These data are not quite conclusive. EA wants 3M units sold during March 21- March 31, and it is not quite clear that ME:A achieved this, since the OP in the 2nd post assumes that sale rank in worldwide follows sale rank in the US. Much is still not clear if ME:A reached the goal though it is likely that it did. But fortunately the situation of ME:A is better than the situation of Dead Space 3 and Crysis 3 where they both missed the goal significantly and were shelved afterward. I am less concerned about ME franchise's future now. It still could go either way...

Right now it's up to EA to decide if DLC is worth it, or just focus on Anthem, which is delayed until Fall next year.

DLCs would still be money who enter while waiting for Anthem. Slightly less money than expected is better then no money at all. And Anthem is still a year or sligltly less from being out.

First Ian found it weird that someone claimed story DLC was cancelled, then a producer said they make their own DLC and will announce future stuff when it happens, then a cryptic tweet deleted by another dev had files that implied a DLC file size. Just as a heads up, I know that dev who tweeted that image... he's not on the Mass Effect team, so don't read anything into that bit.

I am less concerned about ME franchise's future now. It still could go either way... 3.5 is what they reached I think? It's still much better than how some people are making it out to be. Right now it's up to EA to decide if DLC is worth it, or just focus on Anthem, which is delayed until Fall next year. DLC doesn't require the same amount of team size as a major game release, so I think Montreal is fully capable of handling it on their own - they did Omega and (I believe) Arrival with no problem, for example. And we had a tweet from Cora's VA indicating she was back in the studio, while no patch so far has involved anything of Cora's dialogue. So DLC is almost definitely coming. I mean, I'm not exactly looking at Anthem favorably, mostly because I feel like EA pushed an MMO on BioWare because their name means money, rather than because the game suited their strengths as a company, and that decision led to Andromeda getting less of the focus it deserved from BioWare as a whole, but Mass Effect is still a pretty big franchise and the name still draws people in. The DLC is coming, I can all but guarantee it, since it is still something that they can explicitly make money off of. The sales may have been hit by the negative press, but I just don't see that being enough to pull the plug on the franchise entirely. I don't see it being 'shelved' for forever, just that Anthem and Dragon Age were already next on the docket and BioWare isn't going to juggle three games in active development at once. Like, Anthem is sure to draw time and energy for a longer period, since it's Edmonton producing it and an MMO has a different life cycle than an RPG, being focused on co-op more than finishing out a story, but I highly expect that, by the time DA4 comes out, we'll start hearing rumblings of a new Mass Effect.

To be honest I think a lot of the Mass Effect getting shelved hysteria is a result of a segment of the fanbase just being emotionally done with the franchise and not caring if it continues. Inquisition had its issues but even before Trespasser came out there wasn't that much concern that the Dragon Age franchise was on life support, but with MEA that's seriously being put into question. It's all horseshit and overreaction but I can't help but relate to the feeling that if Andromeda is the last ME game we get I won't be all that frustrated or sad.
It's not as if I'm invested in any of the remaining plot threads or mysteries that Andromeda leaves unsolved like, the Kett Empire, the Angarans creators, Ryder's mom, or even the romances, so why bother caring.
Does anyone else feel this way or I am just being a Negative Nancy?

I want to experience Jaal's romance transfered into a sequel, since we've never had that kind of experience (gay players) ever. We didn't get a gay romance till mass effect 3, and Dragon age always has new protags. So yeah it'd be nice if Andromeda got a sequel. I get people not wanting a sequel given how shit it launched-but most of the issues I had with Andromeda are a thing of the past. So it really is a shame that it may be too late to turn the tides. Here's hoping BioWare saves the series somehow, and that more people give it another shot-since the game really is in a lot better shape now then it was on day one.
I mean the major complaints left are all fairly common issues in BioWare-so not sure what people really expected there.

I'm incredibly emotionally invested, so I'll be devastated if there's no DLC. There are so many questions I need answers to- it can't just be left there.

Does anyone else feel this way or I am just being a Negative Nancy? Personally, I think Andromeda as a setting and a story has potential, but I am not interested in the way that potential was tapped in ME:A and really want them to re-think how they did ME:A. I think very large issues hamstrung ME:A being as good as it could be from a design and execution perspective, and BioWare really should do some soul searching to realize that what ever happened creatively and adminstratively with ME:A, it did a diservice to the ME franchise, the Andromeda story, the characters in the game, BioWare as a company and most importantly BW/ME fans. It would be a shame for ME:A to not continue, because there is a lot of potential to tell an interesting story and give us interesting characters, with a little creativity the MEA franchise is not at a point where it is shoe horned but instead could go many directions, and potential is a good thing. Plus others have pointed out this is the first opportunity for gay players to have their male protag's male romance to carry forward into another game, like other players had in the trilogy. Unless we do play the Inquisitor in DA4, which is possible. In my opinion, DA:I felt a lot like this to me before Trespasser came out, granted to a lesser extent. I was not enthused by the open world design of DAI and the light touch approach to story telling. Trespasser (and to a lesser extent Jaws of Hakkon) gave me the story experience with emotion, character connection and choice/consequence I wanted from the base game. It was not perfect (my videogame boyfriend gave me a skype crystal in like the worst way possible, for fuck's sake, while other Inquis were getting married), but it felt better. ME:A could do something kind of similar, hypothetically, with DLC. But hopefully BW will get over this "if I eat it I can gain its power" approach to videogame design it has stumbled into with ME:A and to a lesser extent DA:I. Though Anthem, to me, indicates BW is not over that approach. But hey, third time's the charm. Maybe their blood magic ritual approach to game design they've settled upon will finally pay off for them.

So it appears that Reyes/Scott animation is still not fixed in this patch: Tiberius Hello, and thanks to the team for making another patch (1.09). Unfortunately it doesn't fix the clipping issue in the Reyes/Scott dance. In fact, there seemed to be additional eye tracking issues with Scott that I hadn't noticed before. An Answers HQ bug report has been made and the issue has been brought up at this forum and on the ME subreddit several times. Reyes fans aren't as numerous as Jaal fans, so there won't be a massive twitter campaign about this, but I'm writing this tagged message just in the probably vain hope that this problem might at least be acknowledged. I would rather if it was just said that this M/M relationship is unimportant and will be ignored. It would make it easier to just to peace out and leave the matter rest, instead of vainly checking in to see if something's been done after every patch. This probably is among the least issues to the devs, but the writing and voice acting is very good and touching, and deserves better than the current animation. I therefore would like a confirmation, if possible, whether or not the patch creating devs are even aware of this bug. Thank you.

I therefore would like a confirmation, if possible, whether or not the patch creating devs are even aware of this bug. Thank you. Yes, we're aware of this issue. (And everything else that's been reported through EA Answers) Unfortunately, we're not always able to fix everything. Either because the fix causes ugly knock-on effects, or because we don't have enough resources to fix everything in the allotted time for a given patch, in which case we have to prioritize issues based on a mix of severity (crashes are much worse than aesthetic issues, for instance) and how often they're encountered in the wild (something that happens 100% of the time on the critical path is vastly more important to patch than a bug that occurs 1 time out of 50 on an optional objective in the bottom of a random cave). In any case: Apologies!

I can't wait to see what the new cinematics look like in the game. I hope the changes are actual improvements. (not just the Jaal stuff either since I'm guessing there are changes to other stuff too?)
