Hey guys, I'm back in the game! Took me two months to replace my defect five year old laptop with my new machine and now I'm wondering about the optimal framerate for a nice push before Andromeda comes out, because enemies seem way more accurate on this new PC. Do you guys play on the highest possible rate you can or have you tinkered to find an optimal framerate for your style of play? On another note: what did I miss? Of course I still lurked a bit, but any particular highlights lately? Hey! Welcome back.
My advice is to avoid a to high frame rate, the game becomes way more difficult the higher you go (don't go over 60 FPS imo).
The difference between 30 FPS on a console and 60+ FPS on PC is significant (especially for Geth), if you go above 60 be prepared to spam medi gels. The enemy AI scales with FPS, on 30 FPS it's kind of slow and misses you a lot, on higher FPS they will hit you even while running pretty much every single time.
It's true that the Reegar does more dmg the higher you go, but that's pretty much the only benefit you get, from all other perspectives it just gets more difficult.
But movements are also better decomposed at 60 fps so enemies are easier to aim at. I always find ennemies look slow on PC, especially Dragoons. I don't know how it is to play at 60 fps, but definitely don't select 30 fps traks, it's a pain.

30 FPS like consoles is just fail... I resent that remark, sir! It's just my personal opinion, the game just feels a bit smother at higher FPS, when I first played this game on an older PC it had a low frame rate, when I switched to a new one a few years ago with high FPS the game just feelt a lot better to play.

Not to start another PC vs console debate (I Think we are past that years back), but I'd also say that playing the game with a game pad also balance the difficulty level as you can't do the same things you can do with mouse + keyboard (much easier head shots, better and faster movments and aiming etc).

It's limited by the engine, so unless you tweak your coalesced it won't go above 60 FPS, no matter what your display's refresh rate is. Edit: and pretty sure you can choose more than 60FPS even if your monitor isn't that fast. The difficulty will be increased but the visuals will not.

It's easy.Just copy/paste two lines in the configuration file and you will be able to go 120 or more.I am not sure how much exactly.

I only use a 60hz monitor myself, 'cuz I'm cheap. You've just got to turn off vsync, otherwise it doesn't work. In other words add this to the config file: MaxSmoothedFrameRate=120 UseVSync=False (with the fraps counter) I hate doing it, not because of the increased enemy accuracy but because seeing screen tears distracts me from the fat turian and drives me nuts

i think you enjoy more controll @60fps, so i wld stay there if i were u. Moreover, when u were offhost, u already dealt with 60 FPS AI, with your 30 fps laptop so ... Smooth is really cool too.
Tried 60 FPS 1080p last we and it was glorious. I failed to adapt to the new mouse + KB though in 30 min.

Geth InfiltratorThe_Doctor46N7 | 29 January 2017 | 18:35 | White | Cerberus | Crusader 10WS (v) modded for pizza, escort or hacks Noticed that i have 29 posted sub 20 runs,so i decided to grind for 30th,but i got only bad objectives and since wasn't in mood for grind i modded the objectives. So 30 EDIT:tried on 120 fps,and yes there isn't difference in the visuals, but reegr's damage is just ridiculous.I assume on 120 or more hz monitors the difference is noticeable.

It's not a regular Plat run and i wasn't sure if PHoF will accept that run. Also i am not satisfied with the time. Had a much faster run with GTS+cheesgar, but didn't record it.I am pretty sure that some of the soloers already done a diamond solo.

I am a good friend of Kami-Sama, author of the mode and had lots of discussions about how to balance the it. We didn't want it to be only HP spam, his goal was to force you to play better as a team and make things less forgiving. So compared to other mods it focuses more on boosting special abilities of ennemies (grab chance for instance, or pets duration) rather than hp and damage, to make it less forgiving. Long story short, congrats for your solos, currently there was only one in this tier, with AIU reegar.

As i said i did one diamond run on white with a much better time ,but wasn't fun.Everywhere turets, the enemies were tooo much. The most interesting thing is that the first waves were much harder than the later waves.8 and 9 waves are mainly bosses waves,so i nuked them out.Hunters shot without delay wtf? That mod is not balanced for solo. For team game will be interesting, tho.

It's clearly designed for a team. The turrets thing (it wasn't my choice) was designed to force you to kill them instead of waiting for them to disappear. In my opinion, just making them not explode after some time would have been enough and there was no need to make them spawn anywhere, but yeah, it's not my mod
