Or... well... you know, you may have thought wrong? In an interview from a while ago David Gaider also stated that some plans for the future have been there, but at the time of DAO release they simply didn't know whether the first game would be successful enough to guarantee a sequel, much less full series. Or maybe... you know, it's because they said it? Dan Tudge CV and Brent Knowles blog. It may very well have been that Laidlaw pushed for it, since he'd just become the new Lead and after all, Gaider did set down a lot of story for the game/games and books. (A nice interview given by David Gaider before DAO was even released). Well, they really only said that they were on the project, not really anything about them being responsible for developing it as a franchise. That decision seems to have been hovering somewhere in the background when developing the first game, given DAO's general structure and Gaider's work and words, but - through series of decisions and circumstances - it was Laidlaw who was designated to actually make DA a franchise after they got a green light to do so.

Well, it's not as if I'm reading some hidden meaning in their words. From Dan Tudge CV: Mike Laidlaw may have continued it and possibly pushed to keep it as a franchise, he certainly developed the rest of the franchise from a Creative PoV.

Picking up the thread of Ellis speculation re: Blizzard... they don't typically do E3 stuff, do they? I mean, they have Blizzcon for that every single year; this year's is early November. They annouced something as big as WoW expansion outside BlizzCon (Legion was annouced on Gamescom), so I wouldn't completely rule it out. But yeah, most is BlizzCon thing (November 2-3 this year).

Well, it's not as if I'm reading some hidden meaning in their words. There's no need for hidden meaning. My point is that we don't know the whole ins and outs and who made what decisions at what time. Despite not overflowing with details Knowles' blog makes it quite clear that things have been roiling and settling for quite some time and then there were several months of transition between old and new leadership. So if they participated in work to make the franchise happen at that time, then of course they're going to put that on their CV. It's a bit like Mike Laidlaw at the end I guess - he mentioned at some point that he's been eyeing an opportunity to exit for quite some time, yet he's accepted the role of senior creative lead for several months prior to leaving and during the period of transitioning and thus this role is mentioned in his CV.

Greg Ellis @ellisgregIs there a word or phrase you’d like me to say during a voice over recording session for this game and what would it be? Greg Ellis @ellisgregDo you foresee the involvement of love in the characters ongoing story. If so, how? Greg Ellis @ellisgregWould you like the character to a happy or sad ending in the game?

So, Greg is still making the tweets eh? I'm more and more convinced it's not even Bioware related, but seeing how hyped his fans are really makes me uneasy thinking about how disappointed they will be. Surely he must realize that they will just be sad and not see the "fun" of being strung along?
I guess there's a small possibility that he's actually hyping what they are hoping for, I just don't see how that could ever be possible.

Look I get people are really into Dragon Age (I am too) but it's the man's own twitter, it's perfectly reasonable for him to try and get people interested in his next work. Like c'mon, if people are getting their hopes up too much on the next Dragon Age, it's kinda on them.

Yea, well... unless it's some sort of DA side project we don't know of? Honesty, I have no idea and I've long since stopped trying to decipher what it is. The only thing I know is that he must be pretty aware that he has a lot of Cullen fan following him, because it's the group of fans he keeps addressing in many of his tweets. I mean... never mind that - one can just look at tweets below the thread So yea I foresee that there will be some disappointment there, regardless how innocent he thinks this teasing is.

Though, you'd think, if a lot of the guesses he's getting in response are totally off base, he'd toss out a "Sorry, guys, its not Cullen." or something. Though, I don't even know how much response his tweets are actually getting. Is it a lot? Or just like double digit retweets or something?

Demitrium @demitriumlis@patrickweekes Hello, I had a question regarding DA lore. I want to play a DPS but the lore of the Reavers seems out of character for my PC. Are there Reavers who are known to be noble and rational? Iv'e read about the supposed Reaver, Calenhad the Great, are there more like him? Patrick Weekes @patrickweekesReavers are (in a broad general sense) blood mages minus the mage part. It’s attractive to people who are vicious or brutal, but not restricted to them, by any stretch.
Demitrium @demitriumlis
Is the the mental degradation a certainty or is it like Cassandra said and the Inquisitor could resist it? Or is that just in correlation to how frequently they drink the blood? Or am I just taking the specialization too seriously and these questions weren’t meant to be answered?
Patrick Weekes @patrickweekes
I’d say it’s going to vary from person to person. It carries risks, but it’s not a death sentence.

[HASH]DAT I think it helps if you’re not a severely-inbred mountain-dweller like the cultists at Haven. On a inbreeding scale of Dukes of Hazzard to Deliverance, they were ranked at Joffrey Baratheon.

I’d say it’s going to vary from person to person. It carries risks, but it’s not a death sentence. Hm... is this "mental degradation" mentioned anywhere in the game before taking the actual spec? (I don't mean meta information.) Like, say part of your RP is reading things and talking to Breaker Thram about what is involved. Cullen's experience is enough to dissuade my Inquisitor from the templar path, and he's SnS anyway, so leans toward champion. I usually do take all of the dialogues offered by all of the trainers (and do the quests!) but this is the first time I've heard of this. I already knew about the pseudo- blood mage thing.
[edit] The gamey mechanic of simply using skills aside, I can see a reaver only taking the blood when they're going to do big battle. Confronting some random bandits may not warrant that. So you could certainly have that as your RP when playing a reaver character.
I think it helps if you’re not a severely-inbred mountain-dweller like the cultists at Haven. On a inbreeding scale of Dukes of Hazzard to Deliverance, they were ranked at Joffrey Baratheon. I snort-laughed at this, so thanks.
