Ok women, why do you feel the need to wear revealing clothing to the gym? Its bad enough they wear tight spandex, leggings whatever you want to call it. But tight, short shorts spandex and something you can barely call a top is pushing it too far. I may have been out of the dating game for a while but I take that as a sign you are looking for someone to get laid with after the gym. Reasons women go to the gym: 60% to get noticed, 40% to combat some accumulating fat and to get a little fit and toned around the leg-butt area. Reasons men go to the gym: to 80% to get as fucking buff as humanly possible and to 20% to check out nice looking scantly clad chicks (during the exercise breaks) They dress accordingly. Thats why you'll VERY VERY rarely see women wearing any sort of fitness gear that is not helping to make her look sexier, like belts, sleeves, hooks, wraps. And most likely they'll do squats and some cardio, not the unsexy exercises like overhead presses, regular deadlifts or GASP bench presses with remotely heavy weights that would transform their upper body into Arnolds stage physique after a couple sets. My advice: if this annoys you ditch regular commercial gyms altogether and go to dedicated powerlifting / strongman gym, the men and women you'll meet there will be dressed like actual professionals and those will be actual lifters, not some weekend show-offs. This makes me happy that I have a home gym, I don't have to deal with any of this bullshit.

At the time I go there aren't that many flashy Barbies just a few once in a while like today. Any other times there are women dressed normally. There was one girl in there today who was doing power lifting type exercises which is a rarity.

I would assume it's to attract attention.
It can feel good to turn heads and get compliments, like the few times I'd get gussied up when going out on the town.
Not the kinda of attire I'd wear to a gym, to be frank. When I work out at home, I wear the same sort of thing if I went to a gym, which is somewhat baggy shorts so you're not getting wedgies at bad times and a T-shirt over top the sports bra. I can maaaaaybe believe a super tight tank top is trying to be used as a sports bra, but I'd probably call shenanigans on even that. Much easier for one of the girls to pop out in the wrong position or bounce around uncomfortably whereas a sports bra handles both issues (but isn't really meant to be outer wear, in my personal opinion).

Can't rag on the dames for wearing skimpy clothing at the gym as there have been times where i've weight lifted in just briefs and crocs, albeit at home but still. Maybe I should try that at a gym sometime...

In response I’d like to say women, wear as little as you want in the gym. I insist. In fact please wear as little as you want everywhere else too.
Sincerely,
Us Men Go to Brazil, they wear very little these seasons.

I have nothing against what you call barbies. ( hot girls with very short clothes or leggins, skimpy things if I understood well ) At my boxing club, we have strangely quite a lot of hot girls like that. They can be probably distractives for those that are not serious., which is rare in my club. But these girls are nice, they don't behave like cold princesses like some at the gymn that are silent, ignoring everyone, arrogant on their face, knowing that some mens look at them and that probably think they are better than others. On the opposite, where I am, they are very shy and they won't try to pretend anything against guys twice taller and bigger than them like you usually see in the movies or mangas. At the beginning, I didn't know what to think of them since before I was used to only men. I have already fighted with one of these hot girls, since we had both no sparring partners one day. To be honest, I felt awkward fighting with a girl the first time, she felt the same, it was obvious, we were both used all the time to our gender. Though it's been months we were both praticing boxe, I with other guys, she with other girls. I wondered if she was a feminist ( you never know these days ) that would take offense if I restrained my blows which she would take as condescending to her gender, so I started as usual, taking her as an equal partner like any other guys, but one agressive and ruthless blow on her and the fear I felt from her and how she was backing away so much told me it was a bad idea actually. With one blow I knew I was much stronger than her, we were no equals, there was no point doing a show. Obviously she wasn't comfortable with having to fight with a guy, and not used to agressiveness while it was even the lowest level I took. So I totally restrained and slowed down my blows, and adviced her nicely how to better stand, block and avoid blows, and knock, with the right gestures and positions,, asking her name, and joking so as not to appear condescending since the goal was just to improve her skills. It was obvious on her face that she was relieved that I slowed down and took the nice way; She really appreciated and gladly accepted my lessons, which I appreciated in my turn. Hot girl but very nice. She was not the cold arrogant princess I imagined, and she was smart enough to understand she could learn a lot from other guys, not taking any offense. Flashies Barbies where I am don't bother me since they are nice and friendly,, you can sympathize with them, and don't bother anyone. At worst, they do their own things, and the serious guys can easily forget them, focusing on their training. And 80% of guys are serious. in my club.

Same reason I opt for the shorter Thai style shorts and a rash guard when boxing I'd imagine, comfort plus I can move more freely.
I've sparred in rugby shorts and a tank top too, the difference isn't big but it is noticeable.

Not because you are trying to impress the masses but because you are trying to impress yourself and motivate your self to be as fit as can be.
If the person is showing of their body and hitting on everyone on sight in the gym that is a bad thing, other wise it is a good thing.

I have these old awful looking crocs my older bother gave me about 10 years ago. They were a size too small when i first got them, they actually have holes in the bottom. I still wear them around the house and most of the year in the back yard. I've tried to replace them about 3 times but nothing is as comfy.

If someone said to me “I seem to have a thing for Spanish lasses I’d prefer to date them” my only reply would be “that’s great, I don’t remember asking your opinion on your dating habits but fire away, have at it kid” Tell the girl to mind her own business or call her an NPC or something, whatever you people who get into online political spats do these days.
