Josie and Cullen (and Leliana, but besides the point) were important and involved enough in the story to have custom appearances... /side-eyes Gil You make a fair point with custom appearance. But do we know how important Gil is? I mean, he's the Tempest engineer so that should give him a certain degree of importance, right? There was a video claiming to be his entire romance that was very sparse. Unless it's missing like 2/3rds, it's not very impressive, imo.

In all honesty, 5 open-world planets. Not "we have big amount of exploration". Literally 5 planets with an option to do outposts and shit because this is what waking up from cryopod interface looks like. I'm starting to seriously think that they started good with Eos, did everything right and nice and then all their budget went to Peebee and Cora sex scenes. Also, game doesn't look like it has "huge amount of content" for now... Huge amount of fetch quests - yes, I was able to grab 10 on Nexus in one go... This looks like a complete failure to me. This has completely given me the kick up the arse to give other games ago rather than hold any faith in the future of ME anymore. So... The Witcher 3 or Dragon Age games??? Haven't tried either, but am seriously not wanting to play Andromeda at this stage. Seroiusly, try Dragon Age Origins and Dragon Age 2. You can get them very cheap from Steam, I buyed DAO collection for few euros from sale, it has expansion and all DLC.. Unfortunately DA2 DLC is hard to get, I think, they never made a collection of it, but you can get it so cheap it is worth to try. DAO's combat can feel slow and jarring for someone new, but give it a chance, and you know, you can have sex with Zevran. Get all his romance-mods and DO IT! (His romance is so good with mods).

I don't think Bioware has an anti-gay agenda and, as they said, they really did not confirm any romance options aside from Cora and PeeBee for Scott. They have also said multiple times that non-squadmate romances are going to be important and even the voice of Scott said his favorite romance is not with a squadmate. Personally, while I feel for those who wanted to romance Jaal, I'm happy with both Gil and Reyes and the possibility to woo both! Like, literally, give it a chance. We're basing off info from data mines. Play the freaking game and give Gil and/or Reyes a chance and just afterwards. **Starts to run away from things flying at him.** I'm not going to throw anything at you But having zero squad options for m/m players and a single option as part of the crew - with a CC face and a fade-to-black scene - plus a guy somewhere on a planet? That is an anti-gay agenda. It may not be a conscious decision (thought I suspect it is). If you're making a video game, and you know romances are extremely popular. Do you accidentally make none of the six squadmates a bi or gay man? Maybe. So, did no one catch that? Did no other writers, producers, editors, animators, testers say, "Ah, just wanted to point out, you've got everyone covered except gay men? Oh, and um, we're kind of known as a progressive LGBT-supporting company so this might not look good." Nah.

Cyberpunk 2077 could probably end up having better LGBT representation than Andromeda lol And we all know Cyberpunk 2077 is going to make the reception to Andromeda even worse: The Witcher 3 > DAI Don't put all your eggs in one basket. I'd like to be hopeful but there's nothing to indicate CDPR will even include romances, much less LGBT romances. Witcher 3 was practically a straight man's harem. +1 This. All Witcher games are aggressively made by and for straight men. If they include an LI for a female PC that is anything but "sleep with him" to resolve a quest like in the good old Arcanum it would be a progressive move. Those are the kind of developers that work for white males aged 12 to 60+ only.

Well, once we get a game that actually allows you to create your own character and determine their own bloody orientation, we'll look at it then. As of now, they've given no indication whatsoever that they might be LGBT-friendly in this area. Are you going to completely ignore the point about Ciri though? They could've just not put that in their game. Like at all. They chose to, I think that's something at least. And yeah as for Geralt, him being straight doesn't mean anything because he's not our character. If Cyberpunk 2077 has romance options (which I assume it will, although idk how the system would work) I'm pretty sure there would be LGBT romance options as well. I have faith in that company, they've always done good by their fans (and like I said, they seem like a decent bunch) Talk is cheap. Make an actual, fleshed-out romance, and then we'll talk.

How important was Adams? How important was Joker? Chakwas? Kelly? NPC importance depends on what importance eh writers are willing to give them. Gil as chief endingeer could be important.

Why wouldn't they? Because there wasn't any options in TW? But there were lgbt characters out there! The thing is, they were continuing Geralt's story and Geralt is very, very straight in the books, not to mention, he locked his fate with the love of his life. CDPR is a great studio that actually LISTENS to the fans and they proved it. It's a company from an intensely homophobic nation. I'm not even positive how legal games with "explicit" gay content are in Poland. Oh it's legal. It's legal in books/games/movies etc it's just our government shitting on people who actually are lgbt+ And actually just shitting on everyone who isn't a conservative while breaking almost every law that could be broken. But in culture, everything's legal. I wouldn't expect Cyberpunk 2077 to be lgbt friendly tho, probably some Hot™ lesbians scenes but m/m? not so much. But we basically don't know anything about the game so everything's possible.

They had a first trans politican in Europe if not in the world. They have a gay president of one of the popular cities. They have a couple of amazing lgbt actors and musicians who are popular and liked. Sapkowski made Ciri a lesbian, did you know that? Philippa was bisexual, but had a stronger connection with women. And CDPR used it. There was a side quest with a character who was gay and had a sad but such realistic backstory. So please, don't trust the media so much.

Two hours later: Message: RECEIVED Pre-order: CANCELLED Guide: NOPE Mass Effect Andromeda: Nexus Uprising: #OVERIT Artbook: BYE Money from returns spent on getting The Technomancer, because hey, as shitty as that game is at least it's M/M romance is on equal footing with the straight ones. Overall mood: media.tenor.co/images/ab7f21d2c978d7a2c62c66ce24036640/tenor.gifAlso a new episode of UNHhhh was released today, so maybe that'll cheer my fellows gays up: Overall, I'm feeling very good about myself and at peace with this breakup. Bye Mass Effect. Don't call up my ass again until you get your shit together. Technomancer is quite nice. And yes I really enjoyed the m/m romance. They had a tiny fraction of the budget Bioware has and yet it was a really cool game.

Generally agree. Good main story. Side quests were very hit and miss. Some of it got really really grindy. Tresspasser ending arguably better than the vanilla one. And for those who think non squadmate romances don't work, I say Josephine and Cullen refute that. Non-squad romances can work, depending on whether they're given due care and attention. But they should not be the only option for just one particular section of the player base. I'm at Havarl rn. Have Eos viability at 100 and Havarl close to it. In that time, Suvi quite often took her part in conversations when I was landing/doing literally any shit at the bridge. Had 2 cutscenes there, Suvi had her role in both. You can guess how many cutscenes Gil had. Right answer: 0.

Non-squad romances can work, depending on whether they're given due care and attention. But they should not be the only option for just one particular section of the player base. I say, as long as it works, and works well, it shouldn't matter. When gay guys are the ones with the squad romances and straight guys are the ones with the non-squad romances, then I'll say it doesn't matter. All of this has to be seen in context. None of these things are discrete issues that stand alone on their own. They're all part of the bigger picture. When gay LIs (or bi men) are on the sidelines, without as much care and attention, over and over and over again - if they even exist in the first place - it matters. We aren't starting from a level playing field here. I have no doubt that when done right a non-squad romance can be a wonderful thing. But for it to be gay men who are the only players who don't have a choice in that regard is not a good look. Especially when we take into consideration the differences in that care and attention in comparison to squad mates like Cora, etc. I'm not trying to look for a fight, because there doesn't need to be one. It's just a simple recognition that not all things are created equal.

The reaction of people from Poland, both gay guys and girls should tell you all you need to know about getting your hopes up about major gay romances in Cyberpunk. If it happens amazing, but we advise you not to get your hopes up at all for that, at no point unless the devs specifically come out say say it's gonna happen. You get it wrong, probably because the media color Poland like that. And we're also one of the last countries in EU without even most basic civil unions for homosexual couples. So yeah, let's not act like it's just 'bad media'. We're no Russia in terms of LGBT rights, but it's not that much better either

That's better than anything The Elder Scrolls ever did. I'm not saying I'm expecting heaps of or any LGBT content in Cyberpunk 2077. I AM expecting it to be a 100% better game than Andromeda. And, you know, any game at this point can do better on the LGBT front than Andromeda IMO.

And I'm not talking about the usual F/F route most gaming companies take, still two females and guys don't mind that much. M/M romance stories in big games? lol...you will never find it. And Mislav from TW3 doesn't fucking count, that's a tragedy, not a love story. It's the same tragedy that most gay male characters face in fiction books, films, etc. The death of one lover due to the worlds 'hatred' of them while the bi/gay females are very present and alive.

Holding your breath for queer content from CDPR sounds like an even better way to get heart broken. I don't know about it, there was even quest with male gay npc with dialogues and cinematics lol, also many male prostitutes in some cities, pity Geralt is straight, but I think it's a good sign.. Ooooh, prostitutes and a minor NPC who got exiled for liking the dick. What amazing queer content. Bioware may have shit the bed, but this isn't even like comparing apples to oranges. It's more like comparing raisins to rocks.
