Ok, question time! What mundane ability and/or skill would you really love to have? Personally, I'd love to have the skill to sleep anywhere anytime, in any position under any circumstance. I always have trouble with sleeping, even under perfect conditions. I'd love to be able to simply lay down anywhere at any time and just sleep for as long as I need. That would be sooooo convenient, especially during traveling, adventure hikes, uncomfortable tents etc. Thats one of the things that really need to get invented, a chip implanted into your brain and you simply activate sleep mode. (Or better, a program that cleans your brain from the garbage so you don't have to sleep at all, or very little) I can sleep almost anywhere in almost any position, though, I'm pretty sure it's the result of how I'm wired as well as necessity. It is helpful for times like now where I don't have a proper bed to sleep on (I sleep on a memory foam mat on the floor in my room while everyone else either sleeps in a bed or on a couch). It sucks, yeah, but I can't do anything about it atm. Honestly, I'm just glad I finally have my own room again. As for your question, I'd have to echo phoray's response and say drawing.

Just remember that self esteem is a feeling that is most of the time not based on true hard facts like success or clear superiority, its simply a feeling some people have more of than others. I know some total losers that have super high self esteem no matter how hard they fail and some brilliant minds that drown in self doubt and insecurities despite the awesome stuff they do on a daily basis. You simply have to realize your ''worth'' has nothing to do with your self esteem. Also don't give other peoples opinions too much credibility. I am one of the people of whose opinion you are scared of. I have no idea why my opinion about your post is so important, I am just another failable imperfect entity like you. Just do the stuff you like to do and don't think too hard about what other people might think of you.

Sounds very mundane, but I find it extremely hard to come up with responses during normal conversations with people. So much so that folks assume I don't want to talk. I want to talk, its just there's a huge mental chasm of emptiness between me and them, where I simply can't think of something to say back.

If people's lives were a film, you'd be but an extra that appears in a scene briefly and might not even be noticed.

Yeah...I get that. I know what you mean. and it's even more difficult when the people in the conversation all have trouble coming up with something to say...it gets awkward. Sometimes it easier to hang out with people who can carry a conversation, than it is to have to contribute to one It can also be hard to switch from one style of conversation to another. I find sometimes, if I'm talking to one person about a topic and one of us leaves the conversation, my mind still focuses on that conversation, and if someone new comes along it can take me awhile think up something to say to them. Usually, it's just easier to be a fly on the wall and jump in with a comment every now and then than it is to try and figure out something to say to someone who also isn't sure what to say...If that makes sense. Struggling with words is a difficult problem to overcome.
