During the recent coverage it seems to have the same issue as Inquisition where the dialogue wheel disappears and makes it impossible to progress from a dialogue segment. I never heard of this glitch. Is it common?

As the title reads: How's Andromeda shaping up peeps? Also Hello, Lopez everyone's favorite annoying Darth is back nice to see everyone of course I did go more or less silent from the ME forums after 3. It was a nice game imho Anywho I'm back now. Catch me up? Mass Effect 1 + The Witcher 3 + Destiny + Star Trek reboot films + Halo 4 = Mass Effect Andromeda Try and combine all of these games (and films) into one and you more or less have Mass Effect Andromeda.

During the recent coverage it seems to have the same issue as Inquisition where the dialogue wheel disappears and makes it impossible to progress from a dialogue segment. I never heard of this glitch. Is it common? It was fixed a month or two after release in DA:I, but it plagued my playthrough severely. I romanced Cassandra who in many ways felt like the Liara romance for Male Hetero players because she had the most well-done sex-scene, and then that scene was destroyed on PS4 builds at least because the bug was persistent to that scene so in order to get past it, I had to mash the "skip dialogue" button as fast as possible until the scene was over or the game would get stuck on a non-dialogue wheel moment. It also happened during one of the main missions in a point where they set up a sub-villain in the Grey Warden part of the plot and then once again during a near-end mission with one of the companions. This all meant I lost vital pieces of the writing in some of the most important scenes for my character because the game was frankly not finished properly with having such obvious glitches left. The IGN reviewer and the Gamestop guys commented the game really lacked polish from their session which was using a week-old build and if I'm not mistaken the game is supposed to be finished well before March 21st in order to get out retail discs and certification, bureaucracy and stuff. Chances are they're not gonna notice every place in the game where this particular glitch happens I don't think, despite it getting a big day 1 patch apparently. They've already had a bad habit of first showing game footage that is really WIP and then showing stuff that looked like alpha builds in december. It's finally starting to look good, but I still find it to be absolutely ballsy as a release-cylcle for such a big game to show so much unfinished stuff and super janky animations (more than usual; ME3 had a fine working slice as far back as E3 2011 and it came out March 2012)

Most people are eagerly excited for Andromeda.
The people who devote their lives to being psychopaths towards the developers and actual fans can't stand that, so you'll notice people like Arcian doing nothing but crying like a baby everywhere.

What it looks like to me: The combat and gameplay are quite different, but the "feel" of what I've seen so far is quite reminiscent of ME1. Obviously, we haven't seen enough to be sure, but that's how it feels to me. I still remember the first "trailer/commercial" for the original Mass Effect: So far, I'm getting a similar vibe from ME:A, and that includes the gameplay vids we've seen so far. Edit: Whoops, hit post before I finished Looking up that link derailed my train of thought. But to finish, the gameplay looks more polished than ME3, and the stupid combat roll (please, actually try and pull that kind of stuff off in gear, it's damn near impossible) has been removed en lieu of a jetpack mechanic. Powers, profiles and such are definitely different but with a strong Mass Effect feel, everything looked solid on that front. Facial animations still seem to be lacking, but we've been looking at older builds of the game, and I'm hoping for DA:I or better levels of it, but so far it doesn't look to be so bad I'd cringe every time I turned around. All in all, it looks quite nice, and I've definitely been on the "nope" side of the fence for quite some time after ME3. I may not pre-order or day 1 purchase, but I'm cautiously optimistic at this point. I really liked that trailer and I get similar vibes from the Andromeda trailers I've seen so far mainly because they heavily emphasize exploration. But I also get alot more combat focus in the andromeda stuff and that's what Honestly concerns me.

Welcome back. I also came from the OG BSN. Made my account like a month ago. This'll probably feel pretty familiar, although that could be a good or a bad thing depending on what threads you're in. ty, and also it is nice to see other Bioware peoples from the old days. I miss the ME1 one forums. Luckily there's a theme here that remids me of them . But if the game is shaping up to be inquisition in space i'm ok with that.

What it looks like to me: *snip* I really liked that trailer and I get similar vibes from the Andromeda trailers I've seen so far mainly because they heavily emphasize exploration. But I also get alot more combat focus in the andromeda stuff and that's what Honestly concerns me. This is only my opinion, so take it with a grain of salt. Mass Effect, to me, was an RPG first, with 3rd person shooter elements to drive the combat portions. The gameplay was "meh, but ok" at the time, but certainly not great in my opinion. Mass Effect 2 and then 3 greatly improved on the 3rd person shooter combat elements, but the RPG elements were either cut or vastly simplified. For example, in ME1, for every enemy killed or any action taken "on the field" (scanning resources, unlocking doors/chests, etc) you gained exp. You could chat (albeit in a simple way) with your squad while on a mission, and different locations had them saying specific things. These kinds of things were simplified to a large extent in ME2 and ME3. Now, the last two games in the trilogy were good games in their own right, and continued Shepard's story quite well (we won't talk about ME3's ending) but in many ways, they felt completely different than ME1 did. That's not necessarily a bad thing, but my preference would have been to see ME1's gameplay but improved. Now in ME:A, I feel like I may finally be getting my wish. The combat does look faster and more fluid, but quite a few reviewers I've read or watched videos on (thankfully very spoiler free!) have commented that the "soul" of Mass Effect remains intact, and that the combat feels very good and solid. From the gameplay videos that we've seen, we can see that killing enemies in the field gives exp immediately, instead of an after-action-report-mission-summary type of thing, which broke ME2 and ME3 up into chunks unnecessarily, in my opinion. Add in the exploration elements that the last two games of the trilogy really lacked, and the more traditional loot style system it appears to have, and it looks to me like Bioware are returning to Mass Effect 1 for inspiration for ME:A, but with vastly improved combat gameplay. This to me seems to be the best of all possibilities. My only concern is the potential for the story to be lackluster, given the attention to gameplay we've seen, but even there a bunch of the reviewers (who, to be fair, only played a small part of the game to review) have said that there's some solid potential. It's obviously a wait and see type thing, but I'm cautiously hopeful that ME:A could be the spiritual successor to Mass Effect that I've been waiting for these past 10 years.

The combat looks alright.
I mainly care about the story, so unless some are able to get some "lets play footage" out with the early EA event, then ill just have to remain firmly on the fence about that aspect.
One part interested, one part trepidation, and one part, "Keep ME3 narrative" away from this thing. 3 parts "run over everything with gunless Mako 2.0"

Nothing overly exciting, nothing overly disappointing, just 50 hours of "meh", sort of like Dragon Age: Inquisition. If you think that at worst it'll be mediocre, then you must have a pretty positive outlook. I'm hyped for the game and even I think it'll be mediocre at worst.

Just as well, it tastes like shit. Naw man, it's one of those stale off-brands. Dude I see right through this act. I know you're optimistic for the game. Let me put it this way, I'm optimistic that the combat gameplay is going to be fairly good... and that's about it. Since the combat is the majority of the game, it would be unfair to ignore it. With that said, I don't play Mass Effect games for the combat. The story is about 90% of the appeal of Mass Effect to me, and that's not shaping up very well from what we've been shown so far. Honestly, it's probably going to be at worst a mediocre experience throughout. Nothing overly exciting, nothing overly disappointing, just 50 hours of "meh", sort of like Dragon Age: Inquisition. If you think that at worst it'll be mediocre, then you must have a pretty positive outlook. I'm hyped for the game and even I think it'll be mediocre at worst.[/quote]Like I said, I think the combat will be good. Some aspects are pretty iffy, but overall I think it's going to be an improvement over the combat system of ME3, which I liked. I like the fact that the RPG system of character building is a lot deeper than ME3's, but I'm not sure the departure from defined classes is going to be a positive thing. And like I said above, I'm 90% about the story. If that blows, great combat's not going to hold the game up. I could only replay DA:I so many times before the unengaging story and, to be frank, awful combat system made me want to kill myself. DA:I's strength, in my opinion, was its characters, minus a certain lesbian elf cancer. Just as well, it tastes like shit. Naw man, it's one of those stale off-brands. I'll take your word for it, but what is it? Sort of like whipped cream, but with a taste of cocoa.
