Was a scrapper and up-and-coming young soldier for the Tenth Street Reds, until his best friend died overindulging herself after the successful raid of a rival hangout that was supposed to finally prove their mettle. Rival gang members hadn't been the only casualties of the skirmish, either. Suddenly convinced that he only had that or worse to look forward to himself, Shep enlisted as essentially a cry for help, a final hail-Mary before letting himself be sucked headlong into what he knew was a spiral with exactly one bottom.

A good Alliance recruiter with a less-than-perfectly-clean record of his own realized all this within a moment of looking "eighteen"-yearold Sebastian in the eye, and decided to give him the chance to make something of himself.

His hardened instincts, solid concept of respect, familiarity with a firearm and absolute fearlessness earned him a lot of attention among the comparatively softer and weaker recruits of 2170 America, and the exacting routine of military life and camaraderie with boys and men who quickly started to look up to him helped him work on his temper and sand off the rougher edges of his character. Within a few years he was a young man of respect, with a voracious appetite for specialized training and self-improvement of any kind. And all the happier for it.

After the Skyllian Blitz he and his fellow Alliance forces pursued the Batarian pirate fleets into their own territory, recognizing in them exactly the kinds of men he thought were the only ones worth becoming as a boy. And so he decided to rely on his experience from the street to deal with them. His experience that the only way to avoid a circle of violence is to always retaliate so viciously that the other party will never even dream of trying to reignite the conflict.  

So he made some calls that others couldn't, and ruthlessly pushed his people - both above and below - to their limits to turn what promised to be a complicated and awkward and drawn-out brushfire war into something that would simply never happen again. This earned him a lot of both accolades and flack from inside and outside the Alliance, and cemented his reputation as a controversial figure with undeniable courage, loyalty and efficiency, which finally landed him on the radar of the Alliance High-Command. The rest is history.

Personality: Renegon.

His personal reputation and military philosophy aside, Sebastian has a deep respect for the values of the Alliance and the right of all life everywhere to get to strive for a better existence. He also feels a heavy dept to civilized society that materializes as a compulsion to put himself between it and conflict at any cost, as if dying for the protection of others is the only way he'll every truly atone for the meaningless losses of his youth and opportunities that he still feels he didn't deserve.

Extending that feeling of protectiveness to galactic society isn't a natural procession for him, but he'll get there. Eventually. He accepts the proposition of becoming a Spectre more because he knows the Alliance needs it than because he feels beholden to the Citadel Council.

He's also mostly a nice guy who'll listen to what you say without much judgement and always encourage you to work harder. As long as you toe the line and don't waste his time when he's doing something important.

ME2 Sebastian Shepard



Made a point of giving him a somewhat sickly look, since he's just spent two years dead.

I'd have gotten a pic of him with the Lazarus scars and all, but it's not easy to catch a good one during gameplay with your cellphone. Still, I'm pretty satisfied.

War Hero

I tend to play sheploo.. sometimes I'll make a custom.. they either end up looking like Oleg Petrovsky or commander Bailey.. meers voice isn't quite rough enough to pull that off so.. I alternate between colonist ruthless and earthborn sole survivor.. not a fan of spacer war hero backgrounds.. my Shepard's usually have a renegade temperament with a Paragon ideology.. renegade dialogue, for the most part is better written and actually has character while the paragon choices yield more interesting and fruitful outcomes.. somewhere between neutral and renegade.. but my renegade bar is almost always more full. My Shepard's are cynical, snarky and assertive. But not without mercy.. but they also tend to be hot headed, opportunistic and vicious, with a very mean machevellian streak.. ever read that guy? He believed it's better to be feared than loved.. I'll save the Queen for her support against the reapers.. don't really have a preference on the council.. depends what mood I'm in.. destroy the base to get the no bullshit on this line quip.. which fits my Shepard perfectly.. shutdown Overlord.. save the data on Maelons research but I usually sabotage the cure in 3 regardless of who's in charge of the krogan. Just doesn't fit my cynical Shepard to trust the krogan on a whim.. and the brutal strategist in him can't pass up the opportunity to get both support.. but he'll make peace with geth and quarians.. he's all round not a bad guy..but he's not a good guy either . Just a guy with a job to do..

Here's my FemShep, whose face has always remained the same, but whose story has been fine-tuned over the years. I recently finalized her canon. She's mostly renegade (not evil or specist, but likes to solve problems by shooting out kneecaps), with a tragic Colonist/Ruthless background, utilizing her various skills (as either an elementalist Engineer with Fortification and a shotgun, or a shotgun Infiltrator; this part remains undecided, and I will wait to see what the new game offers first), and a Kaidan->Garrus->Samantha romance path where her soulmate (Garrus) dies during the Suicide Mission.

Not really happy with my current Femshep in LE, especially with that dead-eye stare. Will have to wait for the LE save editor. Think I'll try to decrease the size of her eyes when I get the chance. Maybe make her skin tone lighter. I was going for "tanned," but this is probably too dark.

my lovely Saphira Shepard is back

I finished my ME1 playthrough. I imported my Shepard into ME2. She looks exactly like the one above in ME1. That is a big thumbs up. I have to say, the purple hair does wonders. Too bad Bioware didn't add other hair colors as well.
