I'm making some tortuously slow progress:

So this morning, after looking at some of the really cools pics that people have posted...I decided to start a new game and try out different looks, seeing what each renders like between the CC and the fist in-game cutscene when you wake up in the Cryo Bay. And I've discovered that there's really only three hairstyles I like:

1) that 'shaved sides, long on top' style ( don't know what the actual name of that style is, but I really like it)

2) completely bald (cause some bald women look sexy as hell in my books)

3) And for giggles, I thought I'd see what the afro looked like. While it rendered nicely from the CC to the in-game...And I really liked the look of the Sara Ryder that I created (I finally discovered how to make dark brown eyes!)...One thing struck me as odd, and that is the thought 'somehow, as cool as it looks, and as much as I like a woman with an afro-- or at least that tight, bouncy curls kinda look, somehow, that hairstyle doesn't scream "Military Regs" It seems totally unrealistic for either a man or woman to have that kind of hair style. I've never seen any soldier of the Armed Forces (Canadian or US) sport that kind of, or that much hair. And the funny part is, I have this mental picture of them having trouble getting their helmet on/off....."Hey, Commander! I can't get my helmet on!" *Thud* "Thanks Commander!"

*substitute "Coach" for "Commander" and you have that famous line from "Cool Runnings"....Love that movie, as dated as it is. Ya gotta love John Candy.

I don't mean to come across as rude; I trust I haven't offended anyone with this post....It was merely a silly/funny/odd observation I had, especially when I saw the scene when Sara got chastised for saying "solid ground looks pretty good". That whole exchange between Sara and Alec seemed very formal, very militarily appropriate....And yet there she is standing at attention, sporting this GIANT afro.

I know it's just a game, and the Devs did that to give us options and variety and customization etc...But, again as much as I may personally like the look, somehow, to me, it just doesn't fit in the military world of the game. Nor, for that matter do any of the long/shoulder length hair styles. I may be wrong with this, but I think a ponytail is the most lee-way the military would allow.

Sara still looks amazing though! Has anyone tried the really far-out/dyed colours? I'd love to make a red-head, something that definitely has that 'firey redhead' appearance, but something that looks more natural as opposed to screaming 'obvious dye-job!"
