Bless those sex mod makers. Though they make my game crash from time to time, they are worth it. Farkas stays cozy in our home in Riften. He has no idea that my dragonborn is acting more like a dickborn lol. Ohhh you should start FO4 asap and let me know who your favorite husband is! I have a feeling like he will be either Hancock or Danse. I know that Danse it's the KISA one, but I think you have to ally with some templar-like organization to be with him, and I dont like that, we'll see and Hancock is the ghoul right? maybe it's my spanish brain, but... han...COCK HANCOCK XDDD ok I'll stop it :gentleman: Farkas stays cozy in our home in Riften. He has no idea that my dragonborn is acting more like a dickborn lol. hahaha I roleplay soooo hard that when my dragonborn is doing some dicking for ... player curiosity ya know I reload to an earlier save because I feel guilty, I headcanon that those are thoughts of my dragonborn edit. Nightscrawl I think you didnt see my edit in my past comment, thank you for the mod!!!! Have you planned some PC or romance for the future?

I agree with this. Generally the plot relevant romances are straight. Not always, like with Liara, Anders, and Silk Fox I guess, but most of the time. This could be fixed by making all romances bi. Looking how Bethesda avoid successfully this drama over LIs and how MEA went I would say yes for the nex ME. DAI got it right, mostly, they need some work but it's alright for now. Ps. one thing I dont like about Bethesda is that they dont have the balls to make lgbtq npcs, at least in Skyrim, I have yet to play Fallout 4. I think there's a gay character npc in Fallout 3. There are lgbt npcs in Fallout: New Vegas. That game was developed by Obsidian though, and published by Bethesda. It's also, imo, a better rpg than Fallout 4. New Vegas also actually supports role playing a gay character if you put skill points into charisma and pick the perk that gives you more persuasion and dialogue with male npcs.

I honestly wish they would stop tripping over themselves for an excuse on why we aren't playing the previous PC in a new game. The whole disappearing act is grating on me, especially since most people would understand that the former PCs are busy dealing with their own slice of the world and can't drop and run for this new crisis. More than one hero can exist at a time, since mostly, heroes are normal people who just happen to be where they need to be. It would be a particularly annoying and low blow to set Solas up the way they did only to have some unknown handle him though. Whatever his purpose or outcome, I will cheerfully rage if Farmer Fucknowswho or Count Can'tbelievethisshit, our new PC, gets to be the ultimate character to interact with Solas. So maybe, this once, they'll make an exception about new PC every game? Dual-protag would be cool. I can go for that. Just... don't waste the story potential and tension between Inquisitor and Solas. Ah, the old Inquisitor debate... I spent a lot of time after Trespasser arguing for the Inquisitor's return, either as the protagonist or a protagonist in a dual scenario. I think their connection with Solas is too important to waste. And... why bother? With their Rule™ they have for a new protagonist each game? The idea of experiencing Thedas from different perspectives is all well and good, but not at the expense of the story you set up. They shouldn't compromise a good story because - to quote Dorian - "That's how it's always been done. Excellent reasoning." Not only that, but they said DA:I was cut in half, plot-wise, so presumably The Solas Threat™ was originally planned to be concluded with Quizzy anyway... As far as Quizzy being a mentor figure goes, well, the problem with that isn't the idea itself, but rather the fact that it would be extremely difficult to pull off correctly. Simply choosing one of 3 personality options like Hawke would be a travesty, and the Inquisitor's personality being chosen based on choosing to kill or redeem Solas would similarly do them no justice. What the Inquisitor went through, their opinion of Solas, how they plan to stop him, and how all of that will change based on DA4's plot is far too complicated for an ex-protagonist NPC. Additionally, their initial reasoning for attempting to redeem or kill can vary wildly. They need let us control the Inquisitor. There is no other way. Of course, that still leaves the possibility of dual protagonists, which I find interesting. And don't even get me started about the argument that they can't do anything because they lost a limb I have an arsenal of text ready for anyone who does And Nightscrawl , this is really late but yes, a female Inquisitor can flirt with Vivienne, and as far as I know gets an identical shut-down. Something to the effect of "What would be the point of that?" I definitely agree that it's odd that not just male Quizzies, but any Quizzy who isn't a female elf cannot even attempt to flirt with Solas, unlike most romance options where you just get turned down instead. It's bad for roleplaying if nothing else, like your character is omniscient about other characters' orientations.

I'd go for the all bi romanceable characters. I never cared that Kaidan was bi (some did). I just wanted to imagine myself in Shepard's shoes and able to romance him. I have very little interest in playing female to make that happen. I'd rather be celibate or even straight. Though the days of me being satisfied with playing a m/f romance are long gone.

Dagna is an intelligent woman. She will build a mechanical arm for the Inquisitor. Inquisitor will get a new skill tree for the arm with different powers. It would not be hard for the Inquisitor to return as the main character

This might be semantics on my part, but in the case of a continuing Inquisitor, Dorian wouldn't really be a love interest that you pursue, he would just be there as your partner or not from the previous game. He will essentially just be a gay NPC. But I doubt that the Inquisitor will be the main protagonist of the next game with the option to pursue new romances. For one thing, how is the Inquisitor supposed to break up with all the people that aren't there? There are also two marriages. The Inquisitor is not Shepard in this regard. I think the best that anyone who wants the Inquisitor back can expect is some sort of dual-protagonist scenario where we get to control the Inquisitor for a while, but the main PC will be a new person. They could always do what they did with Awakening, where the LI gives you a letter, or do a ME3 where they have small cameos. I'm fine with a dual-protagonist scenario. In fact I think that is among the best options available. The new PC focuses on the main plot of the game, probably the Qun-Tevinter War, while the Inquisitor focuses on Solas in the shadows as the two storylines intertwine with each other. I really dislike this idea, because the whole inventory, skills and crew burden doubles for both the developer and the player. It might be okay in a solo game, but in a party game with a fully developed skill system and now a full mmo load of crafting bs, and with the above mentioned romances and teams... the companion management is already out of proportions to its utility in Inquisition, doubling it, and dragging back Cassandra, Leliana and Dorian (by the look of it), and frigging Morrigan with her potential baby boy... it is just crazy, and since everyone, as per posts above wants tons of content for their favorite, the Inquisitor's eight concubines alone are gonna eat up the budget before the new guy even looks at a potential new girl/boy. And Solas becomes an absolute content hog, a romance that is opened to only 12% of possible protagonist choice now is of uttermost importance to frame in the new game. At the expense of 88% of the protagonists. Inquisition did terrible choices for a to be continued game, and their only panacea is to start fresh, far enough in the future for the most of the old cast is dead and just left the inheritance and knowledge to the new heroes, or they will frack more than they did with Warden.

Inquisitor's story is done imo, sure he's got the problems with Solas to deal with but there's no reason a new character can't also have a compelling reason for dealing with Solas.
Ideall he'd be our boss, ie we're a part of the Inquisition working in Tevinter, but I don't have faith in that idea manifesting.

While I understand the feeling, if the Inquisitor comes back as a playable character, there is simply too large of a difference between the starting combat abilities of a newly disable rogue or warrior as compared to the combat abilities of a newly disable mage. Where the rogue and warrior will have to learn new ways to fulfill their old roles, the mage, at least theoretically, will be relatively unaffected by the loss of a hand. The simplest way to resolve the issue is some sort of newly made magical or mechanical hand to replace the old one. Although, I can think of two other ways that might be plausible to work around the class inequality. 1. Have a time jump long enough to hand wave the adjustment period that the rogue and warrior Inquisitor will need between DAI and DA4. 2. Say that gaining and then losing the Mark completely fucked up the mage Inquisitor's magic, creating a need to relearn everything in a different way. Personally, if the Inquisitor returns, I think that the best way to handle the situation would be a combination of the three options. A new prosthetic hand (one that isn't somehow magically just the same as the hand it replaced), some adjustment time, and an explanation of how the Mark somehow nerfed the mage's ability to use magic.

No, what's stupid is to denigrate the noble choice Trespasser very much tried to present as the logical one, and it will be right next in its monumental stupidity to creating a fantasy cyborg out of the Inquisitor, or, even better, inventing a one-handed style specially for him, that combines the rogue, Mage and warrior. And, yes, the eight concubines, one of which is now an arch nemesis. I'm gonna pay to see how Bio writes itself out of the grave they have dug for the last vestiges of cohesion and continuity hopes with the Trespasser. Probably wait till their band aids for corpses TM is on sale. people always tend to forget that with wanting the choices in Bio games, they have to accept that other players will make choices different from theirs, and that they are just as valid, and that Bio needs to honour all of them. Or, one day, it will be you who did not make the canon, and had your choices tossed out into trash or forgotten about, 'cause you were a minority.

Preston Garvey is probably the closest to a KISA in FO4, but oh my lord is he horrible to keep around. If you let him walk within 10 feet of you he'll give you a quest. One of the things that really hit me recently is that... Starting companions in BioWare games are ALWAYS straight-only options. Like, DA2 aside, the only time our first two companions in the game aren't heterosexual is ME3, if you're playing a game with Kaidan. That's one of the things that really stands out as frustrating, since I think it's really easy to get attached to these first companions, who are generally also romance options (again, DA2 is the only exception). They're the people who are with you from moment one, that forges a connection. And they ALWAYS end up being straight romances. In Inquisition, every character aside from Cassandra, Solas, and Varric are in some way or another optional, they can all leave the Inquisition or not be recruited.
Making one of these characters bi (or even gay, though I'm not holding my breath...) would be a really big thing, because they're going to be, for good and for ill, a major character - whether or not they're plot important, these are the characters guaranteed to be there, who show their usefulness in combat right away, who establish themselves quickly. It's easy for a player to fall for them, and they've NEVER been anything but straight.

edit. Nightscrawl I think you didnt see my edit in my past comment, thank you for the mod!!!! Have you planned some PC or romance for the future? They recently had a free trial weekend. I played it up until meeting Danse (completed that intro quest), and heading over to Diamond City. I just couldn't get into it at all. It's a shame because I did want to like it. I want the Inquisitor back but in my heart I know we're still so many years from a canonically disabled protagonist like that. I hope they wont magically make them grow the arm, that would suck big time, from a representation and narrative point of view. I would like to see Quizzy again but if they give them a wheel of dialogue options like with your PC, that would be cool. The reason I'm bothered by the idea of just magicking the arm back, or using a prosthetic, is because it takes away my agency. My Inquisitor is a SnS warrior and this was a traumatic event for him. It was pretty upsetting that we didn't even get to emote about that during Trespasser. So if he shows up in the next game with some fake arm, there will have been this event in my character's life, shown in the game itself, that we never get to comment on?? That sucks. As for the dual protagonist route, I think some of you are reading too much into that and the amount of content that would be devoted to it. It's not like they would design the game around having two of everything. Every time I've seen it discussed it has been with the idea that it would be similar to Ciri in Witcher 3 (I haven't played this game, only read about it). In that, you control her for a time, for certain events. It's not like she has her own set of romance options and the like; Geralt is still the main character, with all of the complexity that that entails.

I definitely agree that it's odd that not just male Quizzies, but any Quizzy who isn't a female elf cannot even attempt to flirt with Solas, unlike most romance options where you just get turned down instead. It's bad for roleplaying if nothing else, like your character is omniscient about other characters' orientations. I don't think it's odd, considering when Solas romance was added to the game. Laidaw explanation about how Weeks convinced him to permit Solas romance makes me believe that it was added late late, like even later that Cullen's. This is why Solas & romanced Lavellan have lesser interactions compared to other couples. I think they just didn't have time to add rejection lines& didn't think it was necessary, since romance was written specifically to a female elf. Btw, can male Inquisitor flirt with Blackwall? If so, does he reject him?

I want more interactions like that. Also more flirts/rejections would be nice, but if it hurts the word budget i rather they use it on something else. Like more romance lines between the protag and the said character you're romancing. My problem with Andromeda in regards romance is the lack of content. Only Jaal, Cora and Peebee feels complete, if that makes sense. As someone mentioned a few post above why are the starting companions always straight? These are the ones that would make most sense to do bi. You'll spend the entire game with them, and they are almost always human so most people will romance them anyway. Would make sense that the most popular romance choices was available to everyone. Also for Dragon Age 4 we need a Dwarf romance. I've lusted after Varric for two games now, its not fair. He belongs to Hawke of course, but still.

So... what was Mike Laidlaw's explanation?

I think youtube has to have recording of it, I took written version from tumblr. So he said that "There are people...Who.. unless you shatter their collarbone.. cannot be stopped from writing. And even then cannot be stopped from writing. Yeah, is that Mr. Weekes who is to blame, um, kind of just can’t be stopped. Uh, he kinda declared one day that he had had an idea and had written most of it and he’s very fast and he’s pretty good...So, that’s, that’s kinda what happened. Um, he decided it would work and I decided it was pretty great and then we’d figure out if we could afford it. And we just, we moved some stuff around and probably couldn’t’ve afforded it and there was some things and then we said ‘well what, what if it was only lady elves’. And he said 'that’s kinda what I wrote it for’"
