But almost no one saved him. That shows personality is a thing. Cora looks adorable. Hope she's an engaging character too. No, that shows that SEXISM is a thing, I know a lot of people and I saw quite a lot more on the internet who saved her just because she is a woman. I don't know anything but... couldn't that just be because men were the majority players and they'd rather save the person they were interested in romancing rather than the bro? How many female players saved Ashley vs. Kaiden? Is that even possible to know?

She isn't runway model, but she isn't ugly either. She is above average at least. That said, I do not like her hairstyle. Maybe I can convince her in game to let it grow out to something nicer. Since I will probably play as female on the first round, the main character will just have to be the hottest girl in the Andromeda galaxy...unless the character creation system manages to make this impossible.

LOL even if this is a troll/bait thread, many people find soft woman with long hair the hottest. Sadly in most military games you hardly get women like that because of rules based on appearance. Same with mods that make Shep a hot runway model. That look would not work nor be smart to have during a fight. Miranda actually pushed those limits, so did Ashley. I should be insulted since I look like Cora irl a bit, but that's just how it is. Women can have long hair in the military. I've seen many women with long hair when I was in the military. They just have to keep it tied up, off the collar and no lose strands of hair in the face when in uniform This exactly. I was in the military and as everyone can see in my avatar, I've got long hair, I've always had that.

I think Cora looked more attractive in the cinematic trailer video than in the Andromeda Initiative video. I don't think she's "ugly as hell", but I won't lie, I do think she looks a bit masculine. She's got the whole "square jaw, long face, short hair" thing going on which lends itself to being more manly than feminine most of the time. Change one of those three things and you'll likely get a more feminine look, but all three together is a definite recipe for a more masculine look. Not all the time, but more often than not, I think.
I'll be playing a straight Sara my first few playthroughs so I'm not too interested in romancing her right away, anyway. I'm hoping that she, like Cass, will have a great personality and by the end of the game I won't bother to think of her looking any other way.

Hi Breanvu, haven't seen you since Christmas Eve. Hopefully you'll talk to the folks that agree with you this time, rather than stating random comments, reply to one or two posts and then bailing for over a month.

It was all glamour and not properly tied back. That's where it shows what type of fantasy women people want, but BW chooses the typical military looks despite the obvious want of longer hair.

I never used those very long hair mods for Shep nor the out-of-place hair mods for Dragon Age. The only hair mods I've used for both games was to get the default Shep hair and the default Hawke hair onto a custom Shep/Hawke. I don't know how folks that use the super-long hair mod deal with the armor clipping. So yeah, some women might want that. Some guys too. I know plenty of GIRLS (Guys In Real Life) that play female characters. My husband does if he has a gender choice. In his own words, "If I'm going to spend hours looking at a butt, it might as well be a cute one." I think BioWare picks shorter hair because it's easier to animate. David Gaider had this post were he talked about the difficulties of animating long hair. I doubt military regs has anything to do with it here. There is nothing at all in the lore that talks about required hair length. This isn't the first time I've seen this stance come up and there is nothing in the story to back it up.. It isn't a lore thing, it's a practical and animation thing.

I try to ignore it but it gets to me a bit. My personal fav was Shepard's bob cut that had a side split. Not too long, not too short and still feminine. Yeah clipping was always their concern, but because so many modders make long hair and people rave, I guess I just wonder why they don't cater to those that wish for that.

I've never tried those hair mods, I play on console, Xbox one and PS4 but I think the point is mostly that Bioware could still do a better job with the hair. I get what you're saying about some people wanting glamour hair, I've seen pictures of this and that's completely out of line imo, all I would personally like to see at least, is shoulder length hair for perhaps off duty and nicer tied up hair in buns. It can be done in a much better way than the way Bioware does it. I mean come on, when I was in the military, the style wasn't exactly only typical bald and shaved on one side and a bit longer on the other. I'm not judging people who likes that style but at least gives us options and not let it be the only option. I know DAI wasn't military but it had like ten different bald hair styles and from the look of it when I saw the latest trailer, looking at Cora, it looks like they haven't improved on that much. Still short, bald kind of hair styles.

Oh god the horror of DAI with the equal sex hair choices is not something I want to see in MEA lol and yeah I think my personal fav of the tied-up styles was the loose bun Shep could wear. in ME3 they made it even looser and less tight. It was simple and showed she had long hair. We know female Ryder has a cute ponytail and because she is not military longer hair would be fine for her imo. So far I am seeing a lot of the bald/shaved stuff from DAI. Worrying.

If they played around with some updo looks, I would be stoked. I just think they don't care too much about hairstyles and go for the simplest looks rather than spending a lot of time on it. Totally their prerogative, obviously, but it's a bummer for me.

I know that David Gaider said at one point that clipping is the bane of animators and they are always seeking to minimize it. So they'd rather at least try to focus on decent looking shorter hair. The various different bald/shaved hairstyles I think were apart of the Frostbite engine and they had to make the rest. On topic: Don't like the way Cora looks? Don't romance her. BioWare isn't forcing you to do the romance and that's with the possibly wrong a ssumption that she's a LI. I'm not pre-ordering either, but it has zero to do with the looks of a bunch of pixels that looks like a woman.

If you're offended by the looks of a video game character and take it as some kind of attack on men, perhaps a walk outside would do some good. Go get some fresh air. It's a bane when I used to make Sims too. It looks sooo nice and then they move and wtf was that?? XD I'm a female who plays straight females so Cora's just my comrade plus she looks like me so I will not romance her LOL

I don't know one way or the other if I would romance her. I'd have to wait and see. My only immediate "no" was Jacob. I didn't know about the way he acts in ME3. Jacob is a family name and that would have been...weird.

I think Cora looks fine. She doesn't look that great in the initiate video, but in some scenes of the trailer she looks awesome. Some angles make everyone look awful. Bioware can't please everyone. There are going to people who state "____" is ugly. They must hate our player base. Looks aren't everything. One persons beautiful is another persons ugly. Beauty is subjective. People who don't like the look of the characters don't have to play or just get over it.

This means there isn't even one attractive female in the entire game pre-release. WTF? Vetra? Anyway: So like The women (Triss, Yen and Siri Ciri) in TW3, they're all gorgeous, and I have no problem with that. If they were romance options in a BW game I'd totes romance them. Sayin that, when I look at them, its like If you took away their hair/gave them the same color schemes/took away marks like scars and eye makeup, put a Yen wig & contacts on Triss etc and so forth, I would legit have trouble telling them apart :| facially they are all pretty similar.. you know, like the structure. I like that BW make relatively visually-distinct (from each other) female characters I guess. Also, I find Cora plenty attractive, I think she looks hot and badass and I love that cut.

[MOD-REDACTED] We all should agree Cora isn't pretty, you may not consider her the paragon of ugliness but that doesn't stop her from having a man jaw and a terrible haircut, everyone likes different things but she is not a Miss Universe, much less a Disney Princess or a supermodel.

I could understand not finding the character attractive. What is or isn't physically appealing is subjective, and varies from person to person.
...but cancelling a preorder over a collection of pixels not being pretty enough? Romances in Bioware games are just optional side content that add a bit of additional character development. They aren't an inextricable part of the story and have no impact on gameplay, and in a game that takes 30 plus hours to play, how much of that is actually spent on the romance content? Probably less than an hour. Assuming the whole preorder cancelled routine wasn't just hyperbole, it seems like an overreaction to something which is ultimately a minor part of the game.

Why should we ALL agree Cora isn't pretty? Are we all using your standards on beauty? You speak for everyone?
