i never got the blackwall/josie flirting, but then i hardly ever took him out of his mancave stable.  imma do that next time. and yeah, adoribull and garrus/tali are soooooo cute, it was a pleasant surprise to see them happening. hopefully i won't be too hard for them to strike a nice balance. give squadmate romances a nice, moderate amount of content, but definitely not enough to overwhelm the romances with the PC. and don't give one side a happier ending than the other.the bolded part is what bothers me the most, I'm a jealous brat and I cant endure the adoribull has a better ending than me with Bull  but yeah, squadmate romances is something that feels organic within a group of characters. Stringing along the LGBT audience, giving them hope and keeping them glued to their screens, without actually doing a fucking thing - that's queerbating. It's the exploitation of the fact that we get so little content that even a mere hint of getting more is enough to win some of us. Doing it without premeditation for malice doesn't change the fact that you're doing it. If they never intended to go through with it, then it doesn't matter, what his intentions were. The only logical choices are to make Jaal or Liam bi because they can reuse existing romance content. Now, regardless of whatever is currently in the files, using Liam would be lame because that would saddle the m/m players with three humans, which seems silly when one of the selling points is to romance aliens, and m/m has never had an alien option. The bigger problem with Liam, in this context, is that he explicitly states he doesn't like men. Adding m/m content for him would just contradict the base game. So it's down to Jaal, new squadmate, or a few emails... |

This is what really gets me about this whole patch situation...I can't beleive that they are employing the same silent coyness they did pre-game-release, and we all know how that went. Just say "we are/are not making Jaal bi" and "here are the improvements to existing mlm content:" or even "there will definitely be improvements to existing mlm content"...not that hard.. Even my straight, dumb/naive ass can tell that this is queerbating, if only by omission. They KNOW what people expect, and are choosing not to comment on it even though they know that's what caused a lot of the strife in the first place in regards to LGBT+ representation and mlm romance (bi Jaal) in particular. |

Can you imagine a game where the gay characters are mandatory and unkillable (also plentiful) but there's only 2 straight characters and they are optional and can die. I mean would they still be happy with the specifics? Only then will the they finally understand what it's like to be A Gay™ in fandom.  we.. we see how people whined when we were unable to make ryder superuber white and would maybe feel a fart of a fraction of what PoC players have to feel when they (lets state it, in 99,95% of all games) can either play white people or white character that look like they do blackface. but no, people whined instead of thinking.. "oh yeah, that feels shitty, so from now on I will make as much stink demanding good cc for PoC charas as I am doing now demanding that the cc can make my PC as white as myself." and those people, I bet will be talking down to minorities asking for representation again because seeing oneself in a game is "adding political agenda" if "oneself " isn't a heterosexual white cis dude. |

i know a lot of ppl aren't fond of them for various reasons but i really like squadmate romances and i hope they come up in future games. especially gay ones. this would have been so cute, if hawke didn't romance either of them. :sob:    I much prefer the sisterly relationship they have in the game rather than them becoming a couple. Now Isabela and Bethany would be cute if they became a couple. |
