It is the same really... sure there are different levels of controversy for different reasons but everyone gets shit for being other than straight. I lost it at "as a top 500 straight male." "It's not gay, the clits/balls are not touching. They're roommates, who like to make out. Also rim each other. Totally platonic." She's ours now.The top 500 is a competitive job or I would like to believe it is.

Biower pls overcorrect the hideous mistake of not being able to hug more people in DAI, make DA4 a hugging companion simulator, thank u You joke.... But I need this. I HUG PEOPLE WHEN THEY NEED IT OKAY Liam and Peebee needed some hugs. So did Vetra and Drack. And Suvi for being cute.... I could hug Kallo for days.... Firm handshake for Gil, Lexi, Cora and Jaal. Platonic buttpat for Reyes.

I liked Dorian a lot. He was one of my favorite companions in DA:I but I could have done without his side quest. I liked his personality, he had a cool look, and I loved the fact he was Tevinter. His arranged marriage story line was an interesting conversation to have with him but I found it disappointing that it was the focus of his side mission. That is really a time to delve into more lore/personality so on, but it kind of just came off as a personal thing with father issues. I know a lot of people liked it because people could relate but I just didn't find it compelling enough. It was probably the way it was done and not the subject. Why don't you trick me or convince me to go to an inn so I can fight with my dad in front of you? No thanks man. When it could have been about the politics in Tevinter including the arranged marriages... maybe savings someone from a similar fate or something... idk. I hope I am not offending someone who really connected with the story.
I see why they would and I know it was personal for the writer but I just didn't care for how it was done.

Given that Dorian is going to probably be involved in Tevinter politics in DA4 I think the daddy issues plot was done in DAI instead of something arguably more interesting because they wanted to leave it for DA4. Plus, you had to setup Dorian's relationship with his father first before you can possibly be invested in the fact the he was assassinated by mysterious forces that Dorian also is probably going to have to confront in DA4.

I just like going against McHanzo cuz it's so popular and they really don't have any connection to each other yet, so it's just two hot guys paired together and that's basically it. I'm hoping S76 has a male lover and/or Lucio has an omnic boyfriend.

Plus, you had to setup Dorian's relationship with his father first before you can possibly be invested in the fact the he was assassinated by mysterious forces that Dorian also is probably going to have to confront in DA4. I think that is a good point. They did need to address his relationship with his father but I think they could have done it in a more compelling way. Honestly this might all just be coming from a personal perspective on the issue. I have a sort of similar relationship with my parents. I won't go into it here but things were very not okay for a very long time. So maybe it just hits more close to home then I like... and if it is going to be done, I would have preferred it to be more compelling. (Having to save his father from enemies then having the confrontation? or having the side quest span a while with mysterious people poking in to see how Dorian is doing at the keep on his fathers orders? -not take me to an inn and listen to a personal argument. Like I said I can understand why people would like it and why it is important.

I admit, perhaps I would like Dorian better if the fangirls do not "adore" him so much... but maybe that's just my idiot thing. It's no problem, that they love him, but he's not their "perfect sad gay boyfriend". (I can't wording better my feeling.) I hate to say it, but the "tragic gay" background never sits well with me. I've heard it countless times over the years, because lots of gay people have had that problem, but I'm not so interested in it in my game play. (Compassionate in RL, though.) I suppose it means a lot of people can relate to it but I'm not one of them. It's why I used a mod to romance Cullen. That said, I do like Dorian as a character. He's a little over the top for my tastes but he's reliable, trustworthy and doesn't take shit from anyone. A good guy all around.

He's a good guy, I like him, as friend and companion, but I disliked, for example, his comment about the Inquisitor's taste at the bed scene. I know, probably he just wanted to say something, but this ...? Eh no matter, I'm sure, someone can explain, how deep was this sentence. (And probably I will follow your path in my next playthrough with bi-Cullen mod.)

Too bad a ton of his romance dialog is gendered -sigh-. But I can zone out those pieces. It's a shame, I don't think splicing audio would be that easy, at least enough to cut the "milady" part. Bi-Cullen is going for my next playthrough.

I actually think Dorian's dad being assassinated is more interesting if they didn't make up. Mostly because of the inner conflict: He still loves his father, underneath it all, so he feels obligated both out of love and duty to avenge him. But at the same time, they never made up before his father's death and he never got to hear the words he so desperately wanted to hear from him, so there's guilt and spite and bitterness there too.
I hope they show a bit of a difference in Dorian regarding his father depending on whether he made up with him or not. It's a missed opportunity otherwise, imo. Hopefully, there'll be that and Tevinter politics in his DA4 storyline.

You don't have to "trick" OR "convince" him. If you willingly show him the letter and talk with him about it, he wants to go and see what the deal is. In fact, you can even balk and say that it might be a trap. He responds enthusiastically: "If it's a trap, then we escape and kill everyone! You're good at that." Later on, when you're actually there, if you try to excuse yourself during the conversation he wants you to stay, either because he wants a witness, or (if you tricked him) because "this was your idea." The Inquisitor has a lot of options for the scene(s), and can be uncaring or supportive in various ways. It's fine if you don't like it, but don't characterize it as something that it's not, and doesn't have to be depending on the options taken.

(And probably I will follow your path in my next playthrough with bi-Cullen mod.) Are you referring to when he says that the Inquisitor's taste with his quarters is austere? He says that in the post-sex version because he's trying to avoid the conversation of "what happens now?" The very next round of options and responses explains that. The Inquisitor can call him out on being "distracted," after which Dorian admits and explains. He can also say that Dorian can change things if he wants, after which Dorian says, "No, that's not what I want" and explains. I don't remember what the third option is. This ties into the romance banter with Cole, where Cole projects Dorian's thought as, "What if he doesn't want me after?" So that was Dorian's mindset during the whole thing.
