What troubles? A shapeshifter doesn’t suddenly have an animal’s brain. They’re still themselves. So any ethical issues are moot.

I find it frustrating when press take facts that have been known publicly for some time ("folks moved on to Anthem") and start writing headlines like I'm dishing out fearmongering new info.

Still, let's view it as a chance to educate, rather than just be annoyed, yeah?

Team members moving to a project which is next up to ship is fairly normal, and happens often when you have multi project studios. Folks from various Mass Effect games have helped ship Dragon Age titles and vice versa.

When that happens it can impact dates or scope on either or both projects, but it is rarely catastrophic.

Ultimately, I've become a much much bigger fan of scopable designs that have that "Crumple zone" concept I talked about with game informer, because they are more robust and a more efficient way to fix a schedule.

Anyway, just a mild frustration borne out of the emotional wince I feel whenever a headline makes it look like I'm talking shit about a studio I very much respect, a world I love, and teams that employ quite a lot of friends whom I would rather not lose.

Mike Laidlaw can't possibly be that naive. Of course they are going to make clickbait out of anything negative he says, regardless of the facts. This is 2018! Facts are so Sixties!

Really, Mike. You did not have to choose the word, "skeleton crew." There's not much difference between that and Schreirer's "reboot." They both have fearmongering connotations.

I've never heard the term skeleton crew be used in a way where it has fearmongering connotations. 

Or it would be, if context wasn't given - and that is, that in Bioware reductions of that sort and temporary reassignments to work on project closest to release is basically a routine.

Was the context (that reducing crews down to the minimum is routine) given in the original interview?

I have apparently drunk deep of the company Kool-Aid, as I saw the mabari and took it as a totally normal thing an average person would have in their room, possibly next to a stuffed nug.
