Not necessarily. Weekes "noped" out of Daredevil because a true hero never, ever uses torture and always finds a better way, or other such cop outs. Not even against irredeemable scumbags to desperately save children from abuse, slavery, organ harvesting and/or death, apparently . The moment you torture, you aren’t a hero. The issue is that Patrick's comment implied that he wants to railroad the player into playing a "hero" when in reality I play Bioware games because I want them to give me a protagonist to play, not a hero. I certainly want Bioware to give me the option to play a "hero" but I also want them to give me the option to play a "villian," a utilitairan, a pragmatist or anything in between. (I also want my character to be able to evolve from hero to monster and vice versa.) I play Bioware RPGs because I expect choices and consequences; I don't want the writers railroading me into playing a certain type of character, which seems to be Patrick's intention here. I tried to give my inquisitor the "becoming a monster to beat monsters" arc with mixed and often unsastisfying results. And I feel like if they had stayed true to the writing in DA:O and DA2 this would have worked out better. I don't want Patrick or any writer imposing a proscribed ethical code for my character, I should be the one proscribing said ethical code.

But it ain't looking good ...

You know what’s interesting about the little figures on the cheese? They’re the three petrified pirates from Mark of the Assassin.
You can also find their statues in the Emerald Graves and the Storm Coast. Were they copied by some sculptor? Or were the pirates in MotA never really alive to begin with, but rather statues that somehow gained the desire to live?

And we've had this or similar topic arise before on different threads - and since people have different opinions about the topic, we know that this discussion can be endleeessss... so I don't think it should be continued on Twitter thread. Right, sorry I continued this, I just have very strong feelings about it. And not to continue the discussion here, but I just want to point out that I wasn't bashing Weekes or questioning his ability. I think he's a terrific writer and Solas is one of my favorite vilians in any fictional medium and one of my favorite DA charcters. (And Tresspasser was pheonomenal DLC minus the political angle, which has always been a Bioware-wide DA problem, not a Weekes specific one.) I also wasn't attributing some of the things I found disappointing about your options in Inquistion solely to Weekes -- I was just pointing out a Bioware-wide concern if DA continues to lose some of the more morally dubious decisions you get to make in DA:O and DA2. Not trying to conitinue the discssuion here though. Just wanted to pointed out that I am actually Weeks fan; I just vehnemelty disagree with that one comment of his and it played off some of the worries I have about DA:I (which I also loved despite some of the issues I had with it) and the franchise going forward. But one game does not a trend make so you're right, the jury's certianly still out.
