Aw yeah, big dramatic fight at the Grand Proving Arena in Minrathous, I'll bet.
I will be sorely disappointed if we don't get this now! Ah, I remember doing the Proving down in Orzammar... good times!
I know right? It's just speculation, but I mean, if he's researching arena fights I'm not sure what else in Dragon Age it could be. Lol, maybe they'll make it a PvP arena as well as a plot-related destination.

It could also be just fighting/combat moves.
I wouldn't mind it, if the warriors would get more agile in battle.

It'd be hilarious if it turned out that it was for a scene in which a PC watches a schlocky "B-theatre" performance featuring arena fight and commenting how schlocky it is

Micahš Captain _micah Friend: hey, I'm gonna play Dragon Age, do you have any tips?
Me: *pulls out 3 giant binders* we're gonna be here for awhile
BioWare @bioware Only three?
Here's a tip. When you do start playing DA, post your playthrough in this thread
Elizabeth Nancy Shepard - Earthborn/soldier/ruthless Humanity #1 I'm Commander Shepard, and this is my favorite playthrough in ME Carolina Panthers(3-7) vs Kansas City Chiefs(9-1) Nov 24 1PM CBS #7Alabama Crimson Tide(8-2) at Oklahoma Sooners(5-5)Nov 23 730PM ABC/ESPN+ If you see a soldier or veteran, shake their hand and thank them for their service
Yep, it would be rendered on some other machine and then streamed through the internet (or at least that's how I was given to understand it, if anyone knows more about this area, please be free to correct me ) Like I said, it's years away from being a reality but if you don't need to buy a console/PC to run games, it makes the market alot more open for consumers, which is a large part why the mobile market does so well, as pretty much everyone has a smartphone anyway, they aren't needing to buy it to specifically play games. Theoritiacally, you could get customers trying your game who wouldn't have normally, as previously trying your game meant having to invest in some expensive equipment first.
Nvidia is currently trying to make such service a reality.
It is a reality, my every day reality our service was the worlds first and is still running, gaining more and more customers every day.
[ LegendCNCD / AsariLoverFI ] MEA Rules! Waiting for DA4 & ME5 - Look's like sometime in 2186, everything went to hell. We got out just ahead of it! I'm fairly sure most of us here know what project Matt Rhodes (lead concept artist) is working on - still, I've stumbled upon his youtube account recently and, since we're hunting for every tidbit about DA4 and it being actively worked on, there's a little something in a stream that happened 2 weeks ago (proper timestamp linked below):

(also... CSI:BSN? Someone needs to spend some time to analyze whether those prints on the wall that serve as background are from the next thing ...)

I'm pretty sure he streams from home, not work. I doubt he's able to take top sekrit work art home with him. Anyway, the identifiable art on the wall behind him are all from his Tellurion series, which is a personal project he's been working on for over a year.
In other Matt Rhodes news, I recently learned that he did the concept art for the animated movie of Tad Williams' first book, Tailchaser's Song. ^-^ This video's from 6 years ago but my sister was at a con recently and I guess the movie is coming out later this year.

What unexpectedly great news. I always liked that book.
Do not trust to hope. It has forsaken these lands.

Optional arenas have got to be one of my favorite Bioware traditions. āSolvingā Jade Empireās arena was one of the high points of the game for me.

Best part of Jaws of Hakkon, IMO.
Inquisitor: Is that innuendo? Sera: No, it's at the front!

EXCEPT FOR THAT ONE TRAGICALLY CRUEL MATCHUP. YOU KNOW WHAT YOU DID BIOWARE.
On a related tangent, I like having the occasional opportunity for individual achievement. The Glory Proving & Thieving quests in DA:O, single-combat with the Arishok... Though we never really got that in DA:I.
Hana Bananaš± @feyriane . @patrickweekes i've been managing a #solaspositivity project for a few months now: tinyurl.com/ybfg7fr8 ! could you tell us a random solas fact that we don't know yet, please :3? sth unspoilery like "he hates tea" -a simple life fact? :3 thank you for *everything* ā¤ļø!
Patrick Weekes @patrickweekes I am having trouble of thinking of something folks donāt already know but which isnāt a spoiler! Letās see. He prefers chess to cards, because he dislikes games of chance.

Pathfinder Ryder @cubsfanatic76 Is that why he wasn't at the card game?
Patrick Weekes @patrickweekes He probably would have sharked it, and is good enough to win, but not good enough to not win without making it obvious heās throwing it. Chance is messy.

John Epler @eplerjc Throwback to when I was working a charity BBQ and one of the guys there found out I worked at BioWare. He spent the next three hours telling me why DA2 was the worst thing ever.
John Epler @eplerjc I was holding a BBQ fork at the time so, I mean, props for his conviction.

There are some rude people...
Greed is neither good, nor bad. Everybody wants something they don't have
He prefers chess to cards, because he dislikes games of chance.
this is the man who let Corypheus "find" the Orb.
But... how is that an action based on chance? He didn't lead Venatori to orb on a flimsy hope that they'd open it for him and get themselves exploded in the process. Corypheus, in fact, did exactly that - what Solas didn't foresee, for whatever reason, was that Cory had a 'revive' button. But acting on incomplete data ain't just leaving things to chance.
Nevermind that you've just compared picking a preferred form of entertainment to something with very different scope or stakes I'm pretty sure Solas dislike of chance overall informs his dislike of chance in games he prefers to play, but I'm also pretty sure he isn't one to confuse a game of chess he can choose to play with a 'game' about the fate of entire world, or the fact that his choices or preferences are entirely irrelevant in it.
All he can do - all anybody can do, really - is choose to play with a hand the fate has served him. It will not always be favorable, regardless of preparations or contingencies: Cory's immortality or Inquisitor miraculously stopping the ritual at the very last second is enough proof of that. All we can be fairly certain is that Solas ain't the guy to hope for another miracle to solve his problems and thus will continue pushing with his plan (likely until the final showdown or someone presenting him an alternative that has more than a mere chance of succeeding).
āThe cosmos is within us. We are made of star-stuff. We are a way for the universe to know itself.ā

For the same reason that "if you want something done, you'd better do it yourself" is a thing. You can't predict the outcome when you leave things to other people. The minute he relinquished the orb he was taking a chance that things would turn out in the way he wanted. Even ignoring the Corypheus horcrux thing, they could have said, "Y'know, this thing belongs in a museum!*"
He could have waited, had just a bit of patience, and accomplished his goal without all the fuss. Waiting for himself to be at full strength was all he had to do. He's thousands of years old! He didn't have the patience to wait for a measly couple of years for that?
* However remote, that was a possibility.
Mountains. Cold. "Let's bring Dorian!" It's good to be Champion!
