It's more about things like Shepard straddling Kaidan on the couch or Kaidan carrying Shepard to bed. Sure that would be fine for people who picture their Shepard doing those things, but what about the people who would rather Shepard and Kaidan be switched for those moments? That's why m/m versions of scenes like that can be a bit of a minefield unless the developers can spend the extra time and resources to go in and program options to let the player determine who does what. Yet they don't seem to care or consider that a player might not see their female Shepard doing those things either   |

I recall ladyconsular saying her friend knows all the romances and that the embargo drops in 10 hours. And I think it's been a few hours since she said that? Don't quote me on that, though! People said that they have to cut some of Kaidan's romance part for male Shep due to how it makes Shep feminine or something, but does Kaidan putting Shep's hand on his cheek is really wrong? It seems like a common way for couple to express love, guys do it to girls, girls do it to guys. There's nothing gender role about it, I don't know why they remove it. The hand holding walking to the casino as well. I don't know why it's necessary to remove it for maleShep. It seems like every scene that shows males showing affections got removed. If you go back to all of Bioware m/m romance, what they lack is the romantic part. I don't know what's the deal with showing romantic gestures between males that put Bioware off. I suppose that makes sense. Barring some kind of "I'm a top" and "I'm a bottom" dialogue options I guess they risk intimate scenes disappointing people. Little things like holding hands don't convey anything though. They don't actually show that part, though. Male A could be carrying Male B to the bed and then still end up bottoming. I don't really see the problem. Definitely a good point but I suppose they want to avoid any kind of suggestion even if through generalisation? I don't know I don't like to pair logic and bioware very often. |

Actually, it would take more effort to program the bi version because they wouldn't just be transplanting the male version of the pair into the female version's place. If they just did that, the end result has the potential to be extremely offensive because of the old trope the gay relationships involve one of the men essentially becoming a woman, so they would also have to add extra dialogue options and extra branching paths in order to facilitate the player's ability to decide which character goes where, and as much as we might not like it, resources are limited. |

I've been watching you quietly liking every post today and it's been making me smile that someone is following this thread so intently because they clearly are so invested in what can be a really fulfilling and beautiful part of BioWare's games. It's why we're all here, really. And those romances have the potential to mean a lot to some people on a very personal level - which is something BW themselves have acknowledged in the past when they've talked about messages they've received that have humbled them. I think it's that kind of thing we should try to hold onto when we're feeling low. |

sorry, I'm confused, are we back to thinking Jaal is straight? I thought he was confirmed bi from the datamining :/ If you go by the coding, then he should be bisexual. If you go by the leaks, then he's straight. And there's been zero vid evidence of Scott being able to romance Jaal, so people are twitchy because there's been no confirmation that Scott can flirt with Jaal yet. But the general consensus is that he's probably bisexual. oh, ok, that makes sense, I was wondering if the files had been altered somehow and I was like...yikes. Some last minute trepidation is a little more reassuring, lol. |

Shit. Why you had to remind me. I still think this shit was too awful. Part of his own soul that lived in his robo-pet got into his dead twin's body and then they fucked. It was also pretty close to furry. I think I was both laughing uncontrollably and crying from cringe when somebody told me how this goes.

Bro's resting derp face makes me unreasonably happy. I can't stop smiling when I see him. Baby, you look so lost, and I can relate so, so hard. I never could force myself to play mshep (sorry mark, man, just...no), but I am going to play the crap out of that doof. Shame I can't romance Liam with him. Noooo interest in it with a Sara run, but bro woulda so fast time and space would have to compensate. Ah well. I can maybe get around Jaal's weird squishy facechest because he looks precious, personality-wise. Seriously, him and Liam having naked contests? you can't convince me otherwise okay that's what that was. PFffffft. Honestly I'm not convinced on Gil yet.
