So I couldn't figure out if this meant you don't know who voiced Dunn or not, but if you don't I'm pretty sure it's by Cindy Robinson, who I recognized from Pillars of Eternity and Tyranny. Yeah I wanted to know who she was and was told it was her, but it seems she's only listed as "Paraan Shae" Aya's Governor. Pretty sure that's her, because Dunn sounds an awful lot like Detective Anaya from ME2, who's credited to Robinson.

Me voy a dormir chavalines, os quiero a casi todos, están piando los pájaros fuera, soy un jodido vampiro I just cursed all of you, straight people are gays now and lgtbq people are even more gay ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ #sorrynotsorry Oh, good. We might actually manage to get some worthwhile content from this, then. If gay or more gay are the options, there won't be anymore shorting of gay romances. Problem solved!

Yesterday evening, I ran through Aya and overhead a male angara NPC say he doesn't particularly like humans, but he wants to see more of the asari or they can stay or something to that effect. Please, Bioware. They've travelled 600 years and to another galaxy and somehow I'm still locked into the same NPC conversation cycles from the Flux in ME1. Release me. I get it, everyone in the universe wants to screw asari. There was no more important bit of lore he could have divulged but the crucial information that yes, they would also totally hit that? The angara as a species and culture were already so perfectly developed that we couldn't have used the space needed for that soundbite for anything else? The Milky Way galaxy sharing their most important resource with their new allies: Fanservice So much this. I eyerolled hard when I heard that line. And then for Jaal to seem to have a bit of a thing for Asari as well. Bioware enough, stop. We get that you want the Asari to be goddesses of sex appeal. Enough now.

If that's the case then since SAM can experience everything that Ryder does, would masturbation = sex? A SAM romance would actually be a pretty interesting concept. Although in a strange way he's sort of Ryder's brother...so...maybe not? Certainly raises some interesting questions at least lol

I mean, I completely get how lots of people would find that creepy and wouldn't be remotely interested. I get that a lot of people find it creepy as is, in universe and out. But there was already Edi and Joker. I feel like they could manage to come up with something for the PC at some point, if they're careful and thoughtful in how they treat that sort of thing. But this is coming from someone who fell a little in love with Vision when the movie came out. I have a thing.

Although in a strange way he's sort of Ryder's brother...so...maybe not? Certainly raises some interesting questions at least lol My original concept for this kind of thing, my "wishlist" version of an AI romance, was an AI who had been given a lot of human memories. It doesn't see itself as human, it just has a very clear and vast understanding of what it is to be human (or rather, organic). I don't necessarily think a SAM the PC is linked to would be a good idea, because there's kind of a power imbalance, with how SAM has so much insight into Ryder's thoughts and private moments. My focus is more on SAM's general insight, it's curiosity and reflective nature.

I'd definitely like to see them do an AI romance at some point, it'd be the most truly alien.

So much this. I eyerolled hard when I heard that line. And then for Jaal to seem to have a bit of a thing for Asari as well. Bioware enough, stop. We get that you want the Asari to be goddesses of sex appeal. Enough now. To be fair, like it or not that's part of the lore now. Asari are omni-attractive. Granted a species from a different galaxy would have good cause to be immune, but on the other hand, if they can get with humans, that reasoning is diminshed somewhat. The only new thing they could do with it is a hard subversion- an alien species that emphatically does not find them attractive, maybe even finds them repulsive. Somehow I imagine they'd be cast as the villains... I know you're mostly joking, but an AI like SAM actually would be a pretty great choice if they ever were to have an AI romance. I would think personality would be a prerequisite to romance. My original concept for this kind of thing, my "wishlist" version of an AI romance, was an AI who had been given a lot of human memories. It doesn't see itself as human, it just has a very clear and vast understanding of what it is to be human (or rather, organic). How about an imperfectly uploaded organic mind? Because it's imperfectly uploaded it's fundamentally different from the organic it was before and maybe refuses to acknowledge any but the barest connection. I think something like this would be a good opportunity to explore something else as well, namely a romance where you can't bang. Mass Effect's gone off the deep end with alien sex but this might still be viable. I don't care about an asexual romance per se but I think a relationship where the species barrier is a thing might be worth exploring.

The angara as a species and culture were already so perfectly developed that we couldn't have used the space needed for that soundbite for anything else? The Milky Way galaxy sharing their most important resource with their new allies: Fanservice It wasn't a male angara but a female angara that expressed that. She is talking to a male angara who wants all the aliens gone and she says she agrees the humans can go but she wouldn't mind more asari. The male asks what is the difference to which the female replies in an evasive manner she likes the color blue. I agree with what you are saying, just clarifying the conversation for those who haven't heard it. Was it a female angara? The voice seemed to have a pretty deep pitch to me, but then again, I play with really bad headphones. But yeah, the point stands regardless, it's still just useless information because I just accept it as a given by this point that everything and everyone wants to sleep with the asari. I think I'm just a little bit over the concept of asari in general. Not that I don't like a lot of the asari characters - Lexi and Peebee are cool, for example - or even some of the worldbuilding they've done with them. And I do want to give ME:A credit for being less obnoxious about it than the OT, especially 1 and 2, where you couldn't turn around in a nightclub without bumping into an asari stripper and even the Justicar ran around with her shirt open to the navel. But in general, the blatant way in which basically all of the biological functions of the asari where designed to cater to a sex fantasy is just... a bit juvenile? It bothers me mostly because it's embedded in the context of a universe that attempts to take itself somewhat seriously because it makes it harder for me to do that. A bit of fanservice is fine - no, it's not realistic humans could sleep with like half the alien species we meet and all that, but hey, we wanna have fun as players, so yeah, whatever. The asari take it a bit too far for me. I think it would have been enough of a sexy SciFi in-joke for them to just be "blue space babes" - without the universal attractiveness to all aliens that makes them the designated stripper species and the biological imperative to mate with non-asari rather than asari. I don't know, there's not really a solution there, I'm just griping. It's not like you can change it at this point and the asari are an important part of the ME universe.

Yes, but I've never enjoyed that particular part of the lore, so I tend to find it a little tiresome most of the time. 2. Sure, and for what it's worth, I also think SAM would be a little bland as is. When I say "like SAM," I mean an AI with an actual incentive and interest in understanding organics--or better, a background that allows them to understand organics without dilemma. 3. I'd also prefer an AI romance be non-sexual, because I think the focus would be more on the cerebral bond involved.
