I don't feel awkward or anxious playing Andromeda around others, and your words don't affect me. Many others, however, are coming out of their shells for the first time in their lives. This is the first time many are enjoying the beautiful charcters that has been animated for us - and it IS beautiful. Incredibly so. DON'T ruin this for them. We Mass Effect fans may have our differences, but we will not hesitate to come to the aid of our fellow explorers, especially against someone who so virulently slurs that which has brought us all together.

I pity you.
I'm sorry that you feel this way towards us. I'm sorry that Andromeda is such a bane to your existence. And I'm sorry that you are missing out on such a wonderful experience. Amazing game, if they fix some of the bugs (i mean not the facial or animation) then this game is an absolute gem. The Multiplayer is amazing as well.

Not a fan of that reviewer. He went on a rant before about how he disliked a racing game because there were female drivers. I haven't watched the Andromeda review video but I'm guessing he hates the diversity in Andromeda too? His anti-pc/sjw rant: That's disingenuous. He criticised it because the game is based on Formula One where there are very few (or any?) women racers and the game is intended to be a representation of real life. It's the equivalent of having female NFL or NHL players in their respective sports franchises. Neither league has female athletes... How am I being disingenuous? I said " He went on a rant before about how he disliked a racing game because there were female drivers.". My statement is 100% true. He literally went on a rant about there being female drivers in the game. Your comparison to the NFL and NHL would have a bit of validity IF the game he's referring to was a licensed Formula 1 game...but it's not. It's a fictional top-down motorsports management game and he's upset that they chose to make fictional female drivers along with the fictional male drivers. It really is just a bigoted rant at its core. |

It really is just a bigoted rant at its core. You know what the best part is? This is one of the few videos he has up where he refrains from swearing constantly. The odd "Fook" and "shiite" still get in there, but it isn't the typical Niagra Falls of profanity that currently has him banned from my family's living room. Its a weird little verbal tick that indicates this is an "issue" he takes _very_ seriously. |

But no one implied anything about a woman's ability to drive an automobile. Okay let's take a look at the facts: -The title of the video is "Games Are Becoming Too PC". PC being Politically Correct in this case. -He's goes on to say that he imagined the developers having a conversation and " some little spineless twat" said " we really should make half of the drivers women". -Next he says having women in the game " ruins the game completely". -The next part is the most ironically telling part to me: He says the the point of games is immersion; " you've got the real world, that we're in now, which is so messed up"; " so you jump into a game and you want that immersion". This part doesn't make much sense to me because he's saying the real world is messed up, while also saying he wants his games to be exactly like the real world. It doesn't make sense because he's simply trying to rationalize his irrational bigotry. -He then says " through the power of gaming, I can now be a formula 1 manager". Now that leads me to wonder why he has such an issue with a women being a formula 1 driver through the power of gaming. Why is it okay for him to live out a dream via gaming, but it's not okay for a woman to? -Then he says how upset he is when " Emma with her pink f***ing helmet on" overtakes his driver. -Followed by " Thankfully there's a mod coming out that's gonna fix all that and put the proper formula 1 drivers in take out all the stupid women that are in it". I could go on and on dissecting the video but I hope you get the point now. Hate to break to to you, but no matter how you try to spin it; or how hard you try to play devil's advocate, the video is nothing more than a sexist/bigoted rant. |

MEA is the first ME game to give me a bad impression leading up to release. I'm curious to see how it's received by gamers. I won't be surprised if the media overrates it. Well I can tell you, after playing 10 hours of it with the EA Access trial, that it's an excellent game. Of course it has it's flaws, primarily character creation and facial animations, but I had a ton of fun playing it and can't wait for the 21st to dive into the full game. I'm not entirely sure why it's become so popular to hate on ME:A on youtube and other outlets lately, but take a look at any of the polls on these forums and you'll see that the people who've actually played the game, people who don't stand to gain anything from having certain opinions, love the game. Many youtubers are band-wagoners love echoing popular yet controversial "opinions", and the internet eats it up. Once the full game is released, hopefully most of this undue hatred of the game will go away. Again...it's not perfect but cmon...we live in the real world...nothing is perfect...but it's an awesome game. Well I haven't passed judgement on it yet.  I'll eventually do the EA Access, assuming they have it after release? I don't have any opinion about most of it right now, like the combat, mechanics, narrative, etc. It's the overall style, the "look", that I'm not terribly fond of right now. |

I've pre-ordered. I am sitting here lethargic and sad because my trial time is over and I won't be able to play Andromeda again until Tuesday night....if everything goes perfectly, which never happens. But I have to admit, MEA's creative team is clearly a MUCH bigger fan of James Cameron's "Avatar" than I am. I'm more of a "Last Airbender" & "Korra" fan. Hmmm... I wonder if I can make Sara look like Korra in the (horrible horrible horrible, yes I know) CC? |
