As I noted elsewhere, the story of Luthias Dwarfson is almost certainly a reference to the Irish mythological hero Cu Chulainn.

Well, and Morrigan is a Celtic goddess, while Fenrir/Fenris is a creature from Norse myths. I'm not sure it tells us anything about these things in DA world, given that - usually - the connection to the element from actual IRL myths they borrowed from is tenuous.

Stephanie Brayall @sbrayall@patrickweekes was the Morrighan'nan/dwarfson tale foreshadowing what could of happened w/ Morrigan and her son or was Mythal possessing Morrighan’nan at the time? That explains why Flemeth was surprised when Morrigan chose her son over herself. was Mythal Tyrdda’s spirit lover? Patrick Weekes @patrickweekesSpooooooooilers! Sorry, this reads as a lot of nonsense. Is it referencing something? It's on the wiki: dragonage.wikia.com/wiki/Morrighan'nan

Didn't realize there was so much dwarf/human mixing in the early tribal days. Tyrdda and her dwarf friend had a kid. Luthias is implied to be half dwarven due to his height and lack of parentage mentioned (and name) plus he falls for a dwarven princess. And gets his body taken back to Orzammar after his death, which honestly seems really sketch to me since he caused problems there with Scaea leaving, then betrayed her, and then clearly not all was forgiven cus she conveniently turns up to give him armor that inexplicably fails him in the last moment. Also wouldn't surprise me if she conceived a kid, too, in that final encounter of theirs, cus why not? Just, lotsa dwarven human interaction going on for a people who, you'd think, were voluntarily confined underground. Unless that "no surface visits" thing wasn't a thing yet.

Greg Ellis @ellisgregWe’re edging ever closer to the reveal. Where is the video game company located? Greg Ellis @ellisgregIs there a word or phrase you’d like me to say during a voice over recording session for this game and what would it be? Greg Ellis @ellisgregDo you foresee the involvement of love in the characters ongoing story. If so, how?

I've never played WoW. Does it have romances? Welp, at this point he only asks whether we think there's going to be love involved in character's ongoing story, which may not even be a romance thing. In other words:

The Avvar live in the Frostback Mountains/Basin and the dwarves live... in it. Things are bound to get frisky. It does make you wonder what restrictions they had about going topside. Throw in Morrigan and a dwarf Warden having half-dwarf OGB Kieran and Grandma Elf-Spirit-Human-Abomination waiting in the wings and you've got a tale as twisted as Tyrdda's. 🤔

I've never played WoW. Does it have romances? I haven't played since shortly after the Cataclysm was released (so for like... 8 years) but there weren't romances back then. It's an MMORPG so you could flirt with other players' avatars and maaaybe even get married to them in-game? (I don't remember.) But there weren't any voiced romances with NPCs a la Dragon Age, and the flirts were little actions like blowing kisses at the other player's avatar or dancing with them - there weren't any words exchanged, really.

I've never played WoW. Does it have romances? WoW doesn't have romances for the player, but various NPCs can have storylines involving partners or other loved ones. Heck, in one end-game cinematic a couple of expansions ago, it was revealed that a major lore NPC's partner was pregnant, and before that part of the story of the final big dungeon of an expansion had to do with NPC romance. Lots of that going on for various characters, just not concerning the player.
But as mentioned, all of the races (that the player can be) get /flirt emotes for each gender, most of which are suited to the personality and lore of that race, so that's certainly a possibility.

Oh dear Greg. I live in Europe, so since a dozen of days, my day starts by checking out if there's a sparkle of hope you may have lit again in my heart. Mornings like this one sweeten my day, although I know I should stay on the ground. Well, I don't care, if I want to dream high, I will. Shatter my heart, but you'll never take the hope away. But don't break it yet, I wish to still bask a bit longer in the feeling of closure awaiting. (Re-reading this mess makes me think my Lavellan wrote this)

Eurogamer: Being the boss of Dragon AgeMike Laidlaw still remembers his first day at BioWare - and, 15 years later - his last. A lot happened in between.
eezo59 @eezo59@mike_Laidlaw Regarding this part, I thought Origins was always intended to be a standalone game?
Mike Laidlaw @mike_Laidlaw Originally there was no long-term plan, but one of my goals coming into the project was to make it a franchise.
Kat The White Cat_in_hatI loved the article, but it made me sad that you look back on DA with what came across as regret. Sure, the games aren’t perfect — but what game is? Thank you for helping to create and share a world I enjoy immensely

Mike Laidlaw @mike_LaidlawOriginally there was no long-term plan, but one of my goals coming into the project was to make it a franchise. Yeah, you couldn't half tell either. The most powerful threat for thousands of years had been discovered, and defeated in a single game and it's not like you can easily "out epic" that, so what do they do now? Well, why even bother trying? Instead do a small, personal story in the same setti- and now everybody hates them and saying they fucked up. Booo. So how about instead do a Skyrim and Witcher open world game sprinkled with a bit of politics and ancient Gods ... The story never really recovered after Origins. It's been meandering. Still fun games, but Origins was the complete package.

Picking up the thread of Ellis speculation re: Blizzard... they don't typically do E3 stuff, do they? I mean, they have Blizzcon for that every single year; this year's is early November.

I thought the man responsible for developing Dragon Age as a franchise was Dan Tudge. And, you know, Brent Knowles, who left the "franchise" (but stayed at Bioware another year) when the direction for DA2 became clear and he didn't like it. According to Knowles the new lead (I assume Laidlaw) was brought in to finish the DAO console port. Is Laidlaw perhaps looking for a job and inflating his CV a bit?

In an interview from a while ago David Gaider also stated that some plans for the future have been there, but at the time of DAO release they simply didn't know whether the first game would be successful enough to guarantee a sequel, much less full series.

Or maybe... you know, it's because they said it? Dan Tudge CV and Brent Knowles blog. It may very well have been that Laidlaw pushed for it, since he'd just become the new Lead and after all, Gaider did set down a lot of story for the game/games and books. (A nice interview given by David Gaider before DAO was even released).
