Andre Santos is a level designer at BioWare and has been Tweeting/Instagramming some fantastic shots of Portugal on his vacation over the last few days...
On his "About Me" page, he talks about some of the work he does...
Throughout the course of Dragon Age: Inquisition and the transition to the next generation of consoles I focused my skills on terrain generation, world building and level design. Additionally, I spearheaded a project to create a texture library (similar to CgTextures) and prepare our studio for photogrammetry practices.
Interesting... So now I have to wonder if part of this trip might also be to get ideas for architecture, environments, and to capture textures for use in the next DA. It'll be interesting to refer back to these photos when the new game comes out. Wasn't Antiva or Rivain supposed to be like Portugal?
Some time ago, someone pointed out that Thedas is a mirror image of Europe. I don't know if it was ever decided if Antiva was similar to Italy or Spain, or perhaps a combination of the two.

Yes, Antiva is a fictionalized version of a medieval Italian city-state like Venice. It's not a perfect comparison by any means, but then none of the Thedas nations are meant to be. They're inspired by real-world history, but that's where it remains.
No, we did not use an Italian accent for Antiva. (They used Spanish)

Didn't Allegra use an Italian accent for Josephine?

Yup. While Castillon and Vincento are definitely Spanish. And you'll hear the occasional Spanish word like Sí amor or Maldición. Let's chalk it up to, say... regional dialect.
Mike Laidlaw @mike_Laidlaw See this? This is news I’m excited about, right here.
Alexis Kennedy @alexiskennedy I can finally announce that I'm the first ever guest writer for BioWare. weatherfactory.biz/biopost/ I DON'T HAVE THE EMOJI FOR THIS
Alexis Kennedy @alexiskennedy I should add re: my big announce: @patrickweekes is one of the half-dozen writers to whom I have sent Actual Fan Mail
aka IronRoy - Heart Breaker - Back Stabber - Plaideweave Lover - Vuvuzela - Proud Enabler - Uncaring - Immersion Breaker - Jedi Grand Master (4%) "My post #3000 told Lyn she's dead inside. I call it account mission complete. Wouldn't have wanted to spend it any differently." --Dieb
Well, I guess we now know one more person who is working on Another Dragon Age Thing!
I know a few people had the brilliant idea that they could wrap up the story of the Warden via a text game like The Last Court. Given Kennedy's background, I wonder if they were close to the truth ...
Since Alexis has worked on Stellaris, and this is a contract job, my guess is he's going to be working on the DA Strategy spin-off game Mark had the poll up for.

Nevermind. I mistook it to mean he was working on a novel.

"I'll be starting in January for a six-month-plus engagement," he revealed. "Writers are treated well at BioWare, but they're working within a clear structure - that they're samurai, not daimyo. I've been saying I'm a writing ronin, so I guess I'll get to sleep in their castle and eat their rice and fight their battles for a bit before I disappear into the howling fog once more."
Mike Laidlaw @mike_Laidlaw We'll even give you your choice of rice grain length!
seb han's sky @hanlsp “lurking menace, tight dialogue, and opportunities to do things you’ll regret” #goals

The "6 months from now" thing makes me think it's defo Dragon Age. Not to mention Laidlaw seemed to be the one who pulled him in.

Che-nanigans @nm_Che56 @alexiskennedy Would u say that you've found ur CALLING working with @mike_Laidlaw and @patrickweekes? #Punquisition
Alexis Kennedy @alexiskennedy I can neither say nor unsay; neither call nor uncalled; all phenomena in their own being are empty
Patrick Weekes @patrickweekes I am hugely looking forward to your non-answers, sir.
Fallen London and the Something Sea Games were pretty good. Looking forward to hear more news. (unless it's about Snake People.I'm against Snake People.)

Kidding aside, they've teased them enough in Hakkon and Descent (and wall/cliff paintings, and... whatever else) I think it's a safe bet they'll show up eventually.

To quote Indiana Jones: Snakes, why did it have to be snakes? *runs from the building screaming*

Not to mention all Emerald Graves paintings.
I actually can't wait when they show up.
They have to.
