I have been going back and forth about buying the guide book.
Most games that I buy are after months of their release on the market. All the information is on the Web and at my fingertips at that point.
I had the guide upon release of ME3 and DAI. ME3 helped with the sidequests and DAI helped with choices and overall guidelines.
I'll be playing MEA upon release.. do you recommend getting it?
Better yet, going in without a guide on your first playthrough frustrated or enhanced your RP going "blind"?

I almost broke my hip running into this thread. I thought you had gotten the guide early or it leaked.

I will get it. Even though you can get everything online I find having the guide right there as I play if I need anything to be convenient. Also I will use it to find out who my Ryder can Romance on day one since the devs are being so stingy.

Haha and to answer your question I think it's a real convenient thing to have. I'm gonna get it. I never got the guide before because I was always broke as hell. But now with two jobs shouldn't be a problem. I'm already spending about 180ish on the game + external hard drive because my Xbox One is full.. what's a little more money? EDIT: lol title is fine I just jumped to conclusions haha

I'm still on the fence but I can't see myself not being able to know who I can romance and everything I can do in an area before moving on. I used the DAI guide like crazy to complete the sidequests.

I bought the limited edition one, it's the first guide I ever bought so I have no idea how often I'd be checking it or if it'll be a fancy paperweight

Don't get me wrong, I will use it for other games in the future. Lol. Thanks for the recommendation! I'm actually playing FFX/X-2 HD remaster atm. I'm just hopping between BF1, FFX, SW4, and random games while waiting for MEA!

Some of my friends notice it and ask me what book is that!? I'm like..It's just a guide, bro.

Couldn't afford the PS4 Pro because moving out time in September plus I wanna keep my car. Very hard to do for a full time student. So Xbox One will have to do. Will definitely play it next year in 4K though. Btw do you or does anyone here know what is the difference between special and collector's? Just the art? EDIT: ^^^Just saw collector's is hard cover too.

I have already pre-ordered the Collectors Edition. I usually get the strategy guide for any RPG I plan on playing. I know within a few days it will all be online, but I tend to play during those few days so having it there really helps for the first playthrough and it is a lot easier to just have it there for subsequent playthroughs. Plus I absolutely love books.

I would never bother with a commercial strategy guide for any game. Give it two weeks and a stockpile of vastly superior and perfectly free guides will be available from the community from players who are better and understand the game better than the developers and the people who wrote the guide.

Yah but ain't nobody gonna wait two weeks. I'm getting my pre-ordered copy the SECOND the store opens and I'm running home to play immediately. All the info at my fingertips will be a blessing.

Yah I was going to pre-order from EB games since I pre-ordered the game with them as well but I couldn't find the guide on their site available for pre-order. Maybe only the American Gamestop has it

Sucks that they don't have the guide. I'll probably go with Amazon since it's cheaper than bioware.

I see where you are coming from. That's why I was iffy until recently looking for feedback from everyone. I guess dropping another 40 dollars on the guide will not hurt.

I guess its what you feel you need the guide for. If its a walkthrough or puzzle solution, well I guess a guide could help although you could probably google anything you got stuck on. If it is actual combat strategy then I am extremely contemptuous of strategy guides. They tend to be terrible and give you bad and simply false information. The guys who write the guide tend to not be very good at the game.

O.O Yep both gamester and bioware the shipping is more than half the price of the guide! lol and Amazon says cheap shipping takes 7 days. I assume it ships out on 21st? Or a little earlier. Idk because the only reason I want guide is to have it for day 1. I might just pay 10$ on Amazon to get the E-Guide. That way I have access to it day 1. A little less convenient though.. Unless I call EB games tomorrow and they say they'll get it just that it isn't on their site haha. Who knows. I'll decide tomorrow.
