I wonder what this thread is going to talk about now, since this whole thing was a big part of the traffic here.

May I ask what kind of disabled? Physically? Chronic illness preferably, but any kind of representation at this point would be so nice. So maybe the character is missing a leg, or both, and gets some biotic ones. Or yes, they live with a chronic illness. I hope that this happens at some point, it would be a great thing.

I hope they take that opportunity rather than going with a new protagonist again.

I'm pretty resigned to never seeing myself in a video game but since Bioware seems to actually be taking things into consideration I still have the slightest bit of hope.

Maybe Bioware will finally give me a disabled protagonist one day now. ;_; I CAN DREAM. The Inquisitor is now missing the lower part of his/her arm and I'd love to continue playing that Inquisitor in DA4 but a lot of people say that can't happen or it'd be a bad idea. I really want to play my Inquisitor again and I don't care that he/she is missing an arm. Ninja-ed above

With them doing this, I guess the next step is having squadmates that are gay and lesbian. After that or around the same time is adding characters of other orientations on the crew and squad. Not that I'm expecting that this game, but maybe in the sequels. *crosses fingers for Lexi to get the Garrus and Tali treatment and become an ace/demi LI in MEA2*

Andromeda just got almost on pair with ME3 and DAI, I just hope they will fix some quest issues, improve (more like fixing) Gil and Reyes romances, also some performance upgrades would be cool, ah and Quarian DLC next month!

I think post-game Ryder could also conceivably have a disability considering the trauma they both went through with the Archon, especially the twin who was in the coma...but whether or not they would implement that is another story altogether.

Seriously, #MakeJaalBi is happening? Or am I reading something wrong? This is not what I expected to happen at all, but I'm glad it's happening. I hope they have managed to handle the dialogue and animations properly for the romances as well. But thanks BW for listening.

They have a perfect opportunity with the Inquisitor if they are the protagonist in DA4. I hope they take that opportunity rather than going with a new protagonist again. I'm still in favor of dual protagonist with 80% of new protagonist and 20% for old protagonist. That way, we'll have a new protagonist who can explore the Tevinter Imperium including, like, from the background of a slave that rises while we also have an old protagonist in the Inquisitor that we can play like, say, during a showdown with Solas thereby taking advantage of the personal connection between the two without needing to base the entire game around the Inquisitor. Given how the Inquisitor is perceived as in the Tevinter Imperium and how well-known their appearance would be, I don't think operating incognito would be possible and I think operating openly would be too limiting. I also think it'd be badass to have the Inquisitor make a return like showing up in some dire circumstances to help out the new protagonist. Don't mistake me, I don't think that'd exclude a disabled Inquisitor: I really hope we see the Inquisitor with a prosthetic and there won't be a case of them somehow regrowing their arm because of some magical shenanigans. Mages don't need to wield a staff to cast, we saw a crossbow prosthetic in one of the Trespasser slides and there exist accounts of prosthetic hands that allowed sword wielding. An example of the last would be Götz Von Berlichingen, a mercenary from the 16th century, who lost a hand during a battle but took on a replacement prosthetic that enabled him to wield a sword and continue to fight until the age of 64.

An example of the last would be Götz Von Berlichingen, a mercenary from the 16th century, who lost a hand during a battle but took on a replacement prosthetic that enabled him to wield a sword and continue to fight until the age of 64. The problem with that is that the Inquisitor sans a hand would require an entirely different set of combat animations than the main protagonist, assuming they stick with the same fighting methods they have been for the past several games. Just giving the Inquisitor a prosthetic just sidesteps the issue entirely, and would leave him with no reason to be the protagonist again. Something I doubt will happen.
