[No game/plot spoilers please]
Reporting technical issues, balance issues and bugs on Twitter is a hiding to nothing. That's what you need a forum for, so here's our solution:
- We'll accept structured feedback in the specific format listed below.
- Why a structured format? Because that makes it easy for any passing BioWare person to gain useful insight without trawling through endless discussion.
- Why do this, it's not our job? Because if it helps make the game better, that is good for us all.
Please note, this thread will be strictly moderated. Discussion posts and non-helpful posts (they can be positive or negative but they must have some kind of point) will be mod-moved to one of the adjoining discussion threads.
Where to post:
Feedback formatWe've done a little research into what feedback might be useful. No one is forcing anyone to do this, but if it's useful it will get looked at, if that makes the game better that helps us all. In this thread, please copy/paste one of these blocks to the top of your piece of feedback and add your comments: - - - - - General Multiplayer feedback: What I liked / or did not like, and why: How I would improve it: MP kit feedback: I liked / or did not like this MP kit, and why: How I would buff/nerf it or improve it: MP Weapon feedback: I like / or did not like this MP weapon, and why: How I would buff/nerf it or improve it: MP Skill/Power feedback: I like / or did not like this Skill/Power, and why: How I would buff/nerf it or improve it: MP Map feedback: I like / or did not like this map, and why: How I would improve it: Bug feedback: This bug happened to me (be specific): I am on [your platform/spec]" The exact thing I was doing when it happened was: (include video or screenshot if possible in spoiler tag)

And as a general request from me -
Please note that this thread is for actual, serious bug reports and buff/nerf recommendations. Not for generic shenanigans like "biower pls buff asari ass" or "biower why u no include gigavorcha???" and similar posts.
As such, I expect you guys to PLEASE be serious in this one (set of two) thread and also not to attack each other or be generally hostile to BioWare - particularly since I intend to point a few devs in this direction so that they can see community feedback that is not limited to social media and/or 140-character limits. But if people are being complete and utter douchebags about them here, then I suspect any good and useful feedback would fall on deaf ears.
Let's not be that way. Or if you really feel the need for "MP sucks" to get out of your system, make a different thread for it. Basically, "take it outside".

The Krogan's Blood Rage visual effect needs to be toned down or disabled entirely. This was an issue in ME3MP as well as the art team went crazy with overlays and the community criticized them for it. It's good to see that they are back to their old habits again as the Blood Rage visual is giving me a headache. Seriously, the game looks great don't cheapen it with too many unnecessary visual effects.

The actual overlay is fine, the contrasting and blur is not.

Bug feedback: Host Crashing at the start of a Multiplayer Match This bug happened to me: Going into the Origin Early Access with two friends, the three of us created a custom lobby with myself as host. Within a few seconds of the game starting, my character suddenly froze and was unable to move. The screen appeared to freeze, though I could still hear sound from the game. My friends observed I appeared to be "running in place" while this was occurring. Eventually I was forced to AltCtrlDel out of the game to force crash it and relaunch. We attempted to make another game, but the same thing happened. Next, I joined a quick match to determine if it was something my PC was causing. I joined and played the match just fine, no problems whatsoever. Meanwhile my two friends attempted to host another match to test it. My friend who hosted also froze as I had, and my other friend had observed him running in place as I had. They then swapped who was hosting, and again the host was frozen. So far, because of this, we've been unable to play together. The exact thing I was doing when it happened was: As a host, attempting to move away from the spawn point immediately after the match began.

In our match the host froze. I was the only one who could move around. Host left, and then the other 2 were still frozen. We all alt tab'ed out and restarted the game. And then we tried again, and the same host froze again. Host migration to me, I was frozen too. We quit origin and tried again, and we still froze. We called it a night right there. On the other hand, the sound is coming from all directions and I can hear everything going on on the map, so can my teammates. That was beyond annoying. As to optimization, we have 2 people with 980ti running at 1440p ultra/high and we were getting around 100fps (at maxed FOV) and the other was running 1070 at 1080p144hz. So we know it's not your PCs that are problmatic.

I wrote up a whole long post about basic gameplay mechanics that seem to be absent that essentially made me rage quit - things that would really, really help make the game more accessible. bsn.boards.net/post/408796/thread/5132

The exact same thing happened to me and two of my friends. We tried every combination of us hosting, and me and one of them were able to play together, but as soon as the third would try to join, the Host would freeze/crash and the game would drop him. When waiting for the host to go to someone else, that person would also freeze/crash as long as the said third person was still in the group. We tried disabling antivirus programs, turning off firewalls, forwarding ports on routers (as far as we could find them, we actually didn't find the UDP ports the game is using). This is quite frustrating, as we looked forward to trying the game together and so far, 2 out of 3 hours of early access have been spent on somehow trying to get multiplayer working for us. If anyone has a solution, or even only an idea, it would be highly appreciated.

Right as we load in the host would freeze and have to close out of the game via task manager, the two remaining would be able to play fine. Upon the third trying to rejoin the new host would end up freezing and having to close out etc. Very disappointing as we don't want to waste our trial time beta testing and bug reporting. We intended to play MP as a group, and are currently unable to after ~2 hours of trial and error.

Bug feedback: Equiping Weapons/Mod disconnects me from EA Server
This bug happened to me (be specific):After selecting a weapon or mod to equip, the game will disconnect me from the server and kick me back into the Main Menu.
I am on Xbox
The exact thing I was doing when it happened was: Without fail, when I go to the Character Customization window and try to equip a new weapon or weapon mod for any of my unlocked character, the game will "Contact the server" for 5-10 seconds and then lose connection and kick me back to the main menu.

General Multiplayer feedback:
Please make the push-to-talk VoIP the default setting on PC.
Alot of people for some reason are not aware that their speakers are causing direct sound loops into the game, that will cause the Hosts to quit and/or cause them to migrate to random people.
And before you note that we have the option of muting these persons, please note that it cannot happen in a fast enough to avoid either getting your ears blown out, or cause the Host to freeze due to the load which will then start a chain of Host migration processes.
How I would improve it:
Turn Push to talk to the default setting.

Turn Push to talk to the default setting. ^This. I wasn't aware my mic was transmitting till I heard my voice. Also there was one moment in one of matches when i lost all in-game sound and then game froze completely soon after that. I suspect it was Origin overlay, but can't be 100% sure.

With the day one patch still pending this might be resolved already but my computer just did a hard reset (screen went black and a couple seconds later I was greeted with the Windows start screen) when I tried to change the mouse sensitivity while in the tutorial.
Graphics driver is a month old or something.

The Asari Huntress' stealth grid is very inconsistent. Only about 1 in 4 attempts to use the ability seems to work. Most of the time when I activate stealth grid I will go invisible for a moment, then immediately uncloak. My teammates don't look to be cloaked either.

If anyone has a solution, or even only an idea, it would be highly appreciated. Can confirm - exact same issue - three friends trying to play a custom private multiplayer match together. Quick question - Was there a Human Soldier on your team at any stage? My brother and I encountered the same technical issue - I would host, screen would freeze, he would be disconnected and made the new host and then also freeze. Same chain of events if he hosted and I joined. I noticed however that the crash occurred during the tutorial also. The common theme being that I was playing as a human soldier. So we tried various combinations of classes. All worked fine. Asari Adept. Krogan Vanguard. Human Infiltrator. Turian Soldier. All fine. As soon as we entered a Human Soldier into the mix - crash. We tried it on all maps and against all enemy factions and this seemed to be the only repeatable way we saw this issue. Whether it's the class itself or something else, the weapon combinations or power set, I'm not completely sure yet. Let me know if this helps in any way.

That was apparently exactly what was causing it. The human soldier was the one that made the host crash everytime he joined. Thanks!

I just tried this as a human soldier, and this is the result. I monitored with Afterburner trying to figure out what was wrong, but except 100% GPU usage I have not found anything wrong. And in other parts of the game I've reached 100% and didnt' freeze. i5-6600l/GTX980ti/16GB/SSD. We have shared this with bioware, and hopefully they can figure out what is wrong.

Whether it's the class itself or something else, the weapon combinations or power set, I'm not completely sure yet. Let me know if this helps in any way. I'm curious, have you tested this as both a male and female human soldier? I relayed to my friends what Axialbloom said, and went to test it out ourselves. Apparently, from what we can figure out, games are only completely locking up at the start when a male soldier is present, or when a male soldier joins. Female soldiers don't seem to suffer the same fate, (Also, Axialbloom, nice observation! gold star for you.)

On Xbox.
Sound direction is really messed up. I can hear things all around me even though it's happening all the way on the other side of the map, like team mates voices even though they are nowhere near me. It's very frustrating and confusing when I'm in a tight situation and I hear gunshots or heavy footsteps close by, so I turn around or move out of cover in panic thinking there is an enemy behind me, only to find there was nothing there and then I get shot because I have no idea what's going on.
I use headphones and have tried every combination of audio settings in the game but nothing works.
I also get disconnected quite often, and if I go to the dashboard quickly while in a game when I get back it says I've lost connection to the servers and boots me back to the title screen.

General Multiplayer feedback:
MP Skill/Power feedback:
I like / or did not like this Skill/Power, and why: I did not like how one must press and hold for Cyrobeam and Flamethrower on the PC. Pressing and holding the Number 2 or 3 key, while moving/using jump jet etc just caused me to sit up and angle my left hand in a very strange manner. It would be very nice to go back to the ME3 system, meaning it is a beam and press the key just once. One can stop using that skill/ability by firing the weapon or weapon swapping.
I also do not understand the reason behind leveling up two of the same characters. Meaning a male and a female soldier, both same skills and abilities, both need to be leveled up. Unlike ME3 MP where the male and female charcters of the same class (adepts, engineers, infiltrators etc) where one would level up one character (male for example) and the female will be leveled up as well. This made sense since the only difference is the gender. I am the type of person who likes to have all the characters at max level, but the grind of male and female of the same class with the same skills/abilities is adding more to this (this is my opinion).
Bug feedback:
This bug happened to me (be specific): A few audio issues, where i would hear an enemy (lets say a fiend) behind me, yet that enemy is directly infrom of me. The same applies from enemy fire or friendly fire. At time it sounds near me, despite then not being there.
I am on PC, windows 10 64 bit, i5 7600K 4.2Ghz, MSI Z270 Gaming M5 motherboard, 16GB 2,100 Mhz Corsair ram, Nvidia GTX 1070 (all latest drivers, bios etc).

Playing on PC, I have 200mb up and down stream with < 5ms ping, so I always host when we play online. Played with three friends last night, all on the east side of NA. Network code seems to be taking the slowest connection speed and reducing the experience to their level for everyone else in the squad. Three of us on good connections were playing just fine, but a fourth joined on a very, VERY slow connection. Even though he was not host, every match we played was in slow motion. I reduced my quality settings right down to square pixels to see if that would help but it made no difference.
Audio - spatial audio is not working. Sounds are equalized across the map, you turn to see an enemy based on a sound but they are not there. I tried the game at PAX last weekend and thought it was just the configuration, but after having had a chance to tweak settings, nothing I did would fix it.
Also had the Soldier bug last night - now I see why it was crashing us.
Interactions with E are very tricky to initiate - you have to actually look down right at the symbol to perform the action (revive, defuse, etc). Seems the interaction area could be increased somewhat to make this easier, though I guess that may end up with inability to revive someone next to an objective.
Reloading - I am constantly reloading. Something is cancelling the reload, but it's kinda hard to tell what. Ammo crates that have allegedly got ammo in them (blue bars) did not refill me when I ran up to them.
Guess the best test I can do next is to try playing solo to see how different the experience is.
