Can pickup a AMD RX480, nice upgrade and very reasonable in prices. Can get those in 4g or 8g for around $200.

Film grain can help mask low-resolution or just play ugly textures. It also is a decent way of hiding jaggies to the naked eye when AA is at a low setting. But damnit Bioware, where's the FOV slider?!!! They confirmed there's an FOV slider, it's probably under the gameplay or control options instead of graphics Actually, they said "they will think about it if there is enough demand". Do not hold your breath.

Thank you! Though, he says nothing about slider or whether it will be a separate option or bound to motion blur as it made is now. Would be so nice if someone asks.

Those are in ''graphics settings'' tab, FOV slider should be (hopefully) in the ''display/screen settings'' or just in default settings tab.

There is little else that I, or the people I love, can rant as lividly about in terms of video game effects that could EVER compare to MOTION BLUR.
I hate motion blur so much I want to hunt down all the effects in the same family with it and murder them almost as brutally.
Motion blur should go die, in a hole, 600 years away from Andromeda. It does NOTHING GOOD for a game's graphics, it JUST annoys and distracts the eye, and moreover, it SLOWS THINGS DOWN--exactly the opposite of what it should do. It's the worst idea ever in the history of video game effects. There are other effects which annoy the life out of me, but nothing so much as the self-defeating motion blur.
I have never met someone who was like, "aww, man, I love motion blur. Games without motion blur make me sad."
Go away, motion blur. No one likes you. No one wants you, even as a default-unchecked solo box in options.

You can't disable > I an S. Frazier @tibermoon DoF and motion blur INDEPENDENTLY, but if there are a lot of requests for that, we might add it in a patch. Now I am even more confused.

If you absolutely hate motion blur and are on PC, you can manually disable it by creating a user.cfg file and putting the following lines into it:
WorldRender.MotionBlurEnable 0 WorldRender.MotionBlurQuality 0 WorldRender.MotionBlurMaxSampleCount 0
You can do a lot with that .cfg file, Frostbite's cvars are all documented and can be manipulated from there if BioWare's options menu doesn't provide what you need.

Indeed, I mixed up depth of field and field of view! Great, not it's all clear and I can stop worry about common sources of motion sickness.

Hopefully I can turn off Chromatic Abberation on consoles too, that's such a shit "feature" in so many games now. It looks like absolute garbage.

Candyland just released their video comparing the different graphics presets. See the description for info on their setup and exact settings they tested.
I'm still hoping there will be an in-depth comparison between each individual setting at some point (like how much changes between lowest and highest effects quality, for example) - if anyone finds something like that please point me there! But in the meantime this is useful.

That's the thing I like about graphics these days even at low textures you can get a decent amount of visual quality.

Whenever I turn off Film Grain in ME2 it just sticks out to me how flat and empty it all looks underneath. It's all about vibes. Film grain = best vibes. I'll take your word for it - I prefer it crisp and clear (I'd love to turn off motion blur, too! Hate it, stuff blurs naturally anyway, so no need for that IMHO!) greetings LAX ps: I want more time (the wait is killing me after the 10 hour trial - yes, I burned through that last night...couldn't sleep...ok, I have 50 minutes left, but I've done all the side missions offered, I've farmed research points, I've looked for minerals, I've done the story up to the point you can (thought I'd found a bug, too when I tried to activate a remnant console and it didn't work after I supposedly did everything I had to - turns out: You need to advance the story first - I wen't backwards (did the hardest stuff first...but can you blame me? That Remnant structure defended by Kett looked so interesting ^^ so I took out the "trash" as Drak would say and went about looting the place ) pps: I hate them observers - biotics don't really work on them, they are so fucking mobile and their weapons are strong, too

What is chromatic aberration? it sounds like a b movie monster. I don't know what most of these are. Safe zone adjustment? Is my danger zone in danger? The popularity of chromatic aberration in games is more of a mental aberration. It doesn't seem to be used very accurately, though; because as a photography term it's a fault of the lens where light of different wavelengths get refracted at slightly different angles, and result in a blurry image whose colors look split up and out of focus. Whereas in games they're imitating a f*cked up CRT that can't focus the RGB channels properly, resulting in a similar split up image. I believe the CRT error has another name. (Note that I'm not an expert; in fact I'm an idiot, and this is likely false.) It looks OK in games where f*cked up CRTs have a thematic role, e.g. Alien Isolation. But anywhere else it's a stupid distortion for the sake of distortion. Though I guess its real purpose is to hide awful textures or sauce up 'cinematic' framerates, to make them look less like a slideshow by blurring the image up a bit. Previously they were trying make people blind by excessive lens flares and bloom effects; now the challenge is to make people puke, I guess. Much as it hurt my eyes, it worked really well in Soma. As you said, it's more on a thematic level, though. Motion blur, film grain and Chromatic Abberation are just things you should turn off right from the start. At least Inquisition gave us an idea of what to add to a user.cfg to toggle setting that have been bundled together with Post Processing again.
