Sorceress! Or Shapeshifting! Have sex with her when she suddenly transforms into a goat? Oh the (legal) troubles of having a shapeshifter as partner.

Or Shapeshifting! Have sex with her when she suddenly transforms into a goat? Oh the (legal) troubles of having a shapeshifter as partner. What troubles? A shapeshifter doesn’t suddenly have an animal’s brain. They’re still themselves. So any ethical issues are moot. The “S” stands for “sentient”.

Mike Laidlaw @mike_Laidlaw I find it frustrating when press take facts that have been known publicly for some time ("folks moved on to Anthem") and start writing headlines like I'm dishing out fearmongering new info.
Still, let's view it as a chance to educate, rather than just be annoyed, yeah?
Team members moving to a project which is next up to ship is fairly normal, and happens often when you have multi project studios. Folks from various Mass Effect games have helped ship Dragon Age titles and vice versa.
When that happens it can impact dates or scope on either or both projects, but it is rarely catastrophic.
Ultimately, I've become a much much bigger fan of scopable designs that have that "Crumple zone" concept I talked about with game informer, because they are more robust and a more efficient way to fix a schedule.
Anyway, just a mild frustration borne out of the emotional wince I feel whenever a headline makes it look like I'm talking shit about a studio I very much respect, a world I love, and teams that employ quite a lot of friends whom I would rather not lose.

Mike Laidlaw can't possibly be that naive. Of course they are going to make clickbait out of anything negative he says, regardless of the facts. This is 2018! Facts are so Sixties! Really, Mike. You did not have to choose the word, "skeleton crew." There's not much difference between that and Schreirer's "reboot." They both have fearmongering connotations.

Galadriel1010 @lexyneedham People seem to like to print the worst version they can, and then readers like to read even worse into it. The impact of social media on fan cultures is one of my favourite subjects, but it must be exhausting at times.
Mike Laidlaw @mike_Laidlaw It is exceptionally so. Any interview you do or even tweet you make has become almost risky. Except dad jokes. They are always safe.

I've never heard the term skeleton crew be used in a way where it has fearmongering connotations. All the time. Especially in sports*. Sometimes in military or machinery operations. To reduce to a skeleton crew means to reduce a team (any team) down to the bare minimum, and this is rarely a positive thing. Almost always negative. So if you're using a word that almost always has a negative feeling accompanying it in a way that's supposed to be neutral or positive, then you done mucked up. * Barça's midfield reduced to a skeleton crew: With Rafinha set for a lengthy spell on the sidelines, the Catalans have been left with only three central midfielders (Ivan Rakitic, Andrés Iniesta and Sergi Roberto) and two holding midfielders (Sergio Busquets and Javier Mascherano) to cover three positions until January 2016.

Or it would be, if context wasn't given - and that is, that in Bioware reductions of that sort and temporary reassignments to work on project closest to release is basically a routine.

I know what skeleton crew means. I've hardly ever seen it have a negative context (granted I don't really watch or follow sports like the example you used). The article made it obvious that it wasn't a negative context, so there is nothing wrong on his part for using it.

John Scalzi @scalziNew data vault currently backing up and encrypting every piece of data I own. With guard dog. (Before you ask, it's an @iosafe 218. And so far I like it just fine.) pbs.twimg.com/media/DZKZ7d9XcAcnt6N.jpgFor everyone asking about the guard dog: It's Mabari from Dragon Age. I was given it on the @jococruise for participating in a contest. The particular model I have appears not to be made any more. Come to my house to steal it and I'll use you for bow practice. Patrick Weekes @patrickweekesI have apparently drunk deep of the company Kool-Aid, as I saw the mabari and took it as a totally normal thing an average person would have in their room, possibly next to a stuffed nug.
