I'm intrigued to see what differences they may have built for the fitness tree this time around. Hopefully we'll see more along the lines of the paladin or drell fitness tree with additional bonuses other than simply health or melee damage If it stays the same as it was, I imagine we won't need to invest too much into fitness.

I'm thinking that it won't. They've hardly made any changes to the mass effect 3 multiplayer so I expect to be investing no more than two ranks of fitness into most builds just like before, probably with some exceptions. But then there's the health regeneration mechanic that they talked about in regards to prestige and stat bonuses so I'm intrigued to see whether that'll affect survivability on gold and higher, and how it'll interact with fitness. So many questions!!

It depends on what they actually do with the Fitness tree. In SP you can see that the soldier's Combat Fitness ability offers more than just shields and health. They have evolutions named things like Consumables and Extra Holster.
At the very least, I think they know how the community felt about fitness.

From the very little I have seen, in MEA there doesn't seem to be something like ME3 Fitness per se, but rather different defensive passives with different names.

We'll have to wait untill we can see how the damage is, and how the bonus health and shield will work. Remember that the promote system will work like in DAIMP, so you get higher base stats over time.

I build fitness in almost every one of my classes in me3mp. It is not often that I use all three skill powers a lot in a match. I will use two a lot but not three. There are a few exceptions but inmost cases it is better for me to get that boost from fitness that will let me take an extra shot or two than otherwise.

Why don't take Fitness,if you can? Where else would you spend all those spare points? Which spare points? I always viewed fitness as bonus. If one of the other powers had a 6th evolution I couldn't or wouldn't take advantage of then I put 3 in fitness. If there were two powers like that I could go 4 into fitness. Never made a massive difference but probably more useful over time than an extra evolution I would never have used.

Isn't fitness important? I mean for health sake? I always think that my characters dies so easily and I wonder if it has anything to do with less points in the fitness category.

If you're in a position to die you're going to die whether you have maxed fitness, no fitness or anything in between. Avoiding taking damage is the best defense. That being said, a little bit of extra fitness made a difference in barely escaping trouble for me a few times.

Soft cover and right-hand advantage is probably what they mean. It's just another way to avoid taking damage. Most anti-fitness types will make the case than the best way to not die is to kill everything really fast so putting every possible point in offense is ideal. Again, I agree, to an extent. I maintain that fitness is/can be useful.

Not for people who are good at the game. Unfortunately this is where I am a bit worried. If the Prestige system is anything like Inquisition's multiplayer then this is going to be a long grind.

If there's nothing else you need in that equipment slot, a Cyclonic will give you much more Shields than Rank 6 Fitness would. You can run 0 Fitness and a Cyclonic II and that's durable enough. Cyclonic III and IV are even excessive once you've attained a certain skill level.
