Yeah, I don't get why they didn't just reveal a graph of all the romances on Twitter or MEA's main website a month before release. I mean, I remember how the DAI romances were revealed two months before the game was released. Sure people would still complain about the choices but the level fandom rage would have likely been tempered if Bioware was just transparent this time around instead of playing coy. I seriously hate to resort to coming up with conspiracy theories that put Bioware in a bad light but I can only assume they were nervous that the LGBT portion of the community would cry foul and start a "Social Justice Warrior" fueled controversy before launch and potentially hurt sales when its revealed that gay men would get the least amount of choices. Like, the generous interpretation is that they took the wrong message from Inquisition's love interest reveals - that was a slow trickle, where they slowly revealed who was romanceable AND by whom (they let slip that Cassandra and Cullen were options together, but not that they were only for opposite sex Inquisitors, and there was a lot of wait for who the next LI reveal would be...). So they decided 'we had this backlash for slowly revealing the LIs in Inquisition, let's not reveal any for Andromeda!' Dragon Age 2 is my favorite when it came to revealing romances. Game came out in March, so on Valentine's Day they revealed all the LIs and who they were available to.

So they decided 'we had this backlash for slowly revealing the LIs in Inquisition, let's not reveal any for Andromeda!'Which is kind of an encapsulation of BioWare's overall problem with feedback, they seem to consistently learn the wrong lesson, overcorrect for one issue and let a new one form in its place (like how there was all the response to DA2's reused maps, so every map in Inquisition was gloriously expansive and unique... but full of nothing and disconnected from the story). This would have been true if they actually had not revealed any. But in the case with ME:A, they revealed the straight ones: Cora, Peebee (with Scott), and Jaal, which is even worse than not revealing any.

Or, perhaps.... a compromise: Bethany, Isabela, and Merrill having a threesome which is at first just them wanting to show Bethany "how it's done" and then turns into a messy three-way relationship where all of them are confused about the status of the relationship 24/7 How is that a compromise between the two interpretations? Because it's Merrill/Isabela and Isabela/Bethany.

How is that a compromise between the two interpretations? Because it's Merrill/Isabela and Isabela/Bethany. No, the two interpretations were 'Isabela and Merrill having romantic feelings for each other' and 'Isabela and Merrill having a sister-like relationship'. The whole Bethany and Isabela thing was not part of that but a different thing.

I much prefer the sisterly relationship they have in the game rather than them becoming a couple. Now Isabela and Bethany would be cute if they became a couple. Or, perhaps.... a compromise: Bethany, Isabela, and Merrill having a threesome which is at first just them wanting to show Bethany "how it's done" and then turns into a messy three-way relationship where all of them are confused about the status of the relationship 24/7 Rule of thump: the more queer relationship is, the better!

Thinking of same sex couplings, I wonder if that will happen in the post-game DLC for MEA. If so, I can see them doing it with PeeBee/Vetra and if Jaal is bi then maybe Gil/Jaal.

I don't really care for yet another sister-like relationship. Sister-like relationships are in nearly anything with major female characters. Romantic gay relationships aren't.

If anything my post is more a compromise then since both sides got what they wanted where with your post only one side got what they wanted. Though I guess collaboration would be a better term. Collaboration is a win-win scenario, where a compromise is actually a lose-lose scenario.

If anything my post is more a compromise then since both sides got what they wanted where with your post only one side got what they wanted. Not really. Yes really. You say you want a romantic and/or sexual relationship with two female characters, and Isabela/Bethany give you that. I want a sister-like relationship, and Isabela and Merrill give that. Your idea meanwhile only caters to you. Anyway, this whole thing is moot since Dragon Age 2 isn't going to be changed.

Don't see why this is such a big deal, since Dragon Age 2 certainly isn't going to be changed or anything. There's just so much to unpack from this reply I don't even know where to start. But thanks again for speaking over loads of LGBT women (many, though not all) who do actually want more f/f and don't necessarily care about yet another sister-like friendship.

Stringing along the LGBT audience, giving them hope and keeping them glued to their screens, without actually doing a fucking thing - that's queerbating. It's the exploitation of the fact that we get so little content that even a mere hint of getting more is enough to win some of us. Doing it without premeditation for malice doesn't change the fact that you're doing it. If they never intended to go through with it, then it doesn't matter, what his intentions were. It still constitutes queerbating. Plus if you clearly don't understand something (you even state it yourself), why try to argue with someone? This is why some feel you're here just to contradict what gay posters say. You seem to dispute posts, without actually trying to understand, what is being discussed. Yes Steelcan , please stop pretending to understand these things better than us. I asked what constituted queerbaiting since I didn't understand it and asked for elaboration, I got rude replies and snark in return.

i like the way you think. 👀 Who do you think makes the first move? Definitely Merrill. Merrill makes the first move on Bethany, but it is so awkward that Isabella needs to come in and helps the poor girls out.
