Completely underwhelming... I spent the entire video hoping the narrator would just shut up so we could hear more Jaal conversations and actually get a feel for his character... rather than just being told what his character is.
Not knocking Jaal himself here (before i'm set upon!) just the video itself.

Jaal and the angarans look like they'll be interesting. As a new species I expect I'll use him a lot.
I really don't like the design of the females though.

Jaal...seems interesting. I'm getting a Shepard/Garrus vibe with him and Ryder as the game continues. The overall design seems to be more on the weird side of things (that shot that showed all 4 models) made the Angara design look a bit off, but I guess Bioware is trying to create different designs in terms alien species and I can't fault them for that. Female counterparts look a bit creepy tho....  |

I'm still not a huge fan of the Angara design, but Jaal seems interesting. Jaal himself is... fine, although to me he still looks blocky as hell. The rest of the Angarans don't look half as good. Yeah, I can't with those shoulders... I actually prefer the design of the females. |

This speculation maybe spoilery? But it's still just speculation so meh.
I don't necessarily think the Kett are Angara, could be, but I think the Kett use other races they encounter and clone/capture/alter them for combat purposes. Kinda like a slave army but more genetic altering. Think that's why a lot of the baser forces look similar to other stuff plus that Krogan looking thing in the trailer.
Also on the topic of a 'resistance' it just requires people getting a militia of some kind together to fight against some opposing force to their lands. Such as a tyrannical government or an occupying force - weather or not that said government worked with them or was toppled to be conquered. Considering the kett showed up '80 years ago' I have a feeling it's kinda been a shit show for the Angara for a good while now heh.
edit: Also Jaal sounds pretty awesome. Kinda curious how his plasma sniper plays. Wondering if it'll be a low count high dmg or more like a DMR, more quicker shots and all that. Kinda like a beefy mattock.

Loved his VA's voice without that FX. Now - not so much. Need to have a closer look for better judgement, but it's kinda disappointing.
I have to admit, that they were right to keep him for the closure. That 'mystery alien LI' trick had worked, and the presentation is rather lacklustre.
(Their race Sounds like a mix of twilek, naavi and voss to me.)

Angara resistance....to be a resistance you need to be or used to be part of something you are currently resisting from. I suspect the Kett and the Angaran had a common history. The Khet may be the Angara. The vid says that Angara taken prisoner by the Khet are never seen again. That is a bit odd, isn't it? What if they're being transformed into the Khet? Maybe it is connected with Remnant tech somehow, and the original Khet were Angaran explorers that were transformed by something down in the Remnant vaults.   There are some similarities in the facial features at least. The nose and jaw share a very similar shape, and both have wide set eyes. |
