Dragon Age II was supposed to be called Dragon Age: Exodus and I wish it was. It would have contextualized the game better I'm not so sure. "Exodus" suggests leaving a place. Much of DA2 involves staying in Kirkwall, rather than leaving Lothering.
Now if it had been mainly about the Hawkes' time as refugees, maybe.
On the other hand, Hawke is a reluctant leader surrounded by terrible disasters and people with no impulse control. Plus they never get to retire even after years of putting up with all that bullshit, and the goal that is their birthright (eliminating Corypheus) gets snatched away from them, to be finished by someone else. Oh also a god starts them on their journey, after appearing to them in a burning... dragon. |

BioWare’s most highly decorated and selling game (so far) Shipped November 21, 2014 I guess some will still claim it failed to sell though.  I miss Dutch. |

While I prefer a subtitle for each game to something like "Dragon Age Number", I would say that "Exodus" is hard to understand for players (like me) without any knowledge about Christianity. It is hard to get an idea on the story. Exodus might not be a good title for marketing reasons.

Exodus is a word that means the mass departure of people, like for example refugees moving from a war torn country (like the Hawkes from Blight-ridden Fereldan), it has a meaning outside being the name of a book in the Bible. |

I presume they wanted to go with Exodus because the hawkes are just a few of the masses of refugees that fled, and continue to flee, to the Free Marches (and particularly a portside city like kirkwall) because of the blight. This being the reason why the gates of Kirkwall are closed when Hawke arrived and they have to cut a deal with criminals to even get in, they're getting "too many" refugees, and why poverty stricken places like darktown are filled with fereldens throughout the course of the game.

We didn't feel it was appropriate to the character and romance content (hell, all content) is expensive to make, so we elected to not tackle one with her.
Pretty much the same answer as why any character isn't a romance: time, resources, artistic decision.

I don't really get why people complain about the romances they didn't get. I would have romanced Avela in MEA over everyone available, but she's a limited romance to men, and zip to women. I'm just kinda like, "Well, maybe in MEA2 she'll get more content." Shrug my shoulders a bit wistfully, and move on. If it never happens, and I feel that strongly about it, I'll just write fanfiction and look up fan art.

The humans, asari, cockroach, and lizard options not do it for you?  is forgiven because it gave me Turians to smooch, and Jade Empire and the two Star Wars games don't have any dwarves in them so they are likewise forgiven. That still leaves Baldur's Gate 2, Neverwinter Nights and all of Dragon Age as games that contain dwarves but cruelly don't allow you to properly romance them. (At least not for more than a few minutes in the dwarf noble origin, which barely counts in my book.) I have heard that one of the Neverwinter Nights premium modules lets you romance an Azer, which I gather is a bit like a dwarf that is on fire. I still think they can do better than that. |
