Pretty sure Harding is just referencing that people will compulsively pick up every elfroot (and really any crafting material) they see, whether they need it or not. This. And I actually hope it's just this and not a pot reference. I'm cool with my sibs being pot heads, but I'm not one, and I feel uncomfortable with the idea that every inky is canon a pot head. I thought the 3 lines in th eDLC were based off a Comic Strip where Inky would stop to pick elf root mid battle that was popular immediately after the game dropped, and so inspired the writers in time for the DLC |

Yeah, I assumed it was just a reference to the Inquisitor's compulsive collecting habit. Plus, elfroot remains useful the entire game and grows in nearly every region.

This cutscenes is a joke from years ago from how some people complained about having to grab elfroots in the old forum. Just like the ingame joke in Leviathan DLC about sync-kills from banshees.

Crappy joke or not, I wouldn't say the association is wrong. They have done that before in Witch Hunt. I don't own the DLC, so this is just second-hand information, but it seems there is a book in the circle library "This is Your Brain on Elfroot - a battered pamphlet that informs parents on the dangerous and addictive properties of elfroot." |

I wouldn’t be surprised if they meant it as the Inquisitor doing weed. They already force all our protagonists to be alcoholics, so a pohead is not much different. Not a fan of them doing either at all though.

I really really don't like it. It took the whole line from "haha we always be gathering the elfroot" with that one comic I found<- which sounded like cool fan dev interactivty and took it to this weird plce.
Edit Add: I actually meant to write that in a private screen, to discontinue the derail, but it's not too bad on it's own so whatever.
I will not continue to comment on the issue in THIS thread though, sorry.

I'm actually strongly considering going male man for w/e new PC we make in DA4 (all my canon is female so far) and I'd love this kind of option. I do not know which my ultimate canon character for my RPGs tend to be but I usually tend to, or am starting to, trying to flip character genders for my first PTs, and since Andromeda I went as a woman first thing I think my first PT of DA 4 will be a male. I just hope we get it. Obviously not going too far into my head canons but I WANT to play as sort of a Jon Snow clone in Thedas for my first PT and my second PT is, especially if they go classless like they did Andromeda, I will make her fairly similar to my Inquisitor. |
