I might be wrong on this one, but I think the outcome depends on Grunt's loyalty. If you don't have it from ME2, Grunt dies here. Grunt's stand in dies here if you did not break Grunt out of the tank. I was really sad. I've liked that other guy. Yes, but it's not really surprising. Grunt, as this tank born super krogan, can survive things an ordinary krogan couldn't. Never mind how there were stronger squadmates in ME2 and he'd go down before Jack.

I was expecting it, and I still was sad :) I did not like Grunt (sorry, Grunt fans) and actually felt something akin to liking/respect to this guy instead. And I was playing an anti-krogan hardliner as well, and was really into his mindset by the time, so it was a very powerful moment for me.

I guess Krogan are a mix of Klingon and Fereldan to me, so I'm a fan. The Turians have this Roman duty thing going, but then they do crappy stuff like attacking civilians at the genetic level and plant bombs that makes them pretty shady. Asari are a bit boring to me. Samara and her daughter were the highlights and rare for the species. Salarians are just interesting and different. I don't understand their short lived ness. Batarians? Are rude and ugly. Vorcha are dumb and grouchy. Thane's people seem a bit tragic Then there are these species I don't get to see and seem to be incapable of actual speech. Hanar and the weird spider creature in the docking bay.

I like the salarians, but don't care for asari or turians. Krogan are ok I guess. Drell and salarians are probably my favorites because I find them more interesting than other aliens -- and salarians do some seriously shady sutff. Then there are these species I don't get to see and seem to be incapable of actual speech. Hanar and the weird spider creature in the docking bay. Those are Keepers, you learn about them in ME1. Hanar, the big jellyfish, do speak... in a way. You don't come across many you can interact with, but there are more in ME1 than 2 or 3.

There will also be a couple more that you can talk to a little later. Edit: fixed my mistake.

Hanar communicate through bio luminescence. They are (big stupid) jellyfish. Thane talks about them at quite some length in his ME2 Normandy dialogue. Also, Blasto, the Hanar Spectre is quite the movie star. You'll get to talk only to a few in ME3, keep an eye out for a Salarian in yellow armor standing near the Spectre offices in the Citadel embassies. If you see him, talk to him and get some more Hanar related content. Also, how could you possibly - whhhiiizzzzz - forget about the - whhhhiiiiizzzzz - volus?

You said you'd played parts of it so you might just not remember them. They keep the Citadel running and their origins are unknown. They are present in all three games in the trilogy. Depending on your actions in ME1, ME2 might give you an email about them.

Imagine if a volus were working for you to get you equipment in place of Steve? Rather than it costing a little more on the Normandy, it would cost a little LESS on the Normandy. We wants those guys! Spoilers for Samara's recruitment mission: Plus, y'know, biotic gods and all that.

Batarians are my Klingons with Khar'Shan being that fascinating space North Korea vibe... I love playing them in MP. Vorcha in MP are also rather cool... their sounds are super-funny. And, yes, I played a Krogan in MP a lot as well, but Batarians are my dear under appreciated scum race... oh, Thane is a Drell, they are a wonder to play, but so fast, I am not coping. Darn, I wish I was good enough to play a Drell.

Man... the reporter seems a bit boring. That must be the room where boring companions go, it was the same one Zaeed was in last game.
I think I've used up all the background banter until I do another major mission. One more trip to the Citadel to dump these fetch quests, hopefully one of them is the artifacts for Oraka's guns...
And then, Tunchaka.

Oraka got his weapons- Aria is pleased. The drunk soldiers still aren't talking- I see these dog tags I can buy, but I feel like that's the renegade shortcut and not what I'm actually supposed to do. Apparently I missed them when I was on Benning. I still don't have a heating unit for the Salarian. And I don't see any prompts about finding dirt on the Hanar even though I've been everywhere.
I thought the guys outside Purgatory bar would be happy if I authorized the bad guy to be removed from the Citadel but they're still complaining about him.
I'm not so sure about this Partners Benefits Increase.... "Post war economic stimulus goals" would be hurt.
Awww, the Batarian is finally opening up to the French Refugee.
Who was I supposed to bring to Tunchaka?

Dalatrass: Do you honestly believe curing the genophage will end in lasting peace?
ME: No, but I believe in Freedom more than peace.
Shepherd: Nope, too violent.
Dalatrass: Suggestion to trick the Krogan in exchange for War Assets.
Me: Huh... *thinks about ten seconds* Psh- like I'd do that. Guess I'm not getting Salarian War Assets.
Now, who to take....
Javik and EDI seem interesting to me as a pair, because she'd ask invasive questions and JAvik may be impressed with her. OR maybe liken her to the Geth.
Liara's likely hero worship of Javik would grate on my nerves, but maybe amuse me as she became disillusioned.
Garrus being there as a Turian rep for reversing their sin on the Krogan appeals to me as well.
So kinda leaning towards Garrus and Javik.

Went with Garrus and Javik.
Eve asked if something was up. I didn't say--- Don't want Wrex to decide to start a war with the Salarians. I may tell Mordin if that is an option, but don't plan on doing the sabotage.
Ooo, tingles from Eve's speech. Good choice in music.

Eve asks again, in front of everyone. I again say nothing. Ooo. Really like going through the Krogan Ruins. And Garrus says, "Maybe this cure will work out after all. " so proud of you, I knew it was in there somewhere. Javik is mostly being a jerk so far.

She makes me feel hope for the krogan. Then again, the default ME1 worldstate I used had Wreav in charge instead of Wrex, so maybe that changes things.
