In regards to Tunon:
I understand that if you have enough favor with him he will support you no matter which faction you choose, not Bleden Mark though. Yes It depends on Favor and how you defend yourself in court. On Vendrien Guard faction I was able to convince Tunon that I was in fact, keeping to the tenets of the law better even than the Overlord. That I was in the right and Kyros was wrong. Tunon then switched sides.
Bleden Mark still...bled...though

Concerning the quest Final Judgment: I suppose it's impossible to find enough evidence against the Voices of Nerat for Tunon to convict him if you've been following the Disfavored path up until then? I'm very certain that I've scoured every nook and cranny that I've had access to, but was only able to accuse him of sedition and war crimes with a couple of pieces of evidence for each. Tunon deemed it insufficient.
And I assume if you're siding with either the factions from the Tiers or the Chorus, you'd get more opportunities to gain favor with Bleden Mark? Because I've barely seen him outside of bumping into him at Tunon's court the couple of times I've been there, but judging from the dialogue before he attacked me, he can swear fealty to you just like Tunon if you have enough favor with him.

I actually managed to get enough evidence against him following the Disfavored path on my first playthrough, or at least I remember getting him a death sentence from Tunon, but that was awhile ago and I can't rightly tell you what evidence I used.

Tyranny sounds the most to my liking from the three post-Obsidian games in 2015-2016. I might pick it up in the fall when I have time for it.
edit: saw a 50% discount code for it. If it is still valid, I'll pick the game tonight. Feel bad though about shortchanging an indie game.

Yes, I saw it and that's why I thought maybe it's better to wait till they package it as a game+ DLC. It sounds like the only drawback of the game for me is that it is rushed in Act 3, so if DLC addresses that it would be nice. But if DLC is insignificant, then who cares. Descisions, decisions....

Did not work out with the code, so I would wait for summer sale/DLC news. But thanks again for mentioning the game here, I will watch the Obsidian Renaisssance.

FINALLY! It is also on 50% sale, so yay! But, I guess, now I have to wait for free update and Bastard's Wound before purchasing? Because the free update is where the fixes are for the ending?

I don't see any ending fixes in the notes. What was the problem?

I don't see any ending fixes in the notes. What was the problem? The free update is supposed to add more voicing and beef up the ACT 3, which was the main point of criticism. I think if I wait, I can get both DLC and main game and update to get a nicely padded and fixed up product. DLC 1 is also 9$, while they discounted base game to 30$ from inflated price of 60$. At a guess, I will be able to pick a bundle or discounted DLC1 once dlc 2 drops.

What it says:
Quote: "Loyalty and Service: Bastard’s Wound will arrive alongside a free update to Tyranny, including new voice-acting, expanded content in the game’s third act, and an all-new path to an unseen ending. What fate awaits those who remain truly loyal to Kyros?"
So, it sounds like a major content patch.

No, today's patch is just fixes and NG+ addition rather than the upcoming new content Update:

^ Same here. I'll just wait for the expansion in order to start a complete playthrough which will include all the new stuff!
Oh and btw, I find it cool that they decided to enlarge the game! I liked it but I found it was a little short and that some things needed to be more fleshed out, like the companions. I heard that the expansion will add more to their backstories and also loyalty quests for some of them.

So Tyranny is 50% off on Gog, worth the purchase? Don't know that much about it really.

So Tyranny is 50% off on Gog, worth the purchase? Don't know that much about it really. I'd say if you like "old school" isometric rpgs, then yes. In the game you are a "Fatebinder", an enforcer for Kyros, who is the Evil Overlord of the game. So you have to navigate a world where, essentially, the bad guys won, and you helped make it happen. The story is about what comes after.

So Tyranny is 50% off on Gog, worth the purchase? Don't know that much about it really. Is it 50% off the 60$ or 50% off the $30? I'd say buy it, if it is off $30, wait if it is of 60$. Steam was playing dirty games with the title in the last month, suddenly upping the price basically to 200% (to $60), while you can always buy it from paradox for 30. Then they "discounted" it to $30 for the day the DLC#1 was released.
The game has an unusual setting (pseudo Bronze Age) and modular story delivery (i.e depending on your faction choice, you play a different path through the game), and has the most edited writing, so it's the most unusual of the three games and the most compelling of the three Obsidian revival games imo.
I am waiting for patch and the second DLC. IMO, because the patch is supposed to add to Act 3 (which is reported to be very short) + add new VOs (not numerous), and atm the first DLC is priced at $9 without adding much content and introducing new bugs. So, my assessment is to wait, let them integrate the second DLC, bug fix and then buy once the whole package goes on sale at a price that is more reasonable for an isometric indie game than current $60 + $9 = ~ $70 or even with the 50% off discount of ~ 40$ for the game + DLC #1, b/c then you will have to buy the second DLC at a full price too, bringing the price of the package to almost $50 & still play the unfixed version.
The game is not aging because it's SP that is using a waaay dated delivery, so letting it sit, while it's being fixed and patched is a win-win for a user who have not bought it yet imo. It will be both better and cheaper by Christmas, me thinks.

You can work "within the system" to try and make things better, or serve Kyros faithfully, side with one of a couple of factions within this region of the empire, or go "F*ck it, I'm carving out my own kingdom!"

Initially, I wanted to buy a few games on Steam during the summer sales, b/c imo the less transactions with a credit card over the net on US-based sites, the better, but my wishlist changed a lot since then, so I might as well wait till winter and see what's up. Early adopting is not a good idea with videogames for someone like me Tyranny's patch/DLC2 announcement is a major reason to wait imo.

The base game is $45 on GoG. It's 50% off that, so $22.50 You can also get the "bundle" which includes the portrait pack and Tales from the Tiers DLC for 42% off or $32.47 And the setting is Bronze Age, rather than Stone. With iron just starting to become a thing A quick question before i purchase - What is the Tales from The Tiers DLC? I haven't played it myself yet, but my understanding is it includes new sidequests, random encounters, items, backstory about the Tiers, etc. Also, New Game+ as an option as well as the ability to respec your character.
