I think Spirit told me that the Kaidan romance could still be a thing. And he's in the Commons, waiting for a meal with me.
I'm not ready. So I walked by him to friendzone Liara, a bit worried about her dad being gone from the bar. Did some questionable Spectre authorizations and sided with Csec about video cameras. Guess I'm not libertarian enough in a video game. But also kinda feel like anyone who helped Cerberus killed Thane.
EDI and Joker seem to be happy. They're cute together, especially the "who's hot" funniness.
And danced a few times, with only one drink. Shepherd still has some energy to work out.
Bedtime now, so stopping for the night

If you said the "or more than friends" line offered; most likely Kaidan will also offer a romance option (unless you told him you were done with each other during the Mars mission). If you did not get the "or more than friends" line offered in Liara's conversation, then it's likely that the game considered you so lock in with Thane that Kaidan won't offer a romance either. |

Conrad does what the squadmates are unable to do. Have Shepard's back. He knew how valuable Shepard is to stopping the reapers. So he didn't hesitate at all when that guy shot at Shepard. I would say he's the hero of ME3, if he is in ME3. And for a second time, a missed opportunity for my femshep to give the guy a hug.

That's a solid indicator then that the game did not exclusively lock you into the Thane romance, so when you're ready to meet Kaidan on the Citadel, he will probably offer to rekindle the romance from ME1 (as I recall that is who your save romanced in ME1). Things that would prevent it are if you specifically told him you were not interested when talking with him just after he discovers the husk-like Cerberus soldier with the radio on Mars or during the 2nd hospital vist or if you didn't visit him all three times in the hospital and if you haven't been talking to him on the ship since he's come onboard. Some people say the lack of gift might prevent a romance... I honestly don't know for sure since I've always gotten the give whenever I've wanted to romance the VS. I'll be curious to find out through your experience. The meetup on the Citadel with him does stay open until quite late into the game now. It will close off, I believe, after you do the mission on Horizon. Doing it earlier though does unlock more "romance-like" dialogue between you. |

I've managed to do everything else @upupaway95 mentioned regarding Kaidan, but I didn't have a save pre whiskey chance. Considering he would have flirted with me if I had, and Thane was dying of his disease at the time, I'm kinda glad I didn't. It woulda put Kaidan in a bad light for me. Also, the import save I DLed for ME1 was romanceless. I picked a mixed alignment because that seemed the best of both worlds considering I didn't understand what I was importing.

That's what you need the Citadel DLC for! I have that DLC, but isn't it just going to be a party where everyone else is having a blast and I'm grieving my dead lover all by myself? The game is telling me to go take shore leave, but I'm NOT ready for a party. What is the latest I can do this DLC so my Shepherd and I have time to grieve? Yes, you will. Remember that Renegade action button you did not want to use ever again on page... something? hahaha, I've used it...carefully. I try to make sure I'm okay with DEATH being the outcome before using. Read your letters before deciding....on Kaiden, not Andromeda. Andromeda is going to be awesome. I didn't give Kaidan the whiskey, so I think his romance option is closed regardless based on the romance wiki. He's the ONLY one, outside of Garrus, who HASN'T flirted with me right after Thane died. Ah, so you did. Sorry for double post. Yes, that was my solution, but it is brighter than you'd expect with One of the endings. I absolutely love that love story. A dying man, a dead woman, both fulfilling their purpose, and reaching for the other shore, in another reality all together. It's perfect. Bao-dur's relationship was similar, but there was never an option to acknowledge love, and Exile sacrifices herself for a wrong man in the subsequent fiction. Not to mention the appalling way the game glosses over the end of Bao's story. Anders never lets Hawke to be doomed with him and never lets him close enough to have the unity of purpose... Thane is a swan song of Bio's romances, and the last echo of Jade Empire. From the moment Thane died, ME3 became a wuxia story for me against it apocalyptic background Dunno who Baodur is.... Never let's HAwke be doomed with him? You mean, have full co-responsiblity for the bomb? One time I sided Templars and made Anders help me kill the mages. it was my 2nd PT and I was still pretty mad at Anders haha In the end, I felt like we both left Kirkwall damned and seeking redemption for our murder sins. Wuxia? Yes, no matter that I agreed with Anders, he'd never shared his intent, and let the pc help him knowingly. I assume, to avoid the necessity to figure out some cocked up way for Hawke not to be able to bring Anders' plan to the attention of the authorities. Wuxia, in a sense of a sole martial artist bent on the sole purpose of revenge against an evil perpetrator. Heh. That was my first me3 playthrough, Leng, I am coming to get you! For the second playthrough I tried to fall in love with Jack as my male, but her romance was so different from everything I loved about her, that it did not work for me at all. Ended up with Liara, who mops up every Shepard, heh. |

That's quite mean because the whiskey thing is super easy to miss. FemShep doesn't have a lot of working romance options as it is, so if this is true, it makes things even more restricted. |

So I logged in real quick to go see Kaidan. Just so we could be like, "See, I already missed that chance and we're friends." Then he professed his love for Shepherd  in a really nice, not creepy way. So... uh... guess the Whiskey isn't needed if you're nice to him all the rest of the times. I turned him down. He also took that like a champ. My approval goes up a notch. I reloaded to before the discussion. I'm going to put it off as late as possible and when that time comes, decide then. |

I think that's a great call... put it off for a few missions and see how you feel as the game progresses more. Nice to know that, in some cases, it doesn't matter about the gift and that, in other cases, it does (per dmc1001's experience). I think some of these reputation checks and such are more complex (dependent on more different dialogue selections throughout the trilogy) than people give them credit for. Still lots to be discovered about this game. |

So I logged in real quick to go see Kaidan. Just so we could be like, "See, I already missed that chance and we're friends." Then he professed his love for Shepherd in a really nice, not creepy way. So... uh... guess the Whiskey isn't needed if you're nice to him all the rest of the times. I turned him down. He also took that like a champ. My approval goes up a notch. I reloaded to before the discussion. I'm going to put it off as late as possible and when that time comes, decide then. Wow, that's news to me that he could still be romanced without the whiskey. Interesting to know. And glad Kaidan is the stand up guy who at least accepts it without a problem. Then again, maybe playing with a BroShep causes differences. |

The Reporter? As t stands, I'm leaning towards single entirely or falling on Kaidan. Much later in the game. But didn't you just turn Kaidan down? I only went to talk to him "for science" because I suspected it would be a romantic conversation and wanted to answer folks Question about whether he would or wouldn't. Left to my own devices, the conversation wouldn't have happened until much later in the game so I feel no guilt reloading to just before the conversation and saving it for later as originally planned. |
