Tried some of the augments, and I'm not pleased with their descriptions and functions. First, I made that pathfinder SMG (it originally has 75 shots per clip) with Vintage Heatsink and Heatseeking Plasma. It came out as having only 30 shots before overheating. Not sure which augmentation did this. Additionally, plasma projectiles move rather slowly and track only slightly (and only enemies you can get a power lock-on on), so it helps to combat weapon's inaccuracy against enemies that stand still, but moving enemies will likely dodge most of the projectiles. On a good side, Vintage Heatsink "reload" time is rather short, so putting it on one-shot-long-reload weapons might yield results. Second, I made Black Widow with Ricochet aug, and it made bullet drop unbearable, I can't shoot it father than 40 meters, if even that.

The best augments seem to largely be the ones you buy at the store and just stack 'em on. When you have 15+ slots, those 2/5% boost add up to something noticeable and useful in a hurry.

I'm surprised that people are complaining over the lack of ammo in the 'Vintage Heat Sinks'. There had to be some tradeoff otherwise no one would use the thermal clip system. And the way they are going about doing it is perfectly lore friendly, which is a mega plus. The very reason that the ME universe went over to the Thermal Clip system in the first place was it allowed for the deployment of more powerful weapons, which the old system could not handle the heat generated by them...in theory. Hence, it makes sense that a weapon will fire fewer shots per 'clip' then a weapon with thermal clips. You also have to remember, given this fact, that shotguns and snipers in the OT could only really shoot 2-3 shots in ME 1 in the first place. But, 30 shots for an SMG which automatically refil is not that bad.

Well the thing is that i tryed meny diffrent setups and no vintage heat sink option seems to be better then the remnant weps...
honestly i woud understand maby 30% lower clip and a lot longer "realoading" but honestly i dont see any reason to ever use it on higher difficulty...its simply to gimping..
maby doable on normal or easy but on higher difficultys the only reason i can see is if u dont want to use remnant weps and using it on a pistol like a last wep if all other ammo is done
to be honest theres so menny ammo catches all over its hard not to have full ammo all the time without heat sink...

Just made Mattock V with vintage hitsink, doubled the slots number up to 4 and of course added +43% clip mod. Gonna test it out tomorrow how that performs and if its worth it

Question regarding the Beam Emitter:
I currently use the P.A.W IX and with augments and mods, I get a 76 DMG (is that per second?)
If I add a Beam Emitter to a Mikly Way automatic rifle, like the Revenant, how does it affect the damage output?

But doesn't the Beam Emitter turn an automatic rifle not into a continuous beam?

But doesn't the Beam Emitter turn an automatic rifle not into a continuous beam? Visually? Yeah. Mechanically, I don't think so. I think the game calculates it as if it's a stream of bullets. I'm not sure though.
