A sequel to Andromeda, with Ryder as protagonist again. It's a must. If you keep changing your protagonist, you won't get attached as much to the characters or the story of the world.

Depending on how this games story ends, probably Andromeda 2. If not a sequel to this game, it would be interesting to do a Mass Effect set maybe 50 to 100 years after the events of Mass Effect 3. I'm okay with an 'Andromeda 2', but I really really won't want it to be more 'explore explore explore!'. I'm good with a theme change. And it can be a mix of more Andromeda galaxy AND other things, whether in location or realm, etc.

I imagine that Bioware are probably waiting for the reaction to Andromeda before going full-steam ahead on a sequel. I doubt they'll go back to the Milky Way unfortunately, since they don't want to commit to an actual canon ending to ME3.
I hope that it's a sequel to ME:A, since I love it when stories build up in games, especially in Mass Effect. I'm sure i'll grow to really like the characters and it'll put a bad twing on the end of the game if it's like "Oh, there's no chance you'll ever go on adventures with them ever again." I'm probably just postponing the heart break to Mass Effect: Andromeda 3 but i'm okay with that.
That said, I don't want a prequel game, like the first contact war game that some people have mentioned. We already know what happens!

If the next ME game isn't a sequel to Andromeda then: a) Andromeda better be a damn long game to contain a fully fleshed out good story. Like we talking Witcher 3 length. I would then like the next game to be set from a different persepctive. Instead of us being members of the Alliance. We should start of on the opposite side of the law, like Pirates or Bounty Hunters/Mercenary (we don't have to be bad guys, just forced to work with them due to circumstances) That way instead of being Alliance trained heroes, we could be start of as "Bad" guys who redeem ourselves through our heroic actions. Instead of having a military squad, it could more of a rag tag group of rebellion fighters for example.

A sequel to Andromeda, with Ryder as protagonist, again. It's a must.
It is probably opinion of many people who voted for AI sequel. I detected at least Skar with same wish.
However you miss an important -- side factor --. With or without Andromeda events backup ?
Frankly after experiencing how bioware managed it at ME1 2 and 3, I prefere they dont. I say bioware, but I m not sure any other studio could have make a better job with so many paramaters.
A sequel, is a good idea imo, using previous chapter accuratly (form each player point of view) certainly not. Or just for events without impact for lore/story, such as romances. For the rest impose a common core, whatever could have been players decisions.
Anyway I think the licence cant affort a second mess. Dev are aware of that, I sure. They promised nothing this time even not a chapter 2.

That said, I don't want a prequel game, like the first contact war game that some people have mentioned. We already know what happens! Okay, to be clear, we don't. It seems every so often, Bioware adds some sort of story of what happened there, who was involved, to whatever extent and sometimes not even on the site of battle but elsewhere. It wouldn't be impossible for Bioware to do a side game during the FCW that in terms of outcome, just allude to certain directions of relatively minor things that don't wouldn't strongly touch what we see in the trilogy. Bioware can add layer upon layer to things. Its not a question of whether they can do it - its a question of when we get sick of it.

@jallis: This is the safe title. I wouldn't be surprised at all if Bioware has, I dunno, dozens of crazier plans. But this is the safe title.
(Which is partially why I'm strangely salivating at the prospect of DLC.)
EDIT: I think DAI was the safe one too. The DLC was largely more interesting there as well.

A conflict between the alien Ark races where you'll play as a Human, Asari, Turian, Salarian or Krogan who become the problem-solvers as the Arks take their first steps beyond Heleus in the Andromeda Galaxy.

I think Bioware could go a number of different directions with their next ME game. Really Fox? The first game isn't out yet. And all I know so far is, we're sent to a new Galaxy.

Again it will depends on the failure or success of ME:A -so I can't really pick an option. If it fails they may be forced into a the horrible situation of killing the franchise. If it succeeds they could make a continuation in Andromeda or remedy the ME3 terror or maybe combine both or neither.

I would personally play the shit out of a First Contact War FPS. *raises flame shield* FPS? Nah. A game? Sure. Preferably a less ambitious 'side game' that wouldn't waste time but add some interesting stuff to the story. Problem is that only several hundred human lives and several hundred turian lives were lost. In total. So there could indeed be a faction of turians to fight in the FCW, but things would have to expand to maybe other sorts of turians secretly killed, and really a whole other plotline involving other enemies. Like imagine a public battle and then a secret battle of some sort. Basically begin/end/whatever with FCW but shift to something else. The war wasn't big enough to be the scale we expect in Mass Effect games.

Be great fun mate

I would be down for the next game to have a Krogan Quad slider......much like the Conan Dick one, but 4 x the 'engorgement' index.
