I don't really think there have been mixed reviews about the trailer. It currently has about a 95% "like" rating. There are some vocal people complaining about the music choice and that it features Scott and not Sara, but they are a minority. I think the trailer and most of the recent videos have positive feedback.
As for the score, I'm thinking 87/100 from professional reviewers (IGN and the like) and from users on metacritic...I dunno. It's such a crapshoot. People are going on there and giving Zelda BOTW a 0 without playing it just to "balance the Nintendo fanboy 10's". So I'll guess 68/100 user review for stupid reasons like "but mah endings!!" and "where's Liara?" and "screw EA!"
People really do suck, don't they.

True but that's why it wouldn't hurt for once to see the female side. The sad hard truth is it makes sense for marketing. Fans already know about Sara. Most of your casuals who will only see the launch trailer and nothing else will be guys. If they see a girl kissing some guy they will not want to play the game. It is sad but true. And another unfortunate truth is female gamers are used to the male advertising and will just go and find out more about the game. Sad but true. Or it's because they are alternating the footage releases between male and female? |

Actual game reviewers will give this about an 8 maybe 8.5/10 i think.
Whereas user scores will be shit, like 5/10. Just because people like to complain and whine about the smallest of details and those that do complain are very vocal about it.
I'm going in expecting this to be my 2nd favourite game after Witcher 3 (a stupidly high bar). But thats just me because I love ME games.

Metacritic? Who gives a F@*k? These are the people who tell me "Homeland" is better than "Game of Thrones", that "The Force Awakens" is better than "Guardians of the Galaxy", and that "Civilization VI" is better than "Endless Legend". The Metacritic score has a sigma greater than its mean (i.e. its near worthless).
And the User scores manage to be worse. Seriously, the average User score is set by an internet troll or fanboi who would rather spend time typing up poorly constructed paragraph on Metacritic than actually playing a game. Who cares about their individual opinions, let alone the collective average of their scores?
I'd rather select games by picking the last item in a Steam Discovery Queue than pay any attention to Metacritic.

Like, they showed clips from some of the male romances but not the female ones, what is up with that? I don't disagree, but this is the wrong thread for this discussion. Try the Sara Ryder thread. Both are great, but i loved TFA. (Rogue Squadron is the best though) |
