lmao i don't really care about plot relevance. or well, i do, but i care more about getting a decent amount of romance content. and it just so happens that the plot relevant characters almost always get the most content. (and are way too often straight lol.) But you can progress your game without Morrigan or Isabela, and Cora second on command means nothing and Jaal is a Twi'lek in disguised, how you even dare to say that plot relevance is attached to more content with LIs!!!!!!!!!!!! No wonder I never quite understood the attraction to Jaal. I always did find male Twi'leks to be a bit...not so great looking.

(and are way too often straight lol.) I agree with this. Generally the plot relevant romances are straight. Not always, like with Liara, Anders, and Silk Fox I guess, but most of the time. This could be fixed by making all romances bi. Looking how Bethesda avoid successfully this drama over LIs and how MEA went I would say yes for the nex ME. DAI got it right, mostly, they need some work but it's alright for now. Ps. one thing I dont like about Bethesda is that they dont have the balls to make lgbtq npcs, at least in Skyrim, I have yet to play Fallout 4. I think there's a gay character npc in Fallout 3.

Or do you mean non romanceable characters who are in LGBT relationships already? I think theres one theoretically lesbian couple in the prologue of FO4, probably more that I'm forgetting.

The bolded part, yes! If you are roleplaying a straight character, there's no lgbtq representation at all in the game, besides the playersexual LIs, the characters are so little nuanced that I dont even bother to say that they are bisexual myself. I thought this happened with FO4 too, but I'm glad there's a lesbian couple, it's something! I hope Bethesda gets better with future games but I'm glad that I can self-insert myself as player.

In a Skyrim DLC there is a gay male couple but of course they are dead and it is unclear if one of them did not go insane and kill the other. But that is pretty much it if you do not play a gay or bi character. Fallout has Mel from Hancock's recruitment or whatever who flirts with your male character pretty much no matter what, I believe. But pretty low profile representations on the level of those blacksmith people from DA:O or Dumbledore from HP. And BW games with their plot and (excluding ME:A) plot heavy, character driven stories, interesting LGBT characters can be developed in interesting/satisfying ways where as Bethesda games you mostly learn about things from notes, and usually the notes are written by dead people. Though I hear their new game has better visibility of I believe a lesbian relationship? Haven't played it.

Geez. I go away to watch a two hour movie and the thread has moved nearly four pages. From my brief time with FO4, it annoyed me quite a bit. I didn't try a mod, though. However, if the mod only affects the starting experience, it wouldn't really be enough for me. There are a lot of dialogue prompts about the missing kid, and it's the main plot of the game. Yes, you can ignore it and just do the whole sandbox thing, but these main quests are usually the ones that lead you to major new locations, like the first major city you go to. Exactly, that is one of the mistakes that Bioware keep doing over and over again, the only time that we got a plot-relevant character was Anders, and that's it. I'm sure Dorian is going to be important in DA4 but he wont be a LI again. Also, now that I think about it, the 2 bi/2 hetero/2 gay approach is quite dangerous because they tend to do these plot-relevant characters straight. BIOWARE PUT YOUR SHIT TOGETHER WE WANT KISAs and werewolves PLOT-RELEVANT CHARACTERS!!! Depends if we continue as the Inquisitor or not. If we do, I can see Dorian continue to be be a LI. Maybe there would be another gay male romance option as well for those who are starting with DA4 and Dorian can be like the ME2 romances where they are available if you romanced them the previous game. This might be semantics on my part, but in the case of a continuing Inquisitor, Dorian wouldn't really be a love interest that you pursue, he would just be there as your partner or not from the previous game. He will essentially just be a gay NPC. But I doubt that the Inquisitor will be the main protagonist of the next game with the option to pursue new romances. For one thing, how is the Inquisitor supposed to break up with all the people that aren't there? There are also two marriages. The Inquisitor is not Shepard in this regard. I think the best that anyone who wants the Inquisitor back can expect is some sort of dual-protagonist scenario where we get to control the Inquisitor for a while, but the main PC will be a new person.

But as gay player sometimes it gets difficult, romance content cut that always happen to be gay content, or MEA trainwreck are some of the examples. I only played Skyrim, and I did it after knowing Jaal was straight, and it was cathartic for me romancing Vilkas and doing gay sex mods and werewolf fucking teehee

That wouldn't be a best case scenario for me, because they would essentially be an NPC I have no agency over, like Hawke in DAI. I gotta say, as much as I love Dorian and the romance, and would like to see them interacting together, I don't like the idea of Bioware putting words into my character's mouth, especially if they are concerning a relationship. If I had a Solas-mancer, I most definitely would not want that loss of agency in dealing with him.

I agree that BW makes problems in how they do things. And I too tried out Skyrim after ME:A let me down, but I have a hard time with being interested in that kind of story telling and much prefer the potential of cutscene driven, plot centered, companion focused game experience, but I do think BioWare has let me down lately more than surprised me. Also some people really, really like the Skyrim style story telling even more so than BW. Me, I like a slick cut scene and not to have to read 500 letter to figure out what happened in some empty room with trash on the floor.

After knowing what you just told me, I think I will roleplaying a bisexual PC , it seems I have no choice, I dont mind it, but it steals some of roleplaying magic :S I did a quick search with "alternate start" in the Nexus. There are several different options. Start Me Up apparently has a ton of dialogue edits throughout the game. From the description: Full version: makes over 800 dialogue edits with voice and lip sync so you don't have to play as the "concerned parent" character, replacing those with voiced and lip-synced lines from the rest of the game (so it's the original voice actors). The dialogue lines vary depending on which start path you choose. There are two choices here - one for if you're using the popular Full Dialogue Interface mod, and another for if you are not. So you might try that. I didn't bother with any major mods during my free trial. Had I actually bought the game and intended to play it (I just couldn't get into it), I might have gone with something like this.

I tried to immerse myself into the world with the sidequests for example but I just counldn't do it, that's what I did the main story and that's it, and the lack of cutscenes didn't help. I mean Skyrim is cool and the mod community keep the game alive, but it doesn't compare to Bioware. The mod was deleted but some user told me that you can use the console to change it. Had I actually bought the game and intended to play it (I just couldn't get into it), I might have gone with something like this. woah thank you!! I'm keeping this! I cant wait to romance Danse or the ghoul guy for reasons Have you planned some PC or romance?

I'm kind of expecting the Inquisitor to take up a sort of advisory role tbh, it's hard for me to believe that they wouldn't have some part to play in it when they started so much of it in DAI... Yeah I agree...I mean, I don't necessarily like the idea myself, I just can't imagine the Inquisitor being alive and not doing SOMETHING to deal with Solas. Unless they are sort of like the Hero of Ferelden in DAI where they are out in the field, kind of MIA...

They are on Solthestheim (or however you spell it) from Dragonborn DLC it's like Hroldir and Bjornolfir or something. Yep, me too! I mean Skyrim is cool and the mod community keep the game alive, but it doesn't compare to Bioware. That's quite the opposite of me about Skyrim! I spent a hundred hours in Skyrim and I am still around 50% of the main quests. I love wandering in the world and fucking around (metaphorically and literally hehe). I am thanes of all the holds, the archmage, Thief Guild master, the listener of the Dark Brotherhood, and own all the available houses. I have more than 100k gold. Skyrim is a good escapism for me, but the game is inferior to Bioware's when it comes to representation.

They could always do what they did with Awakening, where the LI gives you a letter, or do a ME3 where they have small cameos. I'm fine with a dual-protagonist scenario. In fact I think that is among the best options available. The new PC focuses on the main plot of the game, probably the Qun-Tevinter War, while the Inquisitor focuses on Solas in the shadows as the two storylines intertwine with each other.

I was curious when I started to play and even I posted it here XD bsn.boards.net/post/478944 lol at me with the lizard men, I fall into a werewolf love trap I would like to do a playthrough with some argonian, those lizards are sexy people

Unless they are sort of like the Hero of Ferelden in DAI where they are out in the field, kind of MIA... I honestly wish they would stop tripping over themselves for an excuse on why we aren't playing the previous PC in a new game. The whole disappearing act is grating on me, especially since most people would understand that the former PCs are busy dealing with their own slice of the world and can't drop and run for this new crisis. More than one hero can exist at a time, since mostly, heroes are normal people who just happen to be where they need to be. It would be a particularly annoying and low blow to set Solas up the way they did only to have some unknown handle him though. Whatever his purpose or outcome, I will cheerfully rage if Farmer Fucknowswho or Count Can'tbelievethisshit, our new PC, gets to be the ultimate character to interact with Solas. So maybe, this once, they'll make an exception about new PC every game? Dual-protag would be cool. I can go for that. Just... don't waste the story potential and tension between Inquisitor and Solas.

Farkas stays cozy in our home in Riften. He has no idea that my dragonborn is acting more like a dickborn lol. Ohhh you should start FO4 asap and let me know who your favorite husband is! I have a feeling like he will be either Hancock or Danse.
