I'm thinking about doing an RP in highever or that begins there with my Elara character. It takes place in 9:33 after the cousland castle is attacked. She returns home from the wilds ( this is the character and her history - bsn.boards.net/post/812765 ). I'm new to RP so bear with me. Set up is:

The story will be about characters who choose to make highever safe again, even while the darkspawn make their way across Ferelden.

This will be a collaborative process. This is a general idea right now open to more ideas on exactly how the characters will help highever. The main idea is that they will. Elara is a mage who at the start has been hiding her powers. I'm looking for others who would like to join Elara in cleaning up highever and perhaps keeping it safe until the Darkspawn are dealt with. Again, this will be an almost fully collaborative effort. The only things that are set now are:

- Couslands are dead/presumed dead with rumor that Emile Cousland might have escaped.

- Highever has descended into anarchy becoming violent and unsafe. Panic and fear from the lack of leadership, a fallen castle and darkspawn making their way north has made highever a very dangerous place.

- Elara has been working menial jobs and hiding her powers from others, living in a shack, keeping to herself while watching highever become more dangerous each day.

I will write the opening where she uses her powers. From there, looking for others to join with characters of your choosing. We can collaborate on how they make and keep highever safe along with any other issues that might come up in the process for a self appointed group of protectors quasi led (only because she was the first to act but leadership is open, if there is leadership at all) by an apostate mage during a time when templars aren't really hunting mages and people are just trying to survive.

I think they can but it's less efficient? In game some spells required a staff equipped. I'd say for RP don't worry about it. My rogue/mage on another forum doesnt use a  staff either, same with edmund here, in twisted oaths.
