It actually doesn't really sound that bad, but when he says "both Ryders have the same amount of options" it doesn't really account for orientation. I can't really take this as much, although it is more promising against the 5 female options/2 male options theories. Or he might just be wrong. I wish someone would ask him if the "both Ryders" comment is accounting for sexuality. He went on to say that Asari don't count as a female option they are hairless and blue, come on what female has it? who cares ab boobs,genitalia and feminine features  |

Actually, no. First of all, it doesn't look like his "trust" level only - also your progression. And, most important thing - I've seen things that are located deeper and can imply that some conversations check Ryder's personality (they had separate file for game to recognize it) but conversations are coded the way you can't actually know which ones of them do - it is deeper in tables where I can't check shit. Also, I'm sure it's been checked already, but ALL flirts are open to both genders? This isn't a Solas kind of thing where the first is locked off but all the rest are still in the code? All of them are open? Sorry, I was thinking about this all night while trying to sleep. All flirts and all scenes that I was able to find. The only one that has only Sara is oasis scene and it was marked as "r7_culmination" - that's not... what you'd name the first scene. |

I tweeted Tom Taylorson and it doesn't sound good for gay guys in Andromeda.  I had asked if he could say anything to combat the anxiety of gay male fans OMG.. I just see it as sort of confirmation that Jaal is straight.. Less gamey more real? Then why all others orientations have at least 2 romance options with the squad and gay males none? Wow.. |

So even whe we are (gays) screwed with romance options (especially with squadmates), the one we actually have (Gil, Reyes) don't have any of ''porn'' sound, moans etc, so probably fade to black and waking up shirtless to each other  So not only straight/bi romances are more common but also less ''censored''... Great work EA/BioWare, that award for LGBT inclusion was well deserved (not really ) I miss David Gaider..  I wouldn't even count on the shirtless-ness :/ |

I really can't take much more of this back and forth on everything, from Tom seemingly queerbaiting, to now less options for gay guys for less gamey "realism" romances in... oh wait, VIDEO GAMES.
Jaal is straight. 100% calling it. Have no idea what the deal with the code is, but I'm no longer seeing it mean he is bi, especially given the overall doom and gloom message and "hurting wish fulfilment" message coming from the VA and devs.
But yeah if someone can pleas tag me when we know, that'd be great. Can't take much more of this back and forth anymore. It's such a goddamn mess.

From the sounds files (spoilers): I got the impression that to Jaal, Ryder is beautiful for their spirit and soul and he loves that, not what sex they are. In the Sara scene he mentioned her body, but that's just him being all fluffy with her, like when he calls her "darling" after they are couple, so liking either Ryder makes sense imo.[/spoiler |
