The weak weekend challenges almost demanded that you did.

Oh yes, I used Alchemist and Hunter. It was pretty grindy. But I still played that with other people in-game who were there to get some free XP 

When you play a lot of games with bad PUGS you get enjoy semi-solo-ing eventually anways. Usually you have 3 useless decoys at the beginning of the wave, then they die one after another and don't have/use medigel and you have to finish the wave solo

Well, pugs taught me to stay as far away from them as I can manage. I hate standing in soft cover and still getting hit by splash damage from some useless decoy.

That's why I make it a point to never headshot a-bombs unless they are close to me. Revenge is a dish best served with massive explosions.

This is how you know you're doing it right. The amount of times you swear is directly proportional to the number of close calls you can get out of.

Doing the bronze/silver solos was fun, I actually enjoyed them. I still remember the rush I felt when the clock was ticking down for extraction on my 1st Gold solo....I wouldn't mind feeling that again. For the most part, these dayz when i solo, its because a challenge or multiple challenges are at 95% completion and I will solo just to knock them out really quick then quit the match. I never have attempted a platinum solo.

I'll do solo runs for the hell of it. I like the challenge. Max difficulty on all of my games.

Does throwing the controller and then assuming a crying, fetal position in the shower count?

You know, this has reminded me of the time I decided I was going to get the solo badge and that was the same time as I got my BOTB because the solos were the last thing I did to complete it. I've never used the BOTB badge while regularly playing because, well, it's a bit wanky isn't it? 'Specially if you're a pugger like me. I think Imma going to go over to the N7 HQ and change my badge, one last time before the release of MEA, to BOTB because, because... for old times sake. I'm looking forward to MEAMP but ME3MP deserves a last hurrah because it was great and I had lots and lots of fun with it.

I keep getting the feeling that Bioware hates the people that are too good at their games.

"Gold is gonna be super tough and you're gonna need great teamwork to beat it" Nah
"Soloing is impossible" Nah
"Platinum is basically the hardest difficulty in a game ever. 9/10 games won't extract" Nah

Now we have "the game isn't about soloing" and "gold games will be impossible without high prestige bonuses". I have a feeling that less thatn 48 hours after launch we'll have a gold solo video.
