The Character Romance thread (Official)

Yeah, I don't get why they didn't just reveal a graph of all the romances on Twitter or MEA's main website a month before release. I mean, I remember how the DAI romances were revealed two months before the game was released. Sure people would still complain about the choices but the level fandom rage would have likely been tempered if Bioware was just transparent this time around instead of playing coy.

I seriously hate to resort to coming up with conspiracy theories that put Bioware in a bad light but I can only assume they were nervous that the LGBT portion of the community would cry foul and start a "Social Justice Warrior" fueled controversy before launch and potentially hurt sales when its revealed that gay men would get the least amount of choices.

How is that a compromise between the two interpretations? 

Because it's Merrill/Isabela and Isabela/Bethany.

No, the two interpretations were 'Isabela and Merrill having romantic feelings for each other' and 'Isabela and Merrill having a sister-like relationship'. The whole Bethany and Isabela thing was not part of that but a different thing. 

Mine was a compromise between "Isabela and Bethany" and "Isabela and Merrill."

I don't really care for yet another sister-like relationship. Sister-like relationships are in nearly anything with major female characters. Romantic gay relationships aren't.

Or, perhaps.... a compromise: Bethany, Isabela, and Merrill having a threesome which is at first just them wanting to show Bethany "how it's done" and then turns into a messy three-way relationship where all of them are confused about the status of the relationship 24/7

If anything my post is more a compromise then since both sides got what they wanted where with your post only one side got what they wanted. 

Stringing along the LGBT audience, giving them hope and keeping them glued to their screens, without actually doing a fucking thing - that's queerbating. It's the exploitation of the fact that we get so little content that even a mere hint of getting more is enough to win some of us. Doing it without premeditation for malice doesn't change the fact that you're doing it. If they never intended to go through with it, then it doesn't matter, what his intentions were. It still constitutes queerbating.

Plus if you clearly don't understand something (you even state it yourself), why try to argue with someone? This is why some feel you're here just to contradict what gay posters say. You seem to dispute posts, without actually trying to understand, what is being discussed.

Yes really. You say you want a romantic and/or sexual relationship with two female characters, and Isabela/Bethany give you that. I want a sister-like relationship, and Isabela and Merrill give that. Your idea meanwhile only caters to you. 

Don't see why this is such a big deal, since Dragon Age 2 certainly isn't going to be changed or anything.
