internal data storage, eh... would not all the data storage be treated as external by the geth considering their software-based ai nature?

Objection received. Specifying.
We have noticed a common misconception about the geth being able to exist without hardware which is based on the fact that we are purely software. While this is partially correct, as we are not tied to quantum blueboxes like AIs and can be transferred, we still require hardware to be stored on to function, as well as hardware to store external data. Before the Creators' attack, we were building a megastructure that would house many geth units, store all their memories and eventually end our isolation from each other. If we could exist without hardware, building such structures would have been deemed unnecessary. However, without such structures that allow us to function together, our efficiency is limited.
