There may be sea dragons in DA4! Reddit theory seems pretty plausible to me: https://www.reddit.com/r/dragonage/comments/53yd5j/spoilers_all_solas_may_have_leviathans_up_his/ Well, we know there are creatures known as a Cetus that live in the Boeric Ocean that is around Par Vollen and Seheron. Since it is heavily implied we will be going to Tevinter and probably Seheron or Par Vollen since the Tevinter-Qun war is starting, we may see them. The Qunari call them "aban-ataashi", meaning "sea dragon". A Cetus/Aban-ataashi:

Sea dragons would require swimming mechanic... *dreams* And once you've got that sorted, it's just quick jump to flying. I approve. Griffons?

In the whole DA franchise the sea was never created nor scripted.

Or we just get a dragon and everyone rides it like Appa. Well, we know there are creatures known as a Cetus that live in the Boeric Ocean that is around Par Vollen and Seheron. In the whole DA franchise the sea was never created nor scripted. Storm Coast. Wounded Coast. Lake Calenhad in two games (fresh water, but still a giant body of water). Its been created. I don't think we'll swim to fight a sea dragon. In fact, swimming with it seems like a surefire way to die against a sea monster. lol But I'd love to see a set piece fight on a boat. (I think that's the term?) I'd also love to see cetaceans in Thedas, cus few visuals beat a pod of dolphins joining your ship's wake as you glide through the waves to me. Also whales are cool. Though who knows how friendly or not the Thedosian versions are. Might be the freaky kind like Dishonoured, with tentacles on their faces and such, if Ghilly made them. >_>

To this day, after playing DAO nine times, I have no idea how that conversation goes if you roleplay something other than 'completely obsessed with griffins.' All of my Wardens, no matter what they were otherwise like or what their relationship with Wynne was, obnoxiously chose every 'BUT GRIFFINS!' option available .

I absolutely love it. I was playing it next to my bf once a few months ago and he found it the funniest thing in spite of not knowing what was really going on. Love the scene as well and have never picked anything different. I'll wager the responses pale in comparison "Yes there are griffons in this story"

Just thought I'd mention that since Mythal was born of the sea and is likely originated as some sort of water spirit, she might well have some sort of control over the sea dragons. This could even be why her henchman, Solas (Pride) persuaded Ghilan'nain to spare them. With Mythal now co-existing within Solas he could definitely have power over water creatures. It wouldn't be that difficult to arrange for a sea dragon to attack someone on the shore or even have a battle at sea. I'm really hopeful of a trip to Seheron next game, so it could tie in with that.

Anyway Mythal is not related to the sea and this critters were all related to Ghilanain.

Wounded Coast. Lake Calenhad ecc....that's really nice but we can't obviously define these locations as "water places" because we can't interact with water which is just reduced to be a decorative element. We can't swim,or go on immersion or be in a boat so in DA interaction with water does not exist.
