Personally 2 of my favorite tracks are from the dlcs of ME2. Really makes those battles stand out

i thought End of an Era in Citadel DLC had a distinct quality of nostalgia marking the end of the last mission and the end of Shepard.

For all the games' flaws, I sill love that scene...

While DAI's soundtrack was pretty good, I feel like Mass Effect's soundtrack is more iconic and attached to the franchise compared to Dragon Age. There are tracks that just scream Mass Effect, like Suicide Mission, Vigil, Uncharted Worlds, etc. They are almost part of its DNA. I find it more difficult to say the same thing about any Dragon Age soundtrack, even though individual tracks might be good, there is no unifying themes throughout the franchise.

Like I said, I am in totally in favor of trying out new sounds and music in MEA, being in a new galaxy and all. However, I just want it to be closer to the trilogy's soundtrack than DAI was compared to DAO/DA2, since Mass Effect has a more memorable/iconic soundtrack. 

Basically, the shift in soundtrack in DAI from DAO/DA2 was good because there was never a repeating pattern of soundtracks, consistency or memorable tracks that transferred between games. Kind of like how we had different protagonists every time, so different musical themes are good.

However, because Mass Effect has more iconic songs and more of a consistency between games in terms of themes/tracks, I hope MEA keeps some of those themes. No need to actually repeat songs from the trilogy, but don't go in a brand new direction like DAI either.

Also, just to add to the feels train going on

Vigil's theme makes babies and puts them to sleep.

Don't know any lullabies? Boom, Vigil's theme. Got Insomnia? Boom! Vigil's theme. Need to ponder your most recent poor decision? Boom! Vigil's Theme. Need to "Majestify" any moment in your life? Boom. Vigil's Theme.   Need to get the Illusive Man to shut the fuck up.  You guessed it.  Boom, Miranda's ass.  Then Vigil"s Theme. 




All them other songs just be playin.

Uncharted Worlds, The Illusive Man and the Mass Effect Theme are the 3 tracks I can listen to endlessly without getting bored. I get chills listening to all of them, everytime.

Every time you open the Galaxy Map, every time you encounter TIM, every time that Mass Effect leitmotif plays. Is it weird that I'm kind of hoping Cora's theme (if she has one) incorporates some elements of The Illusive Man's (if they are in fact related)?
