The Character Romance thread (Official)

I hope he has more content than Steve and no dead husband... But maybe we're lucky and that certain NPC isn't our gay romance option and just a fling...that would explain his fade to black sex scene. I'd like to see a pale redhead, too...That would be interesting, especially if he had freckles. 

I'd personally want Jason Momoa as the next gay love interest but that's just me.

Usually I don't have a type, I'm open to every ethnicity (or species in this universe lol), but since I was little I have an eternal crush on Eric from The Little Mermaid, so give me Henry Cavill-like character and I'll be happy 

Not every Spaniard or Latino has to be dark-skinned, I'm from spain and I have Spanish and German blood through my veins, and there are many people with light skin and blue/green eyes here.

If I remember right they even juggle with the idea of a East Indian accent at one time. Also Gaider talks about it in a presentation. 

The process of creating characters is not as linear as people think. If only.

Hah, after Zevran there hasn't been "my type" available, but Kaidan is hot. Zevran was really my type. Small, blonde and pretty. And long hair. I loved Anders' old model. Oh, I forgot Fenris! Fenris was soooo my type too. His VO managed to make him masculine though (not a bad thing, he did awesome job), and I don't remember there being talk about him being too stereotypical gay. Most of the male-characters, hetero or gay, are not my type. That's what you get when you go for effeminate type. Everyone thinks that is stereotypically gay and after Zevran...we won't see another. They won't step to that land mine again. Zevran wasn't even gay, he was bisexual, but yet there was whining about him being too stereotypical. Obviously I should be ashamed of my tastes. No can do.

Kaidan is the type I see as handsome. I really like bishounen-type (yes, I like Asian men, yammy). This is strange, when I think about it, because as a gay transman one would think I search for masculinity in men, because as a man I'm not a masculine one, and I don't even try to be more masculine than I am. Psychologically I'm plenty masculine. If  I look at my real life, there has been some very masculine men, but with them I was even unhappier because then I was slammed in the "you are woman, act like one"-box so hard no wonder I have brushed even a thought of relationships away. I often wonder why our preferences are what they are, not meaning sexual orientation here but why we like some type etc. Why I've liked effeminate men since I was 15. Then there is a problem...I don't always know if I fancy some man's looks because he is my type or because I want to be like him. They overlap, and it is really confusing.

I didn't even romance Cortez before last year when I decided to get it done and recorded it at the same time. It was better than I expected, but it is far from my favorites. I have romanced Kaidan in ME1 with male-Shepard (recorded that too last year) several times, and that brings nicely over the next two games too. That made the romance with Kaidan super for me, but I must admit I temper with BioWare- games as much as I can to make them more to my liking.

@daveliam I hope they do better with Jaal... after I heard those things about his "sex scene" with Scott I'm afraid that he's just a minor version of the female romance again.

Awww that hug  I hate the fact that you can't have that hug if you don't romance him, as a friend I mean, like Tali or Liara hugs as friends, how I hate handshakes   I'm doing a not-modded Kaidanmance playthrough right now and I hate how they shove straight romance down our throats 

I kinda want a mix. Just like in real life, there are people that will just go for it and confess their attraction right away and other people you will need to get to know better before they bother to even look at you that way. Some will quietly love from afar (this seems to be the most common with Bioware) and others just will not be into you no matter what. I like that kind of diversity.
