My prediction is that Archon is the one creating the Scourge and this is done by using the vaults in some way. I am guessing that Archon is trying to unlock some kind of power from the vaults and every time he does, more scourge gets released into the helio cluster. So naturally I think the Scourge is destroying our new home and its a race to save it.

I wouldn't hate that idea, though that still doesn't really give any insight as to WHY the Kett would be malicious assholes. Power? God, I hope it's not power.

The archon so far feels almost beat for beat like the Didact from Halo 4. He has a booming voice, he's seen in the middle of some strange... thing and the remnants remind me oh so much of the prometheans. I'm not saying it'll be 1:1, just that I sense a bit of Schlerf reusing his ideas.

And I was not impressed by Halo 4 overall, so that honestly makes me groan a little.

It seems to fit the kind of narrative that BW has been doing lately. I thought the angle that we have to fight to keep our new home from being destroyed to be a plausible explanation. I agologise for my ignorance if you are not saying I am borrowing an idea from elsewhere.. tbh, I am more borrowing from the idea of DA:I and Corypheus.

I honestly don't think Archon is responsible for the Scourage. Though the question I guess becomes if he is trying to use the Scourge for his own purposes, or stop it.

It could be that the Khett discovered the Scourge as a weapon capable of destroying ships and planets and are planning to target the distant Milky Way Galaxy that's struggling to rebuild after The Reapers (the game won't go into the aftermath of ME3, just leave that as a reason to stop the Khett from leaving Andromeda.) I think the Scourge might be a way to suck resources as well, due to the way it was destroying Habitat 7 in the latest trailer too.
I think the Khett might be displaced in the region much like the Quarians, but get pissy that the Andromeda Initiative shows up to make it more challenging. Like they escaped their galaxy to live in Andromeda much like "we" did. It is entirely possible that although they are literally destroying planets that they should settle on is due to them needing a foothold in Andromeda as well- (like maintaining their ships and stuff, I guess) They want to live in Andromeda and survive, but struggle to do so with so many species already there. So they instead began looking for Remnant Vaults hoping to discover technology that could aid them in successfully integrating into the species. However they discover the scourge and realize that they could not only integrate, but be superior to all other races. They basically want to ensure the survival of their race in this new galaxy, and come to realize that putting the Khett first would be awesome too.
Just a very weak flimsy idea though- kinda like a "We're not so different. You and I" deal.

The Scourge is our new blight, and the ARCHon our new ARCHdemon. Good, there will be only one left after this.

If so, that would be odd. There seems to be an emphasis on the manipulation of gravity, and that the Remnant may have found a way to bend gravity to their will. It would be odd that another Remnant technology is also such a big focus of the game. Maybe they're related?

I think the Scourge is destroying our new home and its a race to save it. Ugh... please noooooo. I don't want to race to save anything. I just want to chill with my crew and explore shit while getting in to zany hijinks. Why is that so much to ask? What is this addiction to the "looming threat"?

Honestly, I'd prefer it if the Kett don't have anything to do with the Scourge. Sure they rammed us into it, doesn't mean they actually created it. They might be as confused by it as we are.

Good point. I don't think Archon would use the Scourge like that if it was something he intentionally created.
