Normally at EA and any other big studio you get benefits like health-insurance and free dinner or stuff like that. Because the game has shifted course internally, 7 lead developers have left since the start and the game has been delayed at least several times (according to this disgruntled employee) EA has removed some of the benefits at BW Montreal. I read that for a year they've had a program where you have one 30 minute break each day where you can get your dinner and eat up in time to go back to work which is apparently a downgrade from what it used to be, and one that happened because EA has been dissatisfied with the project's management. That's multinational corporation for you. Speaking of developers leaving, I remember people talking about it, but there was always a response in the vein of "in such a big company, this kind of turnover is to be expected". Since I never worked in huge companies, I have no clue if it's true or not. I suppose it is, but they should still treat their employees better.

I think that's just how business is. It really sounds like BioWare had been poorly managed internally for a while. One review I read talked about "personal agendas running wild" inside the firm and I couldn't help but think about Manveer.
If they don't deserve their bonus they don't deserve it. EA as a parent to the developer has a right to erode their benefits if they don't do the promised work properly. That's business for you. There's usually some smart CEO guy riding you like an asshole in any company. It's like Bungie and all their internal drama over Destiny that led to them firing Marty friggin O'Donnel because of salary stuff and their writer leaving after a designer decided to scrap all his story-work.
Teambuilding in big companies is fucking hard. It's bound to lead to problems sooner or later that you then have to resolve. It's not hard to imagine BioWare's been struggling a little bit because their CEOs left. They used to run the studio and manage the teams. Flynn is a total rookie by comparison, he ain't cut out for CEO material but he can learn.

Interesting information. Esp about the delays and such. I think, in the end, not launching during xmas season was a better move. SO there really is a decent amount riding on ME:A. Not just for the staff but for the whole franchise.
