David Gaider @davidgaider Have actual writing work to do. Naturally, I am instead contemplating turning DA fandom arguments into American Chopper memes.

I'm disappointed in the end fight with Corypheus I can't imagine that anyone who has played DA2 Legacy wasn't disappointed by the DAI Corypheus fight. That was one of the major problems of carrying over that villain. I think it was a fun idea, and I actually liked it, but the execution in DAI itself was a little wanting. What made matters worse was that players who sided with the templars got some extra lore bits -- that should NEVER have been a thing, as it is essentially punishing players for taking a different path. I can see extra lore bits on templars or things related to that specific mission, but not the main villain of the whole game. I hope they never do that again.

Honestly i just felt the last quest was too sudden. Like oh wheres coryphyfish wait there he is! and then 5 seconds later youre already fighting him.
I always thought the end battle would be a seige on Skyhold. Considering most of your army was still in the wilds itd be a perfect opportunity and those skyhold upgrades could impact how the battle goes. Plus i'm a sucker for final battles where the entire crew is fighting by youre side.

I noticed when wandering out-of-bounds on the map where you fight Cory, there is an entire village and ruined castle on the ground level. It might have been an earlier version of Haven, though I can't say for sure. It's very different from the Haven we got in-game. But it looks like there was originally more to "Doom Upon All The World", where you had to fight your way from the village to the area of floating rocks.

Best boss fight is still the fight with the Archdemon in DA:O. The fight coupled with that epic scene where the Warden/Alistair/Loghain plunges the sword into the dragon... so satisfying! DA2. Bossfight with Meradeth. She goes completely anime, brings robot Andraste to life, brings slave statues to life, all your friends show up, and then she turns into a statue. That was the worst butchering of Meredith’s name I’ve ever seen.

Looks like it could have been a part of Haven closer to the temple. Which has very similar architecture as skyhold now that i think about it.

That doesn't look like Haven at all. Haven's biggest building as the Chantry, both in DAI and DAO - and this is way bigger than that Chantry. IMO it's supposed to be part of ruins of Temple Of Sacred Ashes We do see that/same looking balcony in cutscene after the fight). Perhaps the fight was supposed to be longer and ultimately this area got cut, for whatever reason.

For everyone's convenience, the relevant building bits start at 14 min. That doesn't look like Haven at all. There is a Ferelden flag hanging inside, and the basic structure is the same as the Inquisitor's tower in Skyhold. I wouldn't read too much into it based on appearance. Hrungr You do certainly find neat stuff. How do you get out of bounds, anyway?

We shouldn't forget that Haven and Temple Of Sacred Ashes was place of pilgrimage for 10 years prior to Conclave. Also - the basic structure ain't the same as Inquisitor's tower. It's Grand Forest Villa from Hinterlands, or at least its most characteristic part with one-of-a-kind roof.

Patrick Weekes @patrickweekes Hey, folks. A PSA for when you’re thinking of linking a content creator to an article critical of their work:
- We usually already know the flaws. We yelled about those flaws.
- Most creators pour their hearts and souls into their work. You’re re-opening a wound.

I don't have twitter, nor do I intend to ever get it, but can someone send a virtual hug to Weekes from me? I can only imagine what it must feel like to have it thrown in your face everything you knew that wasn't good enough but you had no other choice but to keep.

Who the heck does that sort of thing? "Hey, here's someone complaining about something you worked really hard on, let me link it to you!" The world is full of sociopaths, I swear. I think it's the volume of complaints that'd scare me. Negativity is usually what that sticks out the most. It's how we people are built, overall, not just creators. And given that's it's been over 3 years since DAI was published, with everything in the game examined 10 times over, both internally and among the wider audience, it's hard to consider behavior like this as a well-meaning gesture.

Who the heck does that sort of thing? "Hey, here's someone complaining about something you worked really hard on, let me link it to you!" The world is full of sociopaths, I swear. If it was the Kotaku article that was linked above, it could be as simple as "Oh my acquaintance worked on this game and liked this writer's last article, I wonder if they saw it?" *link*. Of course, doing so without scanning the contents is risky. The author of the above article, expounded on her continued negative feelings about a DA:I character Solas, recently, in another article, to demonstrate her appreciation of the game's writing; as a lot of people hate that character, it was very well-received. So, I can see where someone might think that another part of the game might be getting the same treatment, via a backhanded clickbaity title, but going on to praise the game. Instead it was the opposite, "Corypheus sucks, and I'm completely over Dragon Age. Bye."

So would this poster prefer if our characters lounged comfortably at the back of the army while our forces zerg rush the enemy, the game RPing our characters' motivations for us? "It is all good bro, you are TOTALLY cool never obtaining any kind of emotionally cathartic closure with the Big Bad who's caused so much chaos, hounded you and murdered friends and love ones throughout the entire game."
