Had a bit of a post lost---- to my computer restarting randomly. It went to a blue screen that said Windows had been installed improperly. What I don't get is why it would work perfectly well for an entire week if Windows had been installed improperly. But if I reinstall Windows, it will say my ME2 save is corrupted. So is your computer not starting at all now? Or was it just the one blue screen? Back up that save somewhere, if you can. *totally concerned about the Let's Play* Today is a work day so can't do anything on it till I return home in about 4 hours. I turned it off before I left. It said the same thing yesterday evening, giving me the option of a restart vs advanced repair options---and a restart let me play the game for 3 hours. This morning the restart only kept the computer happy about 10 minutes and ate my post of replies to people's comments.

Ok, so I just remembered -- it's been a while since I've seen that outcome -- that he's also about to be attacked, right? Because he was being left in his own mess, without help. He also probably didn't want to feel any pain as he was out-numbered and wouldn't die quickly.
"Dumb or not, I'd feel it if they got their hands on me."

Is telling Jacob to shoot his dad an unusual choice? Not unusual if that's how you want to play it. I guess I'd say it's the "renegade" thing to do. You have three different choices on how to respond which will inspire Jacob to a certain action. Edit: as for which option is the most popular, I don't know. If you want to know the other outcomes: 1. He can be arrested. (So, "paragon")
2. He's left in his mess. ("Neutral" I guess.)
3. He'll kill himself.
*Note that the only difference between 2 and 3 is that in 3 Jacob leaves his father the gun to kill himself. 2 is just leaving him there, without the pistol -- so, doing nothing for or against him.

I think it's funny that on Garrus Mission, I was like nuuuu killing. But Garrus seemed mentally messed up about all of it, like this could be the thing that would make him a bitter jerk the rest of his life. Jacob seemed healthy about his dislike of his father. And then his father didn't even regret his choices. So, I thought it would be okay for Jacob to kill him.

Man, I am SO glad I avoided Win10 (and all its annoying reminders to upgrade) like the plague. You think it's Win 10? My old Trusty Computer that is going 7 years strong is the good windows.but when you buy new, they come pre installed with 10 :/ I upgraded mine from Windows 8 to 10 (because hey...of the two, 8 is even worse) and the only problem I have is that after each Windows update, it will start up to the MSI logo and then shut itself down again. The first time it happened, I frantically called MSI customer support, who knew exactly what the problem was as soon as I described it. Shortest tech support call ever. The fix is easy and only takes a few minutes, but I have to do it after every Windows update. It does require letting the computer run a disk repair protocol. Not unusual if that's how you want to play it. I guess I'd say it's the "renegade" thing to do. You have three different choices on how to respond which will inspire Jacob to a certain action. Jacob's father? What a piece of crap. I have no respect for that garbage. When I do Jacob's loyalty mission, I let guys there kill the clown. Its only fitting. He doesn't deserve the satisfaction of having a bullet to the head.

dragontartareI picked a lot of options that were like... "Don't shoot this guy we're asking questions." And Garrus response was, "What are you even saying? You're the one who told me that killing was the answer" Shepherd: "only if there are no there options. Life matters." Garrus:*grumbles* Kept asking if he was okay and Shepherd's voice actor sounded really concerned about his mental state. Like he was on the edge but not in a good way. In the end, Garrus thanked me for not letting him kill the guy, the implication that he was able to let go of the revenge need in a healthier way. Sometimes killing people doesn't make you feel better about your grief was the moral of the story. And the guy was already torturing himself, I'd be surprised if he didn't suicide eventually anyway. Jacob had issues with his dad disappearing but he didn't abhor the guy. Until we found out what he'd done. I was not rescuing that bastard and I wasn't sure Jacob would even shoot him if I did tell him to. But that's how I felt and so that's what I picked. But Jacob was just done with him. Handed him a gun and left him to his choices. It was an unexpected outcome, but I like it Edit add; like when Varric let Cole "shoot" his abuser. Actually murdering the man wouldn't have helped Cole.

With the default worldstate that I got, he didn't seem all that unhinged. I plan to play goody-two-shoes once I get going on ME1, so when I import that game I'll see how this mission goes.

dragontartareI added this but you'd already read the original. Edit add; like when Varric let Cole "shoot" his abuser. Actually murdering the man wouldn't have helped Cole. Letting Garrus kill that Turian didn't help either. I used a save called mixed Alignment but I think the game just registered it as renegade anyway. Seemed to me with his comments that Shepherd had encouraged a lot of questionable stuff in ME1. I also wasn't a fan of his vigilante justice-- I saved that one kid from joining and dying on that mission but half the others that died could have been idiot kids too. And it's not like he was trying to cure the disease - just treating the symptoms of poverty induced crime with death and more death. The situation being what it was, killing the Turian would not have been in Garrus's best interest at all. Sounded like to have let him would have been the final straw to change Garrus into a person I could never respect. I'm not sure how the game follows up on it, but I like to think by disagreeing with him, that I saved him from totally losing all optimism for life. Kept him from turning into Zaeed.

dragontartareThat's especially cute to me cuz my Shepherd is a red head. But I hadn't thought I was saying bad things about Garrus. :/ In my world, he learned that bullets weren't always the answer. Regarding something unrelated. When I did Thane's quest, I told Thane to play bad cop. Because I wanted to see what he would be like if he was "being mean". He was very mild mannered in his single threat. NExt time, he can be good cop, he'd be much better at it. And I am home, so I guess I 'll see if I can click a few things and make the computer better.

Whelp. dragontartare On 2nd thought, I will skip reading your ME2 PT till I'm done. Some folks who were answering your questions weren't trying to avoid spoiling you at all and I read end game stuff on your third page. *Le sigh* Go on another mission and then talk to Tali again. That may trigger her LM Eek! I don't remember end game stuff on the 3rd page, except maybe in spoiler tags There is a pretty big end game spoiler on the thread, but I thought it was on a later page (and by the way, one of the spoiler tags in this thread contains the same information...so keep avoiding opening them!) Are you wondering what advice I got, or just how my PT went? Looks like importing the save provided you with enough morality points to deal with Miranda and Jack, even though you're choosing neutral responses. Good to know. Minor spoiler about how it could have gone instead (probably safe to open??): Since I didn't import an ME1 save and didn't realize how important the morality points were, neither my paragon nor my renegade score were high enough to resolve the argument, and I lost Miranda's loyalty. It worked out OK in the end thanks to themikefest, but it still annoys me. That's why I wondered how it went for you Something about people dying and taking control of Joker for a couple minutes. Made me sad, I would have been psyched to suddenly be in control of Joker and now the surprise is ruined and now I just wonder how it'll happen. Ooooo. I'm a hero type, so even though I still pick neutral options a lot for lack of liking other options, the game seems to drown me in Paragon points otherwise. So, I'm nearly max Paragon and half Renegade at this point.

I seemed to be in safe mode limbo. ALL THE STUFF I'M DOING TO FIX: I'm stuck between step -Set the Computer to Reboot in Safe Mode- And the next one which is-- Login as the Administrator User--- directions say a Login prompt will occur and none has. Edit Add 1. I'm going to assume it auto logged me in as an administrator user. But command prompt can't seem to be pulled up in the Cortana search bar. Edit add 2: aha. I googled a way to bypass that silliness with Task Manager. Edit Add 3: No matter how I type it, I can't ensure the Pending Deletes and Pending Renames folders exist. All it tells me is that "That directory or file cannot be created"-- so I'm moving on. Edit Add: 4 I input the command prompt, sfc/scannow as an admin in safe mode. It is scanning very slowly. Edit Add 5: Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations.-- which the step by step says is good? So, I used task manager to open msconfig. And told it to stop booting up in safe mode. And to restart. Edit Add 6: It didn't work. It just restarted after about 5 minutes for no reason. My 90 minutes was well spent, obviously. Running a scannow as Admin again, just not safemode to see if we're back at the start or if it gives me a new error message. Edit Add 7: Again says it doesn't find any integrity violations. Why computer, why?
