Yes I'm aware that Overwatch is 1st person and this game will be 3rd person. But the gameplay we've seen definitely shares some similarities to Overwatch. I played Overwatch on a PC with keyboard and mouse however I will be getting this game for PS4 as I doubt my PC can handle this game. I wonder how this gameplay will translate to 30 fps. For most games 30 fps is fine but for fast pace shooters 60 fps does seem better. Hopefully it's not a big deal, I did like Overwatch's gameplay although I'm not the best at that game.

I would say much more like 3rd person destiny now. They took the L1,R1, L1+R1 for the powers and the battles so far have looked more like patrol missions and public events in Destiny's more open world areas.
In fact considering DEstiny became such a popular sci fi shooter during Adnromeda's development, they may have take a few notes on the open world maps to make their new Dragon age: Inquisition-like zones

I don't see how this game would play anything like Overwatch tbh. A closer comparison would probably be Titanfall and even that is a flimsy comparison.
I loved the gameplay footage, must have watched the combat trailer a dozen times now. It just seems like a more action packed version of past ME gameplay to me.
Edit: Just occurred to me that abilities are on separate cooldowns, fair enough.

I don't see much similarity really. Overwatch, to me, plays a bit like Destiny, complete with Ultimate abilities, and even then the two games have a very different feel for the combat mechanics. MEA reminds me a little of Destiny in some ways, and that's mostly because of the ability to jump around, but for the most part looks like it will play very much like ME3MP.

It's definitely great inspriation to take from. The combat in both of those games is great in terms of balance and responsiveness. It's good they're also keeping the cover based shooting aspect. I think Me:A's combat is going to be unique given the Third person cover with destiny/overwatch combat while allowing you to completely customize your play style. |

I don't see any resemblence. It has Destiny elements for sure like the jetpack thingy and being sci fi as well as the HP bars that for whatever reason reminds me of that game. Overwatch though? I really don't know.

This won't play like Overwatch at all. However, BioWare has admitted to Destiny being a major influence for the movement. That would be the best comparison to make, and even that game is still a first person shooter.

I don't see any similarities to Overwatch, although I would like for Bioware to take note regarding the weapon feel. Most of Overwatch's weapons feel satisfying to shoot, while in the gameplay video some weapons still have the Pee Shooter syndrome.

The MP might take some parts of OW into account as inspiration, but I can't see the SP being affected. I do however see a lot of Destiny (Ability and Layout), Halo 5 (Aesthetics) and Soulsborne (in the frantic boss fights). I see myself fucking adoring the shit out of this game because of it too, as I absolutely love the above games to death  |
